- LMS 4-6-0 7P number 46100 "Royal Scot" made a rare appearance on the East Coast Mainline in charge of the Steam Dreams charter train from Shoeburyness to York and back.
The Scot performed perfectly keeping exact time throughout.
We caught the Scot twice on the northbound run - south of and north of a water stop at Retford - and then again later travelling through Doncaster station.
This locomotive visited the USA and Canada in 1933, covering more than 11000 miles on the American continent. The locomotive was actually built as number 6152 but was given the identity of 6100 for its journey to America. It has kept that identity since.
Recorded on 23rd September 2023.
Magnificent to see you Andy and your wife in this beginning of the clip
Feel really unsure about doing that !! - A
yes, I like your intro. It is nice to see the faces behind the cameras. Thank you for recording these old beautiful engines.
Thank you. We're experimenting with intros. We don't want to spoil the videos but would like to add some interest - Andy
Very nice beautiful fantastic
Thank you - Andy
Love the new introduction and explanation of the video with you and Dandan! Just another steam train powerful enough to drag a diesel along the route! Maybe the need to add a few more switches. Just kidding🚂🚂🚂🚂👏👏👏👏👏
We're still not sure about the introductions! We'll see how it goes _ Andy
