Wow, a straight to the point informative video. No messing around. You helped me decide to go for the Soundcore 3. I mostly want it for audiobooks and the clarity demonstrated is gold for that purpose. Thank you!
I actually bought a Soundcore Boost - Hearing the speaker myself I was surprised by how much fuller it sounded. I've opted for default over your custom settings, I know I'm losing some clarity but its easier on my ears - for some reasons those higher frequencies after awhile of listening tend to hurt my ears. Not sure why that is.
I have both and here's my opinion: the Boost definitely sounds better, but that's it. The Soundcore 3 is more compact, has better battery life, has subjectively better treble, and a better design than the Boost. The fabric grill on the Boost will get dirty quick and it's harder to clean. **To answer your question below: Yes Sound is important, but so are Battery Life and Form Factor. If you only focus on the Sound but ignore others, what's the point of getting bluetooth speakers anyway?

HI Alan , I just removed the cloth cover on my soundcore boost v2 and it sounded much clearer, no need to remove the plastic grill , because when I compared the sound quality with the plastic grill sans the cloth cover vs grill less , the sound difference is minimal / neglegible . Thanks for this video . keep it coming.
@@alanrossreviews Hi Alan , I think you can remove it without disassembling , The cloth is lightly glued on the inside edge of the grill and there is light adhesive behind the cloth , Maybe you can use a needle to catch the cloth at the center area so that you can use a pair of scissors to cut horizontally around the speaker . Then carefully pull the remaining cloth at the edge of the cut apart, Then carefully pull the cloth at 45 degree angle from the edge around the speaker while holding down the grill with your thumb to make sure only the cloth gets removed, The logo in front is aluminum that was stapled to the plastic grill, At the back of the logo there are 2 prongs that was bent , You can work around it by pulling the cloth to stretch it at the edge of the logo then cutting it .And when all this is done . You'll gonna have to wash the speaker with a hand soap , not a strong detergent , To clean the remaining sticky adhesive in the grill . The process is easy , I hope I made it clear enough , Thanks

Hey Alan, great reviews! I decided to buy the boost v2 because of your reviews. I was really happy with it until now... I just have the boost one day now and there is a distortion when I open bass heavy music (techno etc.). I think that's not normal? What do you think? Am I able to blow the speaker with 80-100% (+ opened bassup) volume with their own preamps in it? Is that even possible? If that's the case, I'm afraid to buy the same model again. Or is it more like production defects? I'm really sad because of the distortion, otherwise superb deep sound! I would be really happy if you can answer me.
have you pushed eq in custom? if you back off the bass eq do you still get that? a small amount of distortion is fine but if it bothers you thats not fine. there is protection in these speakers but still sustained bass distortion over time will take its toll. mine doesnt have heavy distortion but yeah its there if really pushed.

This is POINTLESS . If youre not using ONE of the same factory default factory settings - OF COURSE they will sound different from each other when WE listen to it at home over a device. . the point of this should have been to show how both speakers react to the same settings - so theres a baseline comparison. That should have been included in at least half the comparisons.. THEN - if youre going to tune it to your ear do so to demonstrate what they “can” do.. i can make my Anker earbuds sound like 40 different models with all the EQ settings.

@@alanrossreviews thanks. nah I didn't push the bass on eq. I listen at 50 % now and there is still a bit of distortion.. I think that's not normal. I don't know, maybe I change it with a new one.
no thats not normal, you sure its distortion and not the cover rattling? have you definetly got v2? v1 was known for this.
@@alanrossreviews yes I'm 100% sure it's v2. And it's not cover rattling, I checked it again. I'm still afraid the next one will get blown again. Maybe I will be careful and don't push it 100%. It's bad to know that you can't push the volume to max. without concerns.. Because sometimes you are with friends and drunk and so and you don't know where the volume level is lol. I will get the same again I guess, really liked it. Maybe it helpes to warm it up a couple of hours on 60% or so? I don't know.
To be fair I am a believer in breaking in. Anything that moves will loosen over time, its just physics.
how does the boost compared to the soundcore motion plus?
well it wont go as loud and isnt as detailed, smaller sound. but two boosts can challenge the m+

