Man those were the days watching Matt Hoffman and mirra competing at the same events. Both are incredible guys and amazing rider's. Rest in peace Dave! We all love you and miss you man!
Just makes me wonder how amazing a prime Hoffman and Mirra would be in today's era with the new bikes, social media watching them practice with all the resources available. But then again, I guess the charm of growing up in the 90s was waiting for the x games to come around so you can watch them ride and compete. What a time it was
I remember riding BMX and freestyle with my friends in the late 80s and early 90s. I never would have imagined the progression of riding getting to where it is today. When Mat Hoffman, Dennis McCoy, Kevin Jones and others took riding to the next level, I thought that must be the peak. But then the amazing athletes of the X Games built off of that and pushed riding into the 21st century. Hats off to all of these guys!
X Games I dunno, but I'd like to think you could get 10-12 good riders to pair up. Dedicate it to Mirra like the best trick, maybe promote it with a mental health charity with the angle of looking out for friends? Coincidentally if you need a new head of BMX ideas, I'm available for work 😉 love your work lads
I remember being at the xgames when Mat pulled that no handed 900. The place just exploded. It was so awesome seeing that. Kevin's reaction was just priceless, lol. RIP Kevin
A Dave Mirra retrospective, Mat's 900, and a bunch of recent big air clips. Where's Jay Miron, Trevor Meyer, Scotty Cranmer, and TJ Lavin? Those guys dominated for years.
@@mootkickee you don't think we didn't practice with foam pits back in the day? The new kids are former scooter kids and the bikes are a 1/4 the weight that they use to be 20 years ago.
As much as I love and live BMX, this video was SERIOUSLY LACKING call outs to say what year and what event. The producer's and editor's ineptitude make life BMXers like me sad to watch and not understand the full picture and context of each great moment.
@@melanieladbrooke1221 i did!?! couldn’t of put it better myself, being sad over a video that a newbie like me is in awe watching, that he forced himself to watch, then felt the need to express views instead of just not watching is pathetic
No Bestwick? No Mirra double backflip? No Cranmer front flip tailwhip? No BMX Dirt clips? X Games showing BMX no love. Missing a lot of great clips....Big Air is great and all but come on! SKB gets 26 mins, FMX gets almost 17, BMX gets barely over 10 mins with all this interview time.
i am 52 and live in the UK i got first BMX in 1981 I had stop riding 2012 health problems I was there when First pulled BMX 180 Backflip (aka Flair) Mansfield, UK KOV / King of Vert 1990 that blow my mind and now their pulling stuff like so much bigger
@@XGames Matt Hoffman! It was a straight up back flip with a 180. Zach Shaw was the first to do the carve style flair that is the default way to do them nowadays. Zach also did the first 360 backflip jump 'zakflip' back in 93
Shout out for Kyle Bennet and Dave Mirra. And some that are still here... Matt Hoffman, Todd Lyons, Jay Miron- watch his first double flip video. Super vintage looking for the 90’s. WooT!
My friend was trying to do a double backflip but was unable to land it properly. He somehow found this video. He got inspired by this video esp that 900 something trick (looked sacrey) and landed it like a king 🤴.
Nothing but love for the legends of BMX, stoked to make it onto the Top 25 list!❤️
Ryan Williams your amzing!
:D
That's me holding up the RWILLY plate..what a great night!
After i watched youre stunts i must subscribe to you you are insane mate
Stoked to have you on the list!
For miracle boy indeed, he was giving that one the horns from above

The no hander 900 by the "Condor" is timeless... Hoffman is a true legend! Hands down!
Facts bro, I remember watching it live and being amazed af.
Or arms out! In true condor form
@@Passaf1st Yeah, that's better!
No matter how many times I watch the 900 no hander it still blows me away
I remember when I got my first Hoffman bike. I thought I was the coolest kid in town.
Dave Mirra's Freestyle BMX was the BEST game on PS1. Such a legend in so many ways.
That game was the only reason I bought a ps1
Definitely one of my favorite games. The sublime song in it made it dope.
It was pretty cool! BMX games today are trash
i still have it :)
Dave Mirra 2 on the PS2 was better though

02:26 James Foster

Joe Johnson attempting triple whips in 1989 deserves a hats off too!

Please X Games, show BMX more love
Real BMX is coming in August.
X Games Cory nastazio for real BMX !
X Games that cool and everything, but I'm gonna need best trick and doubles back. Please?

Man it's so hard not to get teary eyed whenever they mention Mirra or K-Rob.
Hoffman's 900, and Robinson's double flair are both amazing.❤
Very nice to hear Scotty's voice, he makes it that more special
I've been stoked to watch all of these moments since 98 when I 1st watched the games! Here's to another 25 year's!!
My adolescence was very inspired by him! Rest in peace '' Miracle boy '' ...from Brasil

I wish I knew my Mirra did that to himself. He was such a HUGE inspiration in my life and I always wonder about him often. 💔❤

Big air clips are impressive, but just so boring. These guys practice in foam pits for months, it’s too robotic. Nothing like old Bmx days
@@mootkickee you don't think we didn't practice with foam pits back in the day? The new kids are former scooter kids and the bikes are a 1/4 the weight that they use to be 20 years ago.
The Hoffman wins hands down for the coolest executed trick. Mirra will always hold my respect but the no handed 9 is pure magic.

Matt ( the condor) Hoffman = an absolute 💯% legendary athlete ..real deal role model. It seems the
Older he gets, the better he performs..
Nice Rwilly is insane. Also it was kinda funny at 8:40 she couldn't put the medal around his neck🤣. Anyway sick video, sick athletes, sick event!!
So great to relive these moments in history.
I had the Mirra BMX game for PS2.
Most impossible game, but oh, so much fun.
Didn't know X Games was so cool! My country has been missing something.
Super stoked to see my uncle on here he was a very dominant champion of bmx and he considers himself the goat ryan williams and i do as well
Dave mirra legend
Those early x games in San Diego were something special...these guys were rockstars
I’m a skater kid but this is really cool to watch 💯
9:10 - 9:30 sounds like WWE commentary😂

Love the four clips you guys threw together for this one xDDD
never knew there was double vert
🙋🏻♂️ incredible 👾 👏 🇧🇷
The first one was something I’d see in a movie 👀
The original double flair HAS to be on this list.... As well as the first 900. Also kinda a bummer that Jamie didn't make it into this video.
