  • 'He’s an OAF like Harry!' Sarah Vine slams Prince Andrew ahead of film release | Palace Confidential
With a new Netflix film resurrecting the ghosts of his disastrous 2019 Newsnight interview, Prince Andrew once again finds himself under the spotlight. Royal insider and Daily Mail columnist Sarah Vine doesn’t mince her words as she lambasts the Duke of York for being his own worst enemy. Sarah argues that the Duke is an ‘entitled, spoilt oaf’, and draws parallels between him and Prince Harry.
As the spectre of Jeffery Epstein looms large once again over the reputation of Prince Andrew, Daily Mail Editor at Large Richard Kay argues the Duke’s days of basking in the limelight of frontline royal duties are over.
Also on this week’s edition of Palace Confidential, what does King Charles’ surprise Easter walkabout tell us about his cancer recovery? Richard Kay says the King’s interaction with the public is a positive sign.
And, from pariah to pillar of strength, the panel discuss Queen Camilla’s remarkable transformation from one of the most unpopular women in Britain to a linchpin of the Royal Family. Both Sarah Vine and Richard Kay have some starting first-hand insights into the King and Queen’s relationship. Plus, we look back at some of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s best moments meeting the public.

Richard Kay has the Opinion of Diana, but Diana used to change her mind often back then too. Lady Colin Campbell also knew Diana. Diana admitted to Lady C that she was the FIRST to cheat in that marriage with Barry Manakee. She also told Lady C that she didn’t blame Camilla for the way her marriage went. That it was all the “ yes” men surrounding her husband that she couldn’t stand. Diana actually asked Lady C to write her biography, but she wanted to be painted as a victim of the RF. Lady C declined the offer because she knew Diana wasn’t a victim. That’s when Diana went with Andrew Morton to write the book Instead. Diana left the RF because she said it was too stifling, always being told “ No, you can’t do that.” She didn’t really want to be Queen. I’m glad the truth is finally all coming out.

You choose to forget that it turns out that Diana was an absolute nightmare behind the scenes. As for that Panorama interview, she subsequently admitted that most of what she said was lies. She forgot to mention that by that time, there were 6 in their marriage. By 1986, Catherine had had at least three affairs, which she admitted to subsequently.
She also admitted that essentially all she fed to Andrew Mortan was lies. She said all she wanted to do was desrtroy Charles and try to prevent him from becoming King. He was her children's father. They loved their father just as much as their mother. William did not speak to her for quite some time after the Panorama interview because he was so angry with her for what she did to his father.
She has been dead for almost 27 years. As always happens with time, we get to know more and , and more of the whole truth.
As the years have gone on, I find myself increasingly infurriated when people suggest that it was all his fault that his marriage fell apart. It is now clear from many sources that Diana must bear a huge amount of the blame. You need to move on and stop peddling an old myth.
Diana did a lot of great things. But it is often said that charity begins at home. I can no longer bring myself to feel that outways the destruction she often brought to those who loved and the other people around her.

As Harry brings up his mother everytime he opens his mouth, it has caused many people to take another look at Diana. Apparently Diana was not the Saint we have been led to believe.
Camilla was vilified for years and took all the shit thrown at her without complaint. She has emerged as a person of great humility, and grace. She is a Queen that exudes, dignity, empathy and kindness. God save the Queen.

Indeed, people forget that Diana was very unpopular just before her death. Nearly everyone was sick to death with her gallivanting about, playing with the media, and playing victim.
Markle is playing the same game (with Harry in tow to try to make it authentic), however unless MM dies tragically (no wish on my part) she’ll remain unpopular, just as Diana would have.

Diana was emotionally unstable which is unfortunately a big part of the reason her marriage failed. They did love each other but Diana was insanely argumentative and temperamental, extremely jealous and wanted attention every second of the day. She exhausted Charles (who is the opposite to that). After some years Charles turned to Camilla, his old love (found comfort through many conversations), and the marriage quickly went downhill from there.

Both Diana's and Charles grandmothers wouldn't allow them to marry they arranged Diana and Charles wedding so there would be an heir to the throne. Diana knew Charles loved Camilla but married him anyway. I think Queen Camilla is doing a wonderful job as is Princess Anne and the rest of the working Royal family. King Charles is a lovely caring man who's waited all his life to be King. I really hope he kicks cancers butt and rules for many years to come. This will give Prince William a chance to do his royal duties and be there for his beautiful wife and children. For all his faults she forgets that the "oaf" and "annoying little brother" has not trashed his family but has served his country with great distinction in the Navy - particularly during the Falklands war. Perhaps she can save her scorn for her ex-husband who has played his part over the past 14 years in the ruination of the UK and will hopefully soon find himself cast into oblivion in the same manner she wishes for Prince Andrew. No comparison, sorry, no comparison. I think The Palace should help him to find a meaningful activity. Not as a working royal, but something that would keep him happy. NO spouse would be immune to those verbal barbs. Prince Harry is very.much his mother in that spiteful way. Secondly, is it really an unbiased, objective conversation with Richard Kay talking about Diana, Charles and Camilla? Diana played him and succeeded getting the coverage slant every time. Again, Prince Harry is a master at that too.

I had not given Camilla two thoughts pro or negative until Diana's son reminded me to think of her in his book SPARE. Now, with those thoughts I discovered things about Diana I had not known before; her love of the press, setting things up secretly with the press, her many, many different affairs and her insecurities. With all of this "new" information I only learned because of HARRY book and in spite of HARRY == I now see the whole situation different and have come to respect and admire Camilla for keeping her head down and doing the job. Sadly, being the same age as Diana, now, in my old age -- I can see her immaturity, manipulation of people and dare I say her vengfulness in getting revenge on anyone who (in her mind) dare "crossed" her. Basically, Diana was a "hot mess" and her "antics" caused the sad early end of her life. Never back in the eighties would you hear me say... "poor Charles, forced to marry a teenager who dropped out of school at age 16" YES, because of SPARE... upon my researched I learned things about Diana I wished I had not.... but have put so many things into focus that I understand and admire he stuck with Camilla.
