You have, once again, outdone yourself Anastasia! Blessed be the watercolor gods! I now have most--if not all--the colours you used. Today, on a whim, I went to my favourite art supplies store (Blicks) and was able to get the last tube of Daniel Smith buff titanium which was one of the colors I was lacking. I had been mixing my own using titanium white, yellow ochre and a touch of French ultramarine, but having the Daniel Smith's is a game changer. I love to use it for creating a "glow". Having been born in a coastal town in Cuba 74 years ago, I love lighthouses and/or anything that has to do with the sea. I live in Miami, Florida, so the sea is a wonderful companion. God bless, and keep gracing us with your tutorials.
And I am a 45 minute drive from Cape Lighthouse Point which is a lovely place to paint en plein air! The lighthouse was erected in 1825 and has survived all the "lovely" hurricanes we've had in South Florida.
One question and I shall cease and desist! Is it okay to use Winsor and Newton masking fluid instead of masking tape to mask out the ligthouse? Thank you!!!!!
I will look up Cape Lighthouse Point! I love "visiting" different lighthouses around the world online. Thank you. Lighthouses are magic.
How exciting that you got Buff Titanium - I find it is one of the loveliest colours to have on the palette. You can mix gorgeous pastel tones mixing it with different vibrant colours - have fun!
And as for the masking fluid, I have never tried using it to create straight lines so I am not sure how "crisp" the edges of the lighthouse would be if you used masking fluid. I think I've seen people use ruling pens, maybe it is a tool that could help you with that? Something like this: www.amazon.com/s?k=ruling+pen&ref=nb_sb_noss
This is exquisite--so elegant and graceful and such a skillful use of a limited palette. Beautiful technique, Anastasia, and beautifully presented. I can tell you love this subject too. Thank you so much!
Thank you for watching and for such wonderful feedback Susan 😊 Really appreciate it!
@@AnastasiaMily You're so very welcome, Anastasia!

Anastasia, you are the artist I am striving to be. Simplicity with beautiful colors, great composition . Even the style of music is what I listen to! I enjoy painting wet on wet and spontaneous landscapes the most.Steve Mitchell, the Mind of Watercolor, was how I started. I’m so very glad your channel showed up on my feed. Looking forward to all of your videos. Thank you for sharing your talent!😊❤
Oh thank you so much for your beautiful words! Glad we share the love for watercolour ✨ I believe there is absolutely nothing like it. Painting wet into wet and watching what watercolours would create always feel like magic ✨
I am a big fan of Steve Mitchell’s channel too, the videos are just so incredibly informative and calming at the same time.

I also love all things lighthouse. We boat in the Pacific NW San Juan Islands and have the opportunity to see many of them. Thank you for the the amazing tutorial; I love your style of painting and your approach to teaching.
Thank you so much, so glad you enjoyed this video 😊 Lighthouses are so beautiful, all of them. Boating in the Pacific NW sounds like an absolute dream. I hope to come back to the PNW one day and explore more of that magical corner of the world.
Such a great gift for Passover. An amazing piece with so much calm power. Many thanks Anastasia. I wish you a pleasant and joyful holiday.❤

Thank you for your kind words!
Stunning!
Thank you so much!
As you know, I am a big fan of your work and was very interested in how you tackled the clouds. Thank so much for sharing how you go about drawing the lighthouse. I can’t draw for quids but now will be giving lighthouses a go. I love the dinky little lighthouse at Ballina. 😍❤️
Thank you so much Julie! So glad you have found this video useful. I have seen many lighthouses around Australia but haven't been to the Ballina one. Had it look it up - it is so cute 😁 Reminds me of the Tacking Point lighthouse in Port Macquarie.
Have fun drawing lighthouses!
Beautiful
Thank you!
Beautiful as always . I’ve never used a set square. Guess I need to find a RUclips on that !
Thank you so much! A set square is such a useful tool to get very straight vertical and horizontal lines
Beautiful! Liked and subscribed.
Thank you so much
I like your work style very much. Your works are really special and beautiful. I request you to teach me about natural flowers if possible. I hope you are successful❤❤❤😊😊😊❤🤗🤗
Thank you for watching and for such a lovely comment 😊
Molto bello questo acqerello. Mi piace molto la tua arte così raffinata. Peccato che non conosco linglese
Thank you for watching and for your kind comment, I really appreciate it!
love the lighthouse, I did your other one and it turned out good. Can you do a lighthouse on some rocks with waves crashing into the rocks/lighthouse. If I paint the rocks a darker brown, then the light blue for waves won't show up. I always use acrylic paint to add the splashing part. Thanks for your tutorials. love them and did get 100 % cotton paper. I see what you mean now.
Thank you for watching, and I am happy to know you are enjoying my videos! 100% cotton paper does make all the difference... For the lighthouse and the crashing waves, I actually also use splatters of white gouache for the pure white part of the waves. I might do the video one day soon, thank you for the idea.
amazing so nice ❤😍👍 new subscriber
Thank you for watching and for being here
😍❤️
😊✨
I really enjoyed this. I too love to paint lighthouses and people always ask why I paint so many. This is much tighter than your usual style and I love both ways. Is there a reason you choose tape over fluid to mask?
Glad you enjoyed it Jeanette, thank you for watching. Lighthouses are such a wonderful subject to paint! I use tape as I always get crisper lines comparing to the masking fluid, plus is it generally less hassle to apply and to remove the tape 😁
Absolutely love this painting the techniques are brilliant where can I get the little mixing palette with a small Wells? Thank you. Beautiful day. Can’t wait to give it a try your very inspiring teacher.
Thank you for watching and for your kind words! So glad you are enjoying my videos. Not sure where you are located but you can try Etsy for handmade ceramic palettes like this one. Art supply shops have porcelain mixing palettes with wells, they are often shaped like a flower. Amazon could be an option too for porcelain palettes.
A lovely day to you too!
@@AnastasiaMily note from Mississippi, thanks for your suggestions take care ❤️🎨
Grazie tantissimo ti seguo e mi incanto poi ho provato con il faro e ora so come procedere grazieeeee baci 😘
So glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for watching
Hi, I've followed several of your videos on Etchr. The sketch is very light here. Is there any way to get a darker version of it as well as a list of the colors you used. Thanx!
Hi, thank you for watching both my RUclips videos and the Etchr classes. I can't do anything about the sketch being light here, sorry (it doesn't look light to me, maybe you could decrease brightness or increase contrast on the device you are watching). As for the list of colours, you can see all the materials, including the paints I used, in the description of the video.
👌✌️🥰🇬🇪
✨🙏🏻✨
put the tape on the table before you stick it on the paper. takes away a bit of the stick
It's a great tip, thank you. I find that my tape+paper combination works well without having to take away some of the stickiness but some papers (especially not 100% cotton ones) tear more easily.
