Hey there! It's true that Wicca incorporates a lot of symbols from various cultures. It's part of what makes it so diverse and interesting! The blending of traditions and symbols can sometimes feel like borrowing, but it also reflects Wicca's inclusive approach to spirituality. Always cool to see different perspectives on this!
Wicca is almost completely constructed from closed practices. The idea of evolving the old ways is not inherently bad, however many new age spiritualists are not doing it in the right way. Hellenic, Norse, and Celtic paganism are open practices, so the ideas taken from them are fine, but Wicca steals from many other cultures that are not okay with noninitiates using their magick, which can even be dangerou. I am a Chaos Witch, which means I have a similar process of taking the old ideas and using them with a modern framework, but that doesn't mean I have the right to practice something that I haven't been initiated into, or is not open to outsiders. Through Chaos magick it can be understood that all gods are spirits of the Astral Plane, meaning they exist in only a spiritual form, but not all of them are as welcoming as the Hellenic gods. As witchcraft is a personal practice, we have to be respectful of magick that is simply not for us.
Wicca, and many other new age spiritualist groups, also have roots in racism, sexism, and many other bigoted ideas. Similar to how Odinism is inherently genocidal, Wicca is full of oppressive ideas like eugenics. It is a part of their teachings, and can not be removed without the destruction of the entire practice. It has a corrupt framework, so any Wiccan ideas can not be trusted.
We don’t actually know that the labrys represented matriarchy. We have no idea if they were matriarchies or not , that’s just a guess because they feature women on their frescos and there was a statue of a woman holding snakes
So basically everything “represents life death and rebirth” ? This is pretty shallow. The ancient world was much more interesting! Basically you found a way to allegorize instead of interpret symbolism (with the logic of feminist propaganda historically designed to divide large groups of people after WWI so the government could step in and unite them). But understanding pagan symbolism is a lot better and a lot worse than slapping the same basic explanation on every symbol you find
Lol i see this alot! Woth peoples zodiac signs, i swear, different people will claim their sign means, lets say, confident, and others will claim the same about their sign. Basically, i made a joke lile "people will think every symbol means the same thing" lol For examlple, to Christians, all symbols that arent a cross or a fish, mean Satan and evil 😂
@@Markynava777 our day and age has lost the ability to understand symbolism for sure. Basically if you suffer from chronological snobbery (“people in the past are all stupid just because they came before”) you’re just kind of screwed when it comes to typology and symbolism. That’s like everyone alive today basically. I will take exception and say there’s an orthodox icon carver named Jonathan pageau who has an amazingly good grasp on symbolism and has taught me a ton through his YT channel called “the symbolic world”. You should check out his movie interpretations as a place to start. Really enjoyable and profoundly accurate
Yes because apparently every culture but this one understood that the death spoken of is a nonphysical death and rebirth as something greater to move on from this archonic riddled chaotic illusion that's divine but been heavily corrupted in the past 2000 years.

Just like so many people, assume the worst without knowing the truth. There is good and evil. Not just evil. Just because other people worship other gods and deities that does not mean they are evil that is not for other people to condem or judge as long as they don't harm you or them selves people should mind their own business. People believe what they want, which is their own personal freedom. Again, as long as they don't harm themselves or others, it's all good. Everyone is on their own journey through life. That doesn't mean you have to join in with peoples beliefs, but it is good to remember you have your own beliefs and you wouldn't want some disrespecting your beliefs.
@SymbolSage Yes, and with all the diversity in the world, galaxies, and universe, it is better to give someone a chance to tell you who they are instead of assuming thing's about them and ending up wrong and then hurting someone. Just remember, there are those who don't always have good intentions and others who do have good intentions. Don't assume anything. Let them show you who they are and tell you that is proof.
Cernunnos has absolutely nothing to do with baphomet or any satanic symbolism!!! Au Contraire!!! Cernunnos is the protector of the forests and the anymals in it, agriculture and hunting!! His antlers stant for his connection with the ether!!! In his left hand, the devils side, he holds the Horned Snake(devil) by the throat, keping him under control!!! Cernunnos is wearing a Keltic Tork around his neck, pointing out his status of nobility!!! In his right hand he holds a Tork for somebody... Those Keltic Torks often are made of kopper and are excellent conductors of energy!!! Cernunnos is a deer!!! Not a buck!!!
Satanic imagery is largely pagan images that have been cast as evil by Christian’s. The devil is just a distortion of pan, who is related to other horned gods like cernunous
Well Baphomet was just demonized, because the Hittites worshipped him as a symbol of fertility and the Jews started to worship him too, so they needed to stir the people back to the unseeable myth. That deity is so old, that nobody knows how old he is. Do not forget if you believe in the devil, you have to come from the three Abrahamic religion or from the Zoroastrians who invented him. Polytheistic religions don’t believe in Satan. They believe that some Gods are not good for humans, but ultimate evil doesn’t exist.
Well, there is a little problem with women having ritual sex with goats down through time. Also bulls and horses. See The Dying God by David Livingstone, 2002.