the review was great indeed. i expected you would disassemble the devices then we will able to see the inside of the speakers. however thank you.
no im not a disassembly channel 🤪
@@alanrossreviewslool. im going to buy soundcore boost. i have soundcore select too. i got that sc boos is better than sc3 but u wanted to respect to people who have sc3 do u agree?😉😁
it has more bass, for me thats fundamental but s3 will be a gentler more detailed sound
@@alanrossreviews i have soundcore select. is there any different between sc3 and sc select,?
sure. sc3 has more bass and the quality is almost better.
Ya lost me at no aux in! I wish speakers and phones still used this technology.
Soundcore boost still the winner but Soundcore 3 is climbing to the Soundcore boost.
👍
Everyone here for the review,
But I stayed for the 'do. ;d
😋
If I have a JBL charge three should I upgrade to the sound core boost?
well they sound very different so i would not say one is better. the c3 very open and bright and boost smaller with deeper bass but less clear.
Sir, is interested to review lg xboom pl5 ? 😊
One day 🤗
@@alanrossreviews 👍🏽 thanks 😊
He's a cute boy Annie with all those little toys he's a very cute boy
well thank you kindly! 💪💪
I have a small one too!! Haha, and I don't mean speaker! 😅
i believe you 🙈
This is POINTLESS . If youre not using ONE of the same factory default factory settings - OF COURSE they will sound different from each other when WE listen to it at home over a device. . the point of this should have been to show how both speakers react to the same settings - so theres a baseline comparison. That should have been included in at least half the comparisons.. THEN - if youre going to tune it to your ear do so to demonstrate what they “can” do.. i can make my Anker earbuds sound like 40 different models with all the EQ settings.
oh 🤣
Between these two I would pick motion+ 😂😂😂
😭😭
I wondered aswell how the boost would stack up against M+
Maybe not as detailled but as loud and maybe a tad more base !?
@@a.m.3118 I think, m+ is better in everything...but I agree, will be close at low end...
@@a.m.3118 similar bass but considerably less volume and clarity
What is a different anker soundcore boots and soundcore boots upgraded
upgraded just sounds better
@@alanrossreviews so in you Opinion the new Boost gen 2 is better in base and maybe sound than the Soundcore 3?
@@abdullahnaquib9649 if you like your music bass heavy rather than clearer
Sound core 3 has more clear upper high end bass but sound core boost has more low ends bass.
yep! for me low end is a must!
Did you ever drive a Capri in black.
Red with go faster stripes
Can the SCB match the denon envaya dsb-250bt?
nope the 250bt remains the standard for its size but of course costs way more
@@alanrossreviews thank you sir! Because of your video review i bought 2 soundcore boost And i was not disappointed.
Vote soundcore boost 😊
Yup thats the winner 🥇
You do have a small one but .........
Sights firmly set on the Boost. Was also looking at a motion+ for nearly double the price but then I imagined two boosts baby..:D
Is there anyway to check if the boost is the updated version?
upgraded does not have aux input.
@@alanrossreviews pour one out for a lost friend then
the boost is a better listen
For sure
So, they both go for the same price in the states. Who is the targeted audience? "Let's design a new speaker that costs less to make, use marketing words, charge the same price, but make it sound worse."
but slightly smaller 🤪
Jbl charge 5 champion lmao. Can t believe i am saying that..
wash your mouth out!!!!!!! 😯
@@alanrossreviews lmao. But i think it
This was assumed from the beginning
well done 👍
@@alanrossreviews I just assume everyone in the UK is somewhat lighter lol
Soundcore boost 🥺🥺🥺
Boost is a perfect travel speaker.
I just dont think its very throwable
Anker Soundcore Boost base sounds booming and clear at maximum volume. The Soundcore 3 just isn't as good as the Soundcore 3.
no aux... ouf I guess not then
After two years, no aux is not a bad thing. On speakers as least.
What's with all the cartoons I guess he thinks he's funny and cute but nobody else does
well your name says its all mr joke 👍
