There’s something about this new gixxer that makes it more desirable than the last few years (esp with the arrow exhaust too). And holy cow, a 2kg+ weight saving is A. Lot. But the sound... that’s worth 80% of the cost right there :D
A friend of mine is doing a weight saving project on his 2018 GSX-R1000R. Rotobox Boost wheels, Antigravity li-ion battery, Arrow slip-on (not a full system because that wouldn't be street legal here in Portugal), 520 chain with Supersprox Stealth Sprocket, tail tidy, passenger footpegs removed (and very light exhaust hanger fitted) and titanium bolts. He has lost 10.7kg / 23.6lbs total. Crazy.
If he's fat, then there's no better bang for your buck than a gym membership. A lot of riders could lose 20 lbs themselves. Haha Kind of joking but it's also true.
44Teeth what about wiping all your fingermarks off the can before you run it? The oil from your hands are now burned into the titanium! Youll never get it off now
That can just makes the bike what it should always have been. 1: Lighter, 2: looks WAY better, 3: sounds far better, and 4: a considerable hp and torque gain in the midrange. Win:win:win:win!!
That sounded fantastic when started with the new can. Interesting to see how quickly the titanium blues up too. Love that bikes new look now the bin is gone!
Having just replaced the full system on that bike and it taking two hours, I can see why you went for just the slip on. Less pissing about with fairings etc
@@AridersLifeYT fairings are fiddle. Downpipes too which are also damn fiddly to get into without removing the rad. WELL WORTH doing though, transformed the bike (This was a GPR System) - Review on the BikeThrottle channel
2hrs isn't bad for all the work for headers. But it will be worth it as headers give you much more power than just a slip on with proper tuning of course.
Looks great with the Arrow and of course sounds the business too. Nice to see an actual horsepower gain out of a mod..I think that fuel map will make it scream! Look forward to that episode.
A mate fitted the full system to his gsxr1kr - painfully loud to be directly behind him but sounds superb. He is now race peeping it as he has lost his licence...to join his other race bikes.
Love my T30 tyres so can only guess how good the T31’s are. I’ve had my knee down all year round (even on a damp November afternoon / public roads) on the BT023’s before the T30’s came out.
I've had 6 or 7 T30 evo rears on my street triple R, it was a revelation to switch to M7RRs, the bridgestones had good grip, but the profile was soo slow.
I'm typically a Michelin Pilot Road fan, but I recently put a set of T31's on my S1000R and so far I'm pretty happy with them, and they were $100 CAD less for a set.
Ditto. I ride a dual porpoise parallel twin, had 023's, T30's and now T31 Evo. They just work. Super hot NZ roads in summer, slick as an eel wet back roads in winter, gravel roads... Pretty shit in sand.. Tough carcass, too. Putting on the T31's will have negated the Arrow weight saving a bit. I'm pretty stoked to see them on the Gixxer, a lot of riders bang on about other brands but can never quantify why they are better. I ride a very familiar piece of road every time I put new tyres on my bike to prevent my opinion coming out me arse. Must admit I had to soften the rebound slightly with the T30's / 31, they are quite stiff. Not a bad thing.
@MrMoardin Are the St's as good as the GT's? my bike came with ST's, might replace them before the MOT in March, any ideas what is best at that kind of price range? Ride all year, not rich enough to put winter tyres on lol
You really can't go wrong with Arrow or Akrapovic, I know Akra has become the go-to exhaust and they're awesome but Arrow is on par without a doubt. Looks great Alistair and sounds ten times better! Roll on matey.
Has to be the best, 'affordable' bike of 2018 that. The colour scheme is just jizzy. Yes, it has an LCD dash, but a TFT one wont lose you a second or so on track haha
I own both the 2018 gixxer 750 & 1000R models, and the 750 is just an epic bike, I bought the 1000R as I felt uncomfortable on the 750, but I'm only 170cm 68kg...seriously if it wasn't for the seating position on the 750 I would not have bought the 1000R. I don't use ABS and IMU on the 1000R anyway.
Would be cool to know how loud all the pipes you are testing are for trackday restrictions? Absolutely amazing video can’t wait to see more especially the GSXR and BBB’s
Plus brock isn't someone I'd trust to tune a scooter never mind a gsx1000r look at the grinding down brake pads to decrease rolling resistance stuff he does or buying o ring chains and taki g the o rings out to decrease friction....
it would with the baffle inserted... removing it is only illegal if you actually use it on the road... but hey seems like nobody bothers telling that anyone
I’ll be super bummed when EV’s kill the sweet sounds of internal combustion! Also, your comment about all of the tire and exhaust experts is hilarious! The internet masses know little to nothing!
Nice video Al. It sounds real nice with that pipe on . keep us posted on throttle response etc or are you going to tune before you ride? Will you flash the ecu and/or tune with a pwr commander etc ? Thanks
Hey @44teeth - does the ECU adjust to those small AFR issues on modern bikes? I thought they could adjust themselves if the changes were small enough... you just needed to ride it a little more with the new exhaust?

The finger marks will polish off, mcquires should do it
Still cheaper than the dustbin that was taken off.
Pretty cheap considering its titanium. I'd go Ti over carbon any day... Seems to last longer, look better, and crash better. Love Arrow systems.
On idle it sounds sublime! Nice minimalist look and good weight reduction too.
Sounds great. From 8:15 to 9:10 you can see the titanium midpipe getting colored due to heat :)
This has improved the first Thursday after New Year no end!

That muffler looks like it came off a ford van. And hats off to you for putting on "winter tires" and riding through the winter.
Good gains for sure!!! And not just that what a difference its made aesthetically 🥰 and all that for £327 wow 😮 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Excellent, can’t wait for the re-map😎
Hi Toby, i was wondering how you get that 44teeth sign behind your name?
Frank Eichhorn hi Frank, you have to pay/subscription.
That looks so much better with the can change, all it needs now is a tail tidy and it will be bang tidy
Suzuki can do some lovely looking paint jobs.. white and blue looks so good. Huge aesthetic improvement with the exhaust can too..
Looks so much better. Would be interesting to see a Dyno run with the dB killer fitted. Especially if needed for track days.
That can really does look & sound the part doesn't it....well done mate 👍🏻
Yes! My first new dose of 44Teeth content in the New Year. That Arrow exhaust so good. 😁
Maybe it's time to sell one of my bikes and get a Suzuki. That's pretty darn legit.
Just saw you on FW, nice to know I'm not the only crossover. :D

Affordable? The GSX-R1000R RRPs for $27,490 here in Australia. :(
BatShitBiker Cheaper than the Ducati V4 R and the like 😂😂
Everything in Australia is expensive, although the gixxer 750 is reasonable in price.

You guys have ridden all sorts of bikes. WOuld you ever ride one of these in the winter, even for a lark? A Timber Sled.
Should look at Brocks performance he did a series withe gsxr showing that the throttle body at 100 % throttle, dont always stay 100 %.

Great video Ant. Are you going down the Power Commander route and other mods for performance or just the fuelling?
9:55 - 7rwhp gain in mid range for 300 quid. damn thats a solid investment isnt it.
A solid investment only because the stocker dustbin is such a massive throat ache to an otherwise good engine...

Very nice. Now it sounds like the old oil cooled Suzuki's of the early 80's. It looks so much better too.
I was sort of embarrassingly impressed that you did the tires yourself, Albert.
Even if you didn't gain any horsepower the weight loss and sounds is AWESOME...
I love that machine , I have a 2015 gsxr1000 but I'm curious about the new engine
Personally i feel Suzuki's got the best inline 4 sound, even in stock exhaust