It will take you down a trail of knowledge and fascination. This is fine as an intro to symbols, but you can dig deep, even following the threads past the time of the very inception of the "traditions" who adopted them. Keep asking "why" and it will take you toward the source of anything. Clearly you are a lover of knowledge, and I think you will find satisfaction in what you will find :) Peace.
The Triquetra its orgins are unkown it was adopted by Modern Neo pagans and Wiccans and most likey made the by Christians the triskele you got right though but the oldest symbol is found in Hinduism so Indo European and Indian even though it is highly associated with iron age Celts they got it from The Indo European Migrations and The Awen Symbol has nothin to do with Gender or energy of gender. The 3 pathways is The In between & The otherworld & Rebirth Also Sunwheel is Life Death Rebirth and associated with The Sun in some cultures Sun Deities using it as a Calendar System is Modern . In some cultures it means Healing as well as Balance of life

Behind the scenes everything is geometry. At their base its kind of pure relations or above that, or better around that, is a kind of pure mind - Pure Space. Some one call it the 9 veils of Conciousness, 1st illusion of political Partie, and social educated behaviour 2nd the Organisations behind the scenes, familes, secret agencies, Organisations, sects, Religions, Metaphysik, worldviews, Collection of stories goddes, cultural Believes, Then there is a realm of several entities somewhere in Spiritual World, fays, devas, elbs etc.. Above that comes somewhere the realm or veil of the dragons. Later Above that its a veil of spells, Symbols, Pure math and geometry... Thats why a special pattern is needet for doing acting in one of the 'veils' u have to Do it from the higher realm. Like u have to act like a Soldier if u want someone to frighten of, or at least as a Psycho. If u want to influence, rule or 'dominate' something u have to take actions in the Level above theirs! Well, one out of a Million is just braking through the first veil, but it gets more today knew whats behind that political System.. Maybe if the first veils gets completely understand from whole humans, we reach a new Era, for Sure! At last whe are pure Energie or life force, but mostly trapped inside the first veil. Magicans must knew this Realms, its up to 'Ten Worlds' from which our well known World is just the first! They are all have a veil between or a border. Its a lot of Personal Power (personal free usable Chi) needed to breach up through the worlds behind /above. Most people dont have, cause they are trapped from the actors in that politic illusionary drama. Most just reach the 4th realm, but for the Real wizards they are able to go All through up to the tenth. U will find them if u look precisely. When i find the Text about that veils again, i will add them.

