Just heard these great speakers today at a hifi show. And wow, they sound incredible!! The build quality looks and feels top notch. You could definitely hear the bi-amps do their work, because the relatively small monitors produce a lot of music 'mass'. They had the floorstander Lumina V's next to them and most people in the room were confused about which of the two they were listening to. I never heard Sonus Faber live before, but i'm instantly in love with this brand and am hoping to buy some in the near future.
Great content 👌 👏 Quick question, is there a chord that connects these together🤔, if so how long is it, would these be good for movies & could i make these part of a multi room setup by connecting something to them 🤔 Thanks again 😊
I loved getting a listen of these at Audio Advice Live a couple of months ago. Pretty sure it was just a prototype, but was very impressed with them for the price!
Excellent video, thanks. I'm shopping for a new system for mostly movies and occasional music. A pair of Duettos on stands plus a sub-roofer is $5k+. I like the simplicity. But can I get a better sound experience by spending my $5k on a more conventional 5.2.2 system? Thanks.
Thank you. The Duetto combo would be excellent for 2 channel but if you are into action movies you might be happier with a true 5.1 system. Please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to discuss.
Thanks for the review; are the woofers 4.5" or 5.25" per the link to specs? Also, where are the frequency details? $4K, folks should know those basics. Cheers
Good catch, the pre production specs we had showed a 4.5" woofer, but yes the current page shows 5.25", probably just a difference in the way they measured it. They quote 37-30K but there is not +/-
You could use your own DAC, but the signal will still be processed by the internal DAC for the crossovers. But the better source you feed any piece of gear, the better it sounds. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice Thanks for the reply. I think I get it. The problem is it's got the Sabre chip which is problematic with Samsung Frame TVs (sound is cutting off every few seconds and this issue is well known amongst Samsung tv users). Another solution would be to get DAC integrated with amp and just buy passive Sonus Faber speakers like the Sonetto II g2. Would be great if one day you could make a review of some nice DAC/amp one piece combo.
@@storck08 Ahh, now we understand your use case. You should be ok with an external DAC going into the RCA inputs we think, as all of the handshaking causing the audio to drop would be handled at your external DAC. And does this occur with HDMI Arc or Toslink?
Has anyone heard the phono preamp on these? You can spend this much on just a high-end preamp, so I wonder how good or bad the built-in one is. A buzzing cabinet in a speaker's not what I would call an ideal place to put a sensitive preamp, but if anyone would do it right these guys would.
Man this is great looking speaker, I hope it comes in white eventually! On another note, does this guy know its not SONOS FABER? There is a U in the name!
Honestly, there really aren't many. Of course, we wish they were a little cheaper, but by no means do we think they aren't worth the money. Everything else was really pretty awesome when we did our testing!
… And, they are really cheap! … Only kidding. This effort by Sonus Faber defies the purpose; it's way more complicated, and more expensive to use than a dedicated integrated amp (with all connections and inputs) attached to passive speakers. Plus, the manual says Duettos have AB class amp for the tweeter, and D class amp powering the mid woofer. So the music we finally hear is literally aural patchwork without unity.
We think if you heard them you would change your opinion. Even with the different amps, having the system fully active makes a huge difference. We agree for the puriest, the integrated and passive speakers is likely the way to go, but there is a large new market of people who want to enjoy music with components that are beautiful and take up minimal space. Thanks for watching
The wood look on these is terrific. Finally a powered speaker that looks high end, and sounds that way too.
Absolutely! They look and sound incredible!
Sonus Faber really knows how to make a great looking speaker.
That is a fact. These are incredible

Heard these at Audio Advice Live. Love them. I've got some other powered speakers but will sell them so I can get these. Nice review!
Good choice! You won't be disappointed!
So unique, very sleek!
Indeed!
Great content 👌 👏

These connect to each other wirelessly and will be great for movies!!
Those are really attractive looking powered speakers. I love the finish.
They are both beautiful and sound wonderful
Great introduction. Do these support Airplay 2?
Thank you, yes, they support Airplay2. We appreciate you watching

Thanks for sharing. We’ve been very impressed ourselves.
Love Sonus Faber! Can’t wait to audition them.
They are very good!
Extremely impressed with these!
DO you need to set TV Sound to PCM though? I set my TV to "Auto 2" and that seems to be fine?
That should work!

Thank you for following up 👍
For someone who has kids im glad they have this setup for the battery .. there have been kids that have died because they swallowed those batteries
Good point, thanks for sharing
I need this in my life.
They would be a wonderful addition!
Indeed. They would make my life more harmonious.@@AudioAdvice
Can you bypass the built in DAC? Can I use my own DAC and then connect it with RCA cables to the speakers? Would that work?
You could use your own DAC, but the signal will still be processed by the internal DAC for the crossovers. But the better source you feed any piece of gear, the better it sounds. Thanks for watching

Thanks very much!
Wow I love a pair to replace my old Bose speakers. I love music. ❤❤
These would be a great choice for sure.
They are beautiful
Yes, they certainly are! Thanks for watching
Do they sound better than Naim Muso 2 ( second generation)?

It is equivilant to an entry level one from Pro-Ject, but its not the end all of phono preamps, more of an entry point.
Great looking speakers!
Yes they are, thanks!

It is a beautiful speaker. Thanks for watching
Could you use a hdmi splitter for the Omina and the Duetto’s with a sub and have a 3.1 system?
That's an interesting solution that we haven't tried but we do not think that will work properly.
What are the negatives?

Who just came from the AA turntable giveaway??
I heard these at Audio Advice Live as well. They are incredible. In my mind they are better looking and sound better than the KEFs.
Thanks for sharing, they do sound really good
Build quality wise, even though Made In China is still that solid Sonus Faber quality people love?
Yes, we think so.
How tall are the stands for these?
29.1" tall
@@AudioAdvice and that's the only height they sell them at?
@@djhmax09 sorry, yes
@@AudioAdvice thank you for the information
@@AudioAdviceanother question, did you test them in the nearfield (ie. On the desk)? If so, was it good?
Price in India 🇮🇳?
Sorry, we dod not know
Beauties
Yes they are.
Vegan leather not leather
