  • 'Prince Edward had to explain WHO Prince Harry was!' | We profile the new Duke of Edinburgh at 60
As the royal family has evolved in recent years with the death of the Queen and Prince Philip and the departure of both Prince Andrew and Prince Harry, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh are playing an increasingly important role in the family.
To celebrate Prince Edward’s 60th birthday, the Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English tells us about the man now known as the Duke of Edinburgh. Rebecca recently spent the day with Edward, speaking to both friends of his and the man himself. She tells us how he sees his role, the importance of his immediate family, and what happened when a young fan asked him who Prince Harry was…
Read Rebecca English's fascinating profile of Prince Edward here:

Loved this post about prince Edward! As an American, I’m impressed by Edward, Sophie, Lady Louise and James, Earl of Wessex. They are good people and a big boom to the Royal Family. They more than make up for the whiney, selfish Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who should be totally barred from the Royal Family as they are too destructive and can’t be trusted. King Charles is fortunate to have the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh in the fold.

@@AnonyMous-kd5iz: I fear you have missed the point entirely. The King, by his actions, has drawn a clear line between Harry as a blood member of his own family (which he will always be) and Harry as a integral part of the "working" Royal Family (which is the State side) and from which he has functionally and effectively removed him completely, bit by bit, and without any great drama. No HRH prefix, no residence on Crown property, no IPP status, no special 27/7 Security protection for him & family, requirement to give King 28 days notice of visiting the UK to have normal Met Police Royal Protection Officers, cut off from the Civil List, prohibited from ever wearing his military uniform, removal of Military patronages, removal of other RF based patronages...............and there will be more to come. Do you think Harry is a "happy bunny?"

This was such a nice surprise! I love Edward & Sophie! Both of them radiate positive vibes. You can see it in their smiles that match their eyes & when they are listening to whomever it is that is speaking to them, there is zero doubt that they are listening to every word & truly taking it all in. You can't fake a vibe, no matter how good of a an actor/actress you are. They aren't just showing up & shaking some hands for the cameras & bouncing. How do we know this? Because of how little press coverage their working engagements get. When their work brings them more attention than usual, we get a good indication of how they interact with their patronages. They have had a good chunk of their patronages for approx 2 decades, where they've quietly carried on their work for their charities for w/o much fanfare & very little publicity. Unlike those that will only perform charitable deeds if they can publicize them, while looking for an ass pat for each & every one of their charitable acts, whether it be a financial contribution to a cause or showing up to help deliver meals to the elderly, during a global pandemic, it's the Duke & Duchess of Edinburgh that are an accurate depiction of what philanthropy looks like in action.

Well, done! These two are doing such good work continuing and picking up the slack while the royal family is getting medical attention and recouping, so that they can go back to their duties that I am just elated that you took the time to talk about Prince Edward & Sophia. To shine the light on him, I’m sure over in the UK that the citizens over there don’t forget about them because they probably seeing him here more of them than we do here on the other side of the pond in the US. But I love hearing the stories and the background of the royal family, their cousins not just the king and queen. The history of it all is prettiest astonishing! So I thank you for sharing the information that you do the history that you do! Makes me want to come visit the UK even more than what I already do just so I can see an experience the historyupfront and personal and close. Again thank you for sharing you did Prince Edwards 60th birthday justice.
