Leave this young man alone.James Wessex is the most dignified young royal, as is his sister. He and his sister are the most personable. They have parents who are respectful, love the Sovereign and monarchy and believe in duty to the Crown and the people. They asked the Queen if they could raise their children without the burden of the HRH titles they are entitled to. They are such lovely young people. Their HRH's are in abeyance, such a direct contrast to the dreadful actress from California, Meghan Markle who pressurised a grieving King and were relentless in their pursuit.

@@lsmith9249 with respect to you, it is not utter rubbish! The late Queen agreed with The, then Earl and Countess of Wessex, that the children would be titled as offspring of an Earl. Prince Edward and Sophie wanted their children to live a normal life and they have brought them up to realise that they may have to work one day. I suggest you look to RUclips and see the interview with Sophie. However you also need to be aware of letters Patent from George V, that the children and grandchildren in the male Line would enjoy the style of HRH. Sophie herself says in the interview I am directing you to, that it is up to both children when they reach the age of 18, whether they take up the HRH titles, which are in abeyance. The Duchess of Edinburgh states that it is unlikely that either children will take up the suffix and we are now waiting to see if James will take up his HRH when he is 18.. so far, his sister has not taken up hers and continues to be styled as the daughter of an earl.
Before you rubbish things, I suggest you research before making search, dogmatic statements, and others are right leave this family alone. They don’t search to be highlighted, they just want to lead their lives, supporting the crown without drawing attention to themselves.

except for the Prince of Wales other sons of our Sovereign are bestowed
      inheritable titles
and the Duke of York title will merge back to the crown because Andrew hasn't got a son to inherit it

@@lsmith9249 That is incorrect. BBC reported in the article "King Charles grants Prince Edward Duke of Edinburgh title" dated 10 March 2023: _The title of Duke of Edinburgh will not be hereditary, so when Edward dies it will not go to his children, but could be given to another senior member of the Royal Family._
In _The Gazette_ Official Public Record publication date 15 March 2023 Issue 63995 Page 4994: _HIS MAJESTY THE KING has been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the Great Seal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, granting unto His Majesty’s Brother, His Royal Highness Prince Edward Antony Richard Louis, Earl of Wessex and Forfar, K.G., G.C.V.O., _*_for life_*_ the dignity of Duke of Edinburgh._

I believe the current Duke of Edinburgh has it for life simply because Charles, for whatever reason, decided to confer it on his brother as a life title. The last person to hold it, though briefly, was Charles himself when he inherited it from his father Philip, then Duke of Edinburgh, at his death. So it wasn't a life title then. Then the title was absorbed back into the Crown when Queen Elizabeth passed away, and Charles became the King, the embodiment in flesh and blood of the Crown But it did first pass to Charles. That's why Queen Elizabeth couldn't confer it directly on to Edward, because it passed to Charles. But apparently there was an agreement some time ago that after the previous Duke of Edinburgh passed away, and then the Queen followed him, Charles being the sovereign who succeeded his mother and before that the heir that inherited the duchy of Edinburgh from his dad, would confer the title on his younger brother at Edward's birthday last year. But he specified that the title he conferred this time would expire on Edward's death. So his son James, whom his father now lets use the lesser titles of the earldoms of Wessex and Forfar, will not receive the title of Duke when his father passes away. There's nothing intrinsic to the title Duke of Edinburgh that makes it a life title. It's been (I believe) used as a title for members of the British royal family several times since its first creation in the 18th century when George I conferred it on his oldest grandson Frederick. Frederick passed it on to his eldest son George when he predeceased his father George II. When he died in 1760, George Duke of Edinburgh became George III and the title was absorbed back into the Crown. It has been conferred a couple of times since then, including of course when George VI conferred it on his new son-in-law Philip Mountbatten when he married his daughter.
