      Him and Ace Frehley. You think Keith's laugh was hilarious, you should hear how Ace Frehley cracked himself up silly with Gene Simmons getting annoyed by his laugh on a 1979 segment of the Tomorrow show with Tom Snyder.

    People write about The Who hating each other but they were like a bunch of troubled brothers really. The sense of loss was strong when both Keith and John died.

      I think his comments about Keith get overblown. I think he’s still bitter about it & he’s still angry at Keith for not getting help sooner. He went into a dark downward spiral after Keith died, but at the same time, Keith’s death & his emotional recovery helped him to move on with his life & leave a dark period behind. He loved Keith, but Keith was impeding his musical & personal development

    • @allbottledup9513

      @Stanly Stud It’s not BS. Keith was a wonderful guy, but where he was at the end of his life was literally holding back all of The Who, especially Townshend.

      @@mrskinszszsWho Are You would’ve been another tremendous album has Keith not already been so far gone. That’s the point. Where he was at the end was holding them back, not him in general. Not even gonna dignify that second claim with a response.

      @allbottledup9513 the song writing for the most part was weak. And you don't have to, the truth speaks for itself. Name a classic album after Moon died, or anything that comes remotely close. I'll wait.

    Pete says he went with Bill Curbishly to the doctor to get his ears tested, and Keith is saying "Terrible, terrible ears," laughing about it. The doctor said Townshend's hearing is damaged and Curbishly asked the doctor if Pete should give up, and throw his career out the window. The doctor suggested learning to lip read, and that's what Keith is laughing at in the video.

  • @mreldude
    @mreldude 14 лет назад +9

    Roger was a working class guy, the Who for him was as much a way out of poverty and obscurity as it was a band. Pete and John were not that. They weren't "toughs" from the rough neighborhoods of industrial England. Pete in particular was the inquisitive, insightful, sensitive artiste. And John had a side of him that was like that as well. Keith was sort of this crazy goofball, probably a bit insecure, that just wanted to find a place where he could be his crazy self.

      Can't imagine where he'd have found another such place if not for the kit. Demolition crew? I guess he was that too, but that was more hobby than occupation. Enormously expensive hobby...

    what i found sad about this video, is that pete and keith are/were the same age, and yet, while pete looks so young and alive in this video, Keith looks so, aged, and sickly. While he remains one of the best rock drummers of this era, and best characters ever to be thrown in front of the media, to see him, but a few years before his death is... sad. It reminds me of how much greater he could have been, had he been able to hold his shit together

    @DrewsAnimation: That incident was when the Who played the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in 1967. Judging by how they both look here, I'd say this was sometime in 1977, about a year before Keith passed on, and a decade of course into Pete's hearing problems.

    So it's no wonder they clashed with Roger. They probably thought Roger was a brute who didn't understand their humor, their art, or them, and felt that he was to some degree just muscling his way into the band; maybe Pete even felt Roger was using him, appropriating his artistic vision to make a career for himself. Roger probably thought they were arrogant, pretentious, "art freak" type wimps. Hell, they'd kicked Roger out of the band and only brought him back because My Generation became a hit.
