Thanks a lot for this kit tour, very imressive. One question: how did you manage the ventilation in the room? If it's have to be isolated from the outer world. I see no sweat in your covers (although the tempos ARE hot), so it is not hot on the inside?
Cheers for the interest and feedback 🙏😎🙏. So I live the UK (unfortunately) so it's pretty crap weather and temperature unless it's mid Summer. My booth is double insulated and it's built inside my garage which is also insulated so the temp is always the same. Ventilation however is a bit of an issue though. At the moment I have to just open the door after about 30 mins of playing due to lack of Oxygen 😂. I am looking at plumbing in a system in the future though good call 🤘
Ben, that's outstanding! Not having an ounce of musical ability anywhere within me I didn't realise how much fine tuning and fettling goes into all of this, it's almost a science on its own to get everything setup for your style. Your musical ability with so many instruments as well as drums is outstanding and I've always been impressed by it and I hope this takes you to many more years of success in your metal journey, especially knowing how hard you work and how dedicated you are in other aspects of your life. You're a legend 🤘🤘
Excellent. On point with everything you mentioned. Mesh heads aren't the responsive, "easy playing" heads people think they are. Also, completely understand about the tinnitus. A quite unwelcomed disablement for a musician. Thanks for the video, I finally had time to sit and watch it all. Cheers!
Very nice stuff! I watched the original and I'm assuming the missing picture was the reason it was re-uploaded? Either way it's a cool setup. Always thought the technology we have today is fascinating (talking about how far drum heads for e-kits have come and software etc) Now is better than ever to get a good sounding mix as easy as possible in my opinion at least. Hope to see some more sick covers soon :)
Excellent work! You’re an inspiration to build something that’s acoustic/electric. I’ve been debating about it for years and it’s finally time to do it. Thanks for the videos.
Awesome bro!! Understood absolutely everything you said & relate to myself through my drum journey the past 33 years. Totally inspired me to get my own ass moving again & share, record & get feedback on some new videos. Thanks so much man. 🖤🥁🤘👊🥁🥁
Brilliant video and a very unique setup. You’re always gonna get flak from close minded people about this that or the other, I think the pads are cool and it’s whatever works at the end of the day! Next time Mithras is in London I’ll come out for sure
I recently discovered your channel and your bands too🤘🏻 simply amazing I also use electronic drums but I've been thinking about using cymbals and acoustic bass drum just like you did Keep posting hails from Brazil👊🏻🔥
Does that drum module have multiple outputs so that you can send each pad to its own track for recording? I'm thinking of doing real cymbals with triggered drums but with my roland module I would have to pan the snare and toms into 2 tracks and wouldn't be able to apply effects separately in my daw.
Nice setup there matey. How would you say this compares to your original practice kit setup with play-ability etc? Do you prefer this hybrid version or just trying something different?
This is a fascinating setup and I appreciate you going through it. I have a couple of questions. I saw an interview with Nicholas Barker saying that he used a triggered snare drum for a festival show when he was with Dimmu Borgir and he found it to be strange due to the lack of volume coming off the pad itself. I was wondering if you encountered that issue when playing pads live? Also, I own an electronic drum kit and it works quite well with headphones, but if I run them out through speakers I've found that the latency between when I hit the drum and when I hear the sound coming from the speakers into my ears really throws me off. Have you had issues with latency when using pads live despite using in ears?
ddrum electronic drums always had better dynamic triggering. That's why I'm impressed with 2box. But like ddrum(their Dad!) their cymbal triggering is not quite as good as the drums.
Thanks a lot for this kit tour, very imressive.

Great video, often wondered about the hybrid kit. Your right who doesn’t love a good bomb blast. Going to check out Mithras later as well. Cheers

@@benwhitedrums Thanks. It does sound better all-round for you and the live music. Has a classic look too. Nice one, thanks for the reply.