There are variations of the houroborus ,showed with 2sankes eating each other . A red and a white one ,if i remember right. Very often snakes also meant as dragons. So snakes and dragons represent the same on a otherscale. Some say dragons are developed snakes Refering to the stories of southamerica maya especially tolteks. Keep flowing like water friends! Edit ,...variations exist with 2, 3 or even more snakes ( or dragons). Its like with the symbol of the rose can represent the position of progress on the alchemic transformation or way to wisdom. It related to what is menat to use for. 4snakes could used if u want to refer to the 4 directions , 4 main elements, to master the interaction and master them to gain power over the 5th element which is representet from the circle itself.
The truth in the pentagram in mind is 5 elements, not 4 , we do know for some for the triple moon and the tree of life . But only path you know from knowledge.
This is how I knew Wicca was fake. I was told there were four elements, and I tried to work with those symbols, but I got a message from the universe - four plus one. Life is the fifth. Spirit is fair enough.
The pentagram is based on venus' 8 year cycle. This was very important for navigation. This lead it to be thought of as lucky and the babylonians used to mark food containers with it to keep it fresher for longer. Later they were used to form code due to persecution. These symbols mean many many things. Each one can have many meanings within one system and then different ones in another system. You are mostly telling the modern meanings as opposed to their origional meanings. Ask a Templar or high level Mason; or a magus, if you can find one (a REAL one.)
That’s a great point! The circle with a plus is a powerful symbol for many cultures, including Native Americans, representing the four directions and the connection between them. Thanks for adding that insight!
If you ever listen to anything while reading comments, let it be this - go to borlest and read the book whispers of manifestation, then come back and thank me
Nearly all of these are contemporary, modern associations with both very recent and only a few old appropriated motifs. This video both disappointed and angered me. No wonder people misunderstand paganism.
Hey, I'm really sorry you feel that way. It's a very short video, and our aim was to give a very quick overview of the most well-known pagan symbols. Wicca isn't ancient. It was put together by Gardener in the 60s on the isle of man with a bit of help from Alister Crowley and ceremonial magic to fill in the gaps, which were large and numerous. No formal witchcraft system has ever been found in its entirety. A lot of the symbols were adopted from other systems. Mainly, as I say, medieval ceremonial magic (which did the same in the middle ages. It's all based on Templar like knowledge like the Kaballah.) Most just wanna play dress up and LARP.
I respect your goals of bringing or attempting to explain theae Symbol's,, as your well aware, some words and symbols are doomed for misunderstanding,, Either by corrupted efforts or closed minds,, Example,, the Term or Phrase SKINHEAD,, origins madder very little to most people,, they have decided before you've even begun to explain.. cheers for your efforts... @∅
Yes, during the period from around 300 to 150 BCE, the pentagram was used as a symbol for Jerusalem, represented by the five Hebrew letters ירשלם spelling its name. This highlights its historical significance and its varied use across different cultures and contexts. Thanks for sharing your viewpoint.
Well , Symbols Yes! This is a very nice compilation! Some i knew very Well bevore, some i like more than others. But always looking for other stories about them. Sometimes their linked to my own collection of stories, sometimes not yet. The lesser popular like the awen is just not so often in Focus, like the cross or the swastika u See them at every corner from various variations. If i like or not. So i knew most about them to tell ppl the stories behind it, and how they missuse it for their 'dumbness'. The high - cross is missinterpreted as well. No wonder for a 'Religion' made out of lies and murder. Or how much was killed from church in the name of God? Tell me at least ONE murder u know in the name of Satan!? Got u!? So who is the true Evil side u like to choose? Well lets forget about this .. Whats more 'important' Well i was more going to tell about other things . From my perspective something i should mention here is that the wild-man, the horned one ore horned God is most likely the same as the green man! It represents also the two sides of Nature a Peacefull, harmonic , splendid and life bearing Side and also an destructive competive aggressive and unlogical dark creepy side. The Satan in the Bible looks more like the good old god Pan from Greek. Represented also in the Symbol of the 3faced god ,which is a version of the green man ,...which is the same like Cernunos or 'Herne the Hunter', its also the devil, which is mostly like PaN with it nymphes, some also call it Odin (but here iam not 100%sure but it makes kind of sense at least), in Irish and GBritish also well known as Dagda or Dayda .,which is realated to the Oak _in gällic' Duir'_ . Means He is the King of the Greenworld like the Oak (duir). Duir as a name for Oak lead to the Name - Druid and means a man that have the wisdom and knowledge of the trees ,which includes the whole 'nature' cause the trees are connected with all life forms in all 'realms'! Their have relationship with the mineral-world earth , all plants and fungies, also animals and Humans. Short, a Druid can also interpreted like 'a man of knowing'. At this point i must mention that the Triskele has a 4th Realm related to the Fire element and its the triangle in the Middle wich is expandet and reach in the deepest other realms Its the Lifeforce itself in form of Life, Conciousness, Fire which Warms as chemical reaction or in any Form whatever. Its the line making the symbol too, kind of cause its a lifeforce that createt it! Well My view is that the agypts got their knowledge more from ' the dog of the north ' as most people may think! Not the other way round! Their just where the ones that was addicted with typing symbols as kind of tapetry for later generations. The people who knew, know all wisdom exist in the other realm! No need for writing so much, if u can 'see' it with a kind of atheric journey urself. Much they do was to train the mind. Tesla, as he self told, gets well instructed, while his lucid dreaming, from various otherworld entities. The megalithic Tombs around Europe are also a hint. Thot Was an Athlantean from Hyperboreer, Atlantis is one Kingdom in that old Empire around the Northpole. At this time the Northpole Was at Tibet for quite a while and shiftet later. But Atlantis Was in the Atlantic around the Azores and reached also to Northsea. There is a scientific evidence that ones there was a Landbridge from europe to North america. Sure maybe not complete with several ice connections, but far more crossable for walking Species, like the special Kind of an ancient exticted Elk, they found in Europa AND in Northamerica. They couldnt cross that large ICE Region without food? or could they? I guess not. Well the last thing is Hard to dig out, but at least the half of scientist believe there was not an ICE age at this time, but a warm period around 12K BC.. Maybe they just played to much with their weather science and magic in this late times of Atlantis 😑 Well i have read ur asking about going deeper and thats why i found out, that my comment under ur Video is missing. so i checked my notifications-app and found that copy, that i missed to finish yet. But here it is and hopefully it was not too contrary but additional! Have a great time, fitting all the parts together! Best Greetings from Saxony Germania.

