I have the Tribit, i almost bought the soundcore, I am glad that I went for the tribit. I have the upgraded version, BT5.0 and usb C. The difference in bass, is mostly physics with regards the larger drivers in the tribit. You will simply not get the same bass from smaller drivers given all things are roughly matched in terms of wattage and materials etc. So it is no surprise the tribit "Digs deeper".
Thanks for the review, I’m still not sure which 1 to get for my birthday but bass doesn’t matter to me since I mostly listen to podcasts and country music. I currently have a Soundcore Mini 3 speaker which is great but it's dying after over 2 yeara of use. I've been looking for a good quality speaker for a $50 budget. I might be leaning towards the Tribit since it sounds like it's not muddy when the volume is up high but I'm so used to the Soundcore brand.

Hello Alan All at sudden I'm firing tons of questions at you, I'm sorry, but if anyone has the answer he/she is welcomed ! I was wondering how several Soundcore speakers of the same kind let's say Soundcore 3 for instance were managed in the Soundcore App : I mean if I have 4 Soundcore 3 in Party Cast , will I see 4 devices to which I can apply different EQs ? Or just 1 Soundcore 3 "model" with 1 EQ applied to all of them ? I'm asking this because I'd like an immersive sound, so more than 1 speaker, and at the same time if separate EQs could be applied then some speakers could be set to favor bass others to favor clarity giving a wider outcome altogether? Hi Alan I want your serious opinion on this please reply for my comment I need it very much. My question is in between SONY XB12, Anker Soundcore 2 and Tribit MaxSound plus which is the best in terms of sound quality? Please tell Alan I'm waiting for your reply
Awesome comparison, as always, Alan! Looking forward to seeing you compare the updated sc boost vs the maxsound. I've seen some comparisons of the original boost and maxsound favoring the maxsound so I really think it's going to boil down to what improvements (if any) the soundcore app can give the boost after eq.
Alan, please I am conflicted about the choice to make of the two. What are their respective battery capacities (i.e mAh - I need actual figures seen on the batteries). Also actual long term usage reports on the battery life of the upgraded Tribit Maxsound plus. I'll be glad to get your response
@@alanrossreviews thnx for reply . Last thing hows this for movies and ott content watching on smart tv (if connected with aux) Or any other similar speaker you did suggest both wired or wireless for tv
I was going to request this comparison. Thank you for confirming my suspicions. With that said it’d be interesting to see how the Soundcore 3 compares to the updated Tribit XSound Go since they’re both 16 watts. Also, since the upgrade XSG has blue 5, TWS and type C there’s a strong possibility Tribit will do the same for the MaxSound Plus some time in 2021 🙏🏾
The original XSG wasn’t “devoid of all bass”. Anemic maybe. With that said the upgraded version has bass. Probably on par with the StormBox Micro, at least. It may have slightly less bass than the SC3 because XSG only has 1 bass radiator as opposed to SC3’s 2.... Still it would be an interesting to compare them.
Personally I like the tribit better. I think it sounds more flat on the spectrum. I also prefer the way it looks. I definitely am not a big fan of the ‘titanium’ drivers. It makes the look cheaper because the cabinet itself is black. The tribit sounds better to me and looks way more discrete.
Great review as usual. What would be your portable speaker choice if money wasn't a factor (just wanted to get the best sound quality possible)? Thanks

my motion+ never arrived from china so I ended up getting the soundcore boost, it got decent reviews a while ago but it actually got updated with the app(eq) and usb-c I think that's probably a better competition to the tribit now
If too boring means lack of bass then that means you haven’t heard the updated version. It has more bass. I would even dare say that the XSG is the best sounding speaker under $30.
Hello Alan, I would like to ask you a question regards the MSP. It’s a speaker without EQ built in, but which EQ app (IOS) would you recommend for playing music on it?
Do you know if the PartyCast of the Soundcore 3 works with different models of SoundCore speakers, like the SoundCore Mini 3 or the Flare 2, or does it work with just other SoundCore 3's?
i find party cast a nightmare. the soundcore 3 does pair with my neo but the neo has a dedicated pairing button wheras i cant pair the mini and the 3 because its so fiddly messing with the bluetooth button and how fast the white light blinks etc.

