  • RV renovation! In this video, we do fifth wheel toy hauler upgrades. We live location independent in our toy hauler full time and wanted to make our remote office cozier, so we installed insulation and vinyl flooring! INFO ⬇⬇
    For the longest time, our toy hauler box / RV office has been a complete disaster! While visiting our parents in Southern California, we take the time to get it dialed in by doing an RV modification. We start the renovation by installing insulation, then furring strips to remove the rear dovetail. Once we have the structure built out the next step for the toy hauler is installing plywood and eventually the vinyl flooring. We really hope you enjoy this video and get some knowledge and or inspiration out of it, don;t forget to subscribe!

    I'm always surprised at how negative and critical some people are (the guy Daniel from just below me, for example). I guess they think if it isn't exactly how they'd do it, it's awful.
    Pay zero attention that guys like that...you guys did a GREAT job on this remodel. You were creative about covering the dropoff, added insulation and did a good job. Jim

      Adventure Endeavor I’ve seen them wiggle apart on the ride. So have to be cut really tight fitting. I’m planning ahead to vinyl when my floor wears out. I hate the pattern. Looks dirty all the time. Hard to justify change when it’s only 2 years. But I’m almost there. Is that crazy to want to paint already.

    Good job and great idea about leveling. We are looking at toyhaulers too (same one), but probably won't get a vehicle unless it is a golf cart. But that hopefully won't be for a while, still able to walk for a while.

    The leveling of the back was the oddest thing about this. So wide it is like that. I am guessing so water and dirt goes to the back? Anyway, great work. ❤️👍👏 Donovan & Jodi

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  4 года назад +2

      So they make it taper down in the back for a Razr or Quads, we don't have any or plan on getting them any time soon. So now the back is level and much more usable for us. Also it can be removed in less than one our if need be. Make sense? Just works better for us.

      When we had this rig we lived in it full-time. The toy box was a full-time office and gym.

      Yeah that was the 2x6 that we cut to length. On our trailer the 2x6 was perfect. That's what we attached to the strips of 1x3. Hopefully that makes sense we did our best to explain and film the whole process. Thanks for watching!👍

    I thought this would have a custom floor, but instead I see vinyl covering. Not my cuppa. And for what it's worth, OSB is NOT plywood.

    I seem to be having tire blow outs on 1 side of my 5th wheel. I was driving 65 MPH in 90 degree temperatures in California and was told most tires are not speed rated more than 60mph. What do you recommend?

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  3 года назад +2

      Yeah from what ive read Steve thru are not. To be perfectly honest I have not done enough research. People jump up to 14 ply but that requires 120 psi rims. Make sure you check out our video that comes out this Sunday, it's actually tire related.

    Have you weighed your rig yet? We weighed ours on the last move and are surprisingly over weight so now we are trying to trim down.

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  3 года назад +2

      We have not, I doubt we are over weight but I could be wrong. We have 3k for a razr and 1500lbs for cargo. Perks of a toy hauler I guess. Thanks for watching.

    • @georgeramsey2827
      @georgeramsey2827 3 года назад +1

      @@AdventureEndeavor thats one reason we bought a toyhauler too, couldn't find a 5th wheel with the cargo space and setup we needed. Thats why i was surprised when we took it across a scale.

    • @AdventureEndeavor

      @@AdventureEndeavor 3 of us fulltime but 2 visit on college breaks. When we set up the RV i took weight for granted and didnt pay close attention to it, thought wed have plenty of room. Ive got a wooden dresser on board, a small freezer, bookshelf as a pantry , added wood shelves to cabinets, clothes of course, front loading residential washing machine.
      We are continually downsizing as we live in it and move around. We've moved 4 times since May. We will be downsizing the Blackstone, trying to fully drain the washer, downsizing my tools ( for weight in truck), and only travel with tanks empty.

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  3 года назад +1

      We got the flooring at home depot, if we were to do it again we would look for something a little thicker. It was roughly 60.00 to do the whole toy box.

    Wat a hack job, ruining the toyhauler

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  2 года назад +2

      That's a pretty negative assumption. We liked the way it turned out and didn't have a need for putting a toy in it. It was easy to remove before it sold and the new owners were happy as far as we know. 🤷‍♂️