Irish Horned God may have it's roots in the celtic great elk.
The crescent moon ( Right) Sister/ the maiden
Thr waning crescent moon ( Left) Grandmother/ The Crone
I hate to be that guy but It's pronounced Kernanos not Sernanos.
The hard "C" in Celtic is the same as in Cernanos.
I notice a strong pattern here among different symbols, the theme of living beings and the universe itself all being connected to each other
R those phases on the Roswell stone
Man legit doesn’t talk about Mjolnir or Valknut
There are so many Pagan symbols out there - we've picked the major ones :)
But to not even touch on Norse symbology is pretty poo.
Just saying.@@SymbolSage
Ok noted. We do have an entire playlist on Norse mythology and symbology though, so please check that out :)
Or swastika.
I love this video.thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
We don’t actually know that the labrys represented matriarchy. We have no idea if they were matriarchies or not , that’s just a guess because they feature women on their frescos and there was a statue of a woman holding snakes
The fact that nobody talks about the book whispers of manifestation on borlest speaks volumes about how people are stuck in a trance
Triple goddess on its side is PHI...
Not all witches are Wiccan ,
I could have sworn that the Pentagram is a five pointed star with the middle point facing down, with the middle point of a Pentacle facing upwards?
That's an inverted pentagram.
@@SymbolSage oh
What is this triple goddess thing???
Maiden.Mother Crone. Represents moon phases ,seasons and stages of a woman's life.
This was quite interesting.
Fascinating
People who forgotten more than what they remember, burn birch tree is the curse thyself, you're not supposed to do it at any cost.
Elder be ye Ladys tree. Burn it not or cursed ye will be.
it's kinda crazy how nobody is talking about the book whispers of manifestation on borlest
Thank you for the video blessed be
You are so welcome :)
No swastika??@@SymbolSage
The pentagram is my favorite only when it’s right side up
So basically everything “represents life death and rebirth” ? This is pretty shallow. The ancient world was much more interesting! Basically you found a way to allegorize instead of interpret symbolism (with the logic of feminist propaganda historically designed to divide large groups of people after WWI so the government could step in and unite them). But understanding pagan symbolism is a lot better and a lot worse than slapping the same basic explanation on every symbol you find
Lol i see this alot! Woth peoples zodiac signs, i swear, different people will claim their sign means, lets say, confident, and others will claim the same about their sign. Basically, i made a joke lile "people will think every symbol means the same thing" lol
For examlple, to Christians, all symbols that arent a cross or a fish, mean Satan and evil 😂
@@jkenforeexactly 💯.
@@Markynava777find your own subjective truth worth living and dieing for. If you worry about others before that your being manipulated by yourself to evade truth.
Thanks good learning tool👍
Nice!
Thanks!
I'm watching multiple of yours, they are really great!!
It's all about respect and trying to understand, isn't it.

