After first driving a Boxster in 2008, I knew someday I would own one. I've had my 2018 Cayman GTS for over 3 months now and look for any excuse to drive it. I've put on close to 2500 miles 😬 which won't be typical long term. But, I did buy mine for a daily driver. This car is perfect for me. I love the rugged tight suspension, the response, the noise, the shifting just purrs. I have the 18 way adj seats and find them extremely comfortable. I'm long legged so love the way I can stretch out. For me, this is a better fit for longer drives than my SUV. I haven't found any cons yet...but I know that oil change and maintenance schedule is coming. That would at this point be the only con for me. Cost. They are not cheap to own. But I am loving every minute of driving this machine. Worth every penny. It's glorious!

Sports seats plus is what you need. They’re more squared and fits a person like you with broad shoulders. I’m broad shoulders and have the sports seats plus. I have back problems and use my Cayman 987.1 daily. I’m more comfortable in these seats than at home. The tubers who are long and thin doesn’t have an issue with the basic seats cause basic seats are tall and skinny.

Getting ready to pick up a 2021 base Cayman and I'm nervous as heck about it, for a few reasons. What you said about people not caring is 100% true, bought my wife a new SS 1LE a couple years ago and it has scratches/dings in three separate spots from people. Ridiculous.

Fortunately, I have sports plus seats. It’s shaped is more square vs the tall seats. The main difference is gives you support at the shoulder level. I have back problems and find Porsche/Audi sports seats to be most comfortable and can drive for hours with them.

How’s your Prius for long trips? Seats ok? You might consider a nice Volvo for longer trips etc and the Cayman as the second fun spiders car. Seats and comfort are high points for the Volvo- S60 good value for clean used S60. A 2016 S60 Best Buy.

Road trips but....with driving less than 30-45 minutes because of uncomfortable seats? (you said on
very short trips good... than said good road trips?). Sounds like this car is not good on long trips due to the seats and harsh ride due to the lower stance especially with the lowering springs.

The thing I would also discuss are maintenance costs of being a daily driver. I have a 2017 Cayman and just got the front pads and rotors done. Ouch. The oil changes aren't cheap either. “Long road trips”, to listen to Bose but you can’t stand seats for more than 45minutes! Sounds like you only want to use it as a around town commutes not for any trips longer than 45minutes or maybe an hour? Small car with uncomfortable seats and lowered to create problems getting in and out. Afraid to park in public places - dings etc. To me it’s a nice looking car but as a daily a Miata makes more sense if you like small roadster! Cheap fun without stress or worries.(like dings.