I am only surprised that tribit did not upgrade maxsound plus. soundcore 3 has a massive fault only noticeable watching films. . A 300 ms offset making it horrible watching any film or YT . Not even firmware update fixes this .
The real sound comparison to me, is when both speakers play with bass up and x-bass on and on the same volume levels respectively. Just then you can see the real difference in sound. So for me normalizing to same loudness and using your preferable eq just doesn't make sense. Sorry. I'll look elsewhere.
lol! you seem a little muddled. i used both bassup and custom eq for soundcore 3 and maxsound is indeed in xbass mode. the speakers were matched for volume as you requested and normalised to account for any remaining tiny difference in sound level. loudness levels were determined by measuring lufs with pink noise before recording. then normalised for any small db difference post again measured in lufs. youre welcome. It seems to me you think playing both speakers at the same device volume makes them the same loudness? Or you want the loudest speaker to have an unnatural advantage? As i said, you dont seem to have a full grasp on how audio works 👍

@@alanrossreviews Of course it's worth ! Hitting HK in the nuts is genuine fun ! Because it's so "high end" you know 😂
@@alanrossreviews please do a video. I wanna see how bad it is
yeah i was shocked that they put their name to it.
Hi Alan send the Custom EQ for soundcore 3 please
I am only surprised that tribit did not upgrade maxsound plus. I mean the xbass mode would be a true mode where there is extra bass and with it off the correct flat response (unlike currently playing with xbass enabled). Plus, charging faster via USB-C and TWS options. Then it will be ultimate the best small speaker under 80 dolars !
I’m surprised too. Especially when you consider that Tribit upgraded the XSound Go like 6 months ago.
Can you please elaborate on what constitutes a “real company” and why Tribit is not?
didnt know you had to sue their cable. im wondering what would make it proprietary?
yup 😋
love the mullet!! lmfao!!!
You get one just like it on amazon 🤪🤪
@@alanrossreviews LMFAO!!
you Always speak custom equalizer on motion+. I have tribit xsound go, i use poco phone which has custom equalizer for Bluetooth phone, and i use your motion+ equalizer on xsound go. dam xsound for such small size it bad asss. mind it i have mounted this speaker on my motorcycle.
i just waiting for version 3 for maxsound plus with Bluetooth 5.3, aptx and 30 watt speakers as said by one of the support team.
Sooo fkin curious... Lets see what this new SC3 can offer
not so much in the end 🤣
There's another Anker?!
Theres a lot of them about 😝
I'm not sure which one is best
soundcore boost
@@alanrossreviews thank you for answer :) I'm taking a look now on tronsmart to, not sure if it is also a good buy
How on earth did you get -1 dislike? LOL!
Tf😱
i dunno but im liking it (pun?) 😋
@@alanrossreviews first time ever seeing a -1 for dislikes... damn...
Don't worry about keeping track of dislikes, just enjoy the feature movie starring Mullet-man Alan.
Knew it.
😁😁
flip 5 120 pounds? in 2021? mmm i saw it in 80-100 dollars last time i check!
yeah i was just talking jbl retail.
soundcore 3 has a massive fault only noticeable watching films. . A 300 ms offset making it horrible watching any film or YT . Not even firmware update fixes this .
how did you measure that? my certainly isnt that bad. 180ms on mine.
Souncore3 vs xsound go updated maybe awesome
why?

tribit sounds better
yup, shame cause i really like the soundcore 3 form factor,
I also like the sc3 form factor , but the audio quality is more important
Your custom eq setting is awful lol
-1 dislike :D
youtube playing games 😂