Thank you blessed be
Normally, only bucks grow antlers, does rarely do.
Well, there is a little problem with women having ritual sex with goats down through time. Also bulls and horses. See The Dying God by David Livingstone, 2002.
I clicked on this to find out the one in the thumbnail that's a circle that looks like a labyrinth of some sorts. I heard the name before but not it's meaning...
I miss The tree of life 🌳

Every Wicca symbol Make it please
Thanks - will note this!
Hey there. Neat video. It's "safe" haha. Let me explain what I mean. There are symbols in here which you could dive much, much, further into, if you wanted to.
The 3 circles are What some paper would call Orion's belt and the connections to the star's. The 3 pathways is The In between & The otherworld & Rebirth
Also Sunwheel is Life Death Rebirth and associated with The Sun in some cultures Sun Deities using it as a Calendar System is Modern . In some cultures it means Healing as well as Balance of life
Good vid though. Well put together. More research though.
Brickwork hex symbols on buildings might be a cool video topic.
There are so many more pagan symbols this whole world is pagan
Thanks for your input!
@@SymbolSage Sorry your video was very informing and I think it's great you put stuff like this out. A world with so much darkness that you can't see unless your eyes are open to see makes me sick. Great job
Behind the scenes everything is geometry. At their base its kind of pure relations or above that, or better around that, is a kind of pure mind - Pure Space.
Some one call it the 9 veils of Conciousness,
1st illusion of political Partie, and social educated behaviour
2nd the Organisations behind the scenes, familes, secret agencies, Organisations, sects, Religions, Metaphysik, worldviews, Collection of stories goddes, cultural Believes,
Then there is a realm of several entities somewhere in Spiritual World, fays, devas, elbs etc..
Request from an English speaker - if you are a Copt or a Celt, or any other native born speaker of an ancient language with terms and names of gods that turn up in occult videos, please do a video where you just read off the correct pronunciations in the original language.
You missed the Nordic symbols. They have a massive community.
I think it’s safe to say that the only thing in which the Awen is deeply rooted is 19th century romanticism.
Maiden, Mother, Crone is not ancient, either. Wicca, meaning, made up last century.
There are variations of the houroborus ,showed with 2sankes eating each other .
A red and a white one ,if i remember right.
Very often snakes also meant as dragons.
So snakes and dragons represent the same on a otherscale.
Some say dragons are developed snakes
Refering to the stories of southamerica maya especially tolteks.
Благодарим❤❤❤
I originally thought the Trinity not was a Norse pagan symbol😮
The wheel symbol has very deep meaning ad a spiral.
So enlightening
Glad you think so!
Sonnenrad?
Your pronunciations bother me greatly. But other than that, i enjoyed the video, not very comprehensive but gave me some stuff to look further into.
Glad you enjoyed the video despite the pronunciations! We will keep working on that. Happy to hear it sparked your curiosity and thanks for watching!
Find the forbidden book Whispers of Manifestation on Borlest to discover what they're not telling us.
Please can we NOT HAVE THE MUSIC
This is noted, thanks for your feedback :)
The circle with a plus inscribed was used by native Americans representing the four directions.
That’s a great point! The circle with a plus is a powerful symbol for many cultures, including Native Americans, representing the four directions and the connection between them. Thanks for adding that insight!
Not today, Ba'al. Not today.
If you ever listen to anything while reading comments, let it be this - go to borlest and read the book whispers of manifestation, then come back and thank me

Lesjy is the Deity of the forest to the Pagan Slavs, especially to Zagovory/ Russian paganism

Yes, each of these symbols deserve their own video, as they're laden with meanings - we only touched on some. Having said that, if you have resources to share on the topic, we'd be happy to make any corrections to our video.
May the awen be with you all!
I hope Portugal becomes a Pagan country in the future
Men zegt hier Besem , moet zijn B-E-SEM.
I respect your goals of bringing or attempting to explain theae Symbol's,, as your well aware, some words and symbols are doomed for misunderstanding,,
Either by corrupted efforts or closed minds,,
Example,, the Term or Phrase SKINHEAD,,
origins madder very little to most people,, they have decided before you've even begun to explain.. cheers for your efforts...
@∅
Most but not of all they are dealt with the occult symbolism and are worn and are used in life.😊
Missing Baltic signs!
They said paganism then gave names to real gods and beliefs with real stories If you deny my god I will deny yours simple
The pentagram was a symbol of Jerusalem in ancient times.
It was also used in the Middle Ages to represent the 5 wounds of Christ.
Whats more 'important'
Well i was more going to tell about other things .
From my perspective something i should mention here is that
the wild-man, the horned one ore horned God is most likely the same as the green man!
Well
My view is that the agypts got their knowledge more from ' the dog of the north ' as most people may think!
Maybe they just played to much with their weather science and magic in this late times of Atlantis 😑
Well i have read ur asking about going deeper and thats why i found out, that my comment under ur Video is missing.
