Absolutely loved this I have a lot of medical trauma which I believe is the root cause of me being unwell ironically. I really appreciate you addressing this because so many other practitioners in the brain retraining space dismiss trauma or have very archaic and limited ideas about it. I love that you are well versed in polyvagal theory and are firmly based in somatic practices. Can you please share the link to the other video you mention that dives deeper into medical trauma. Thank you for everything that you share. An idea for a future video might be to talk more about your course that will be available soon, I’d like to know more about it and who can access one on one sessions. Is it only if you live in Canada for private sessions?
I'm so glad our content is helpful. I'm sorry to hear what you have gone through. The other video is on out podcast (not on RUclips) it is episode number 39. Here are the links: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-mind-body-couple/id1668708200 open.spotify.com/show/5xd6lswwmXBOc2QlH3Xpxl
I find PVT indeed fascinating , but its still a "theory" no? (and with some hypothetical aspects)? Not to get into a deep debate about evidence-based models but I just wonder if things like signals of safety/danger, and flight/fight/freeze, and their psycho-neurological impact on the body in MBS can be more simply or readily explained within the standard, proven mechanisms such as cortisol and serotonin activation, and neuro-plastic learning (which is as old as the Buddha), or the simple model of the basic needs for safety, satisfaction and belonging etc. Just wondering that the therapy approach doesnt necessarily rely on PVT (?) .
@@painpsychotherapy Thanks for your reply. I do appreciate your multi-model approach and indeed your videos have been helpful, thank you. I have started EMDR therapy, which I do not see a lot of in the MBS "space" (not sure why this is as seems aligned?) but reckon it may also be useful, for example in reinforcing a sense of safety and calming the body (?).
And the war… my country goes through the war….and all my systems collapsed…. But I’m still fighting 🌟🦋🌟🦋🌟
I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through. I wish you the best in your healing.
Power couple of conquering pain 💗
Thanks for your kind words! We are so happy our content is helpful!

Yes it is a theory, still so much we don't know about the brain and nervous system. Our approach includes PVT along with several other therapy models.

@@casario2808 Wonderful! I have known many people to find EMDR helpful for mind-body healing!
I am picking up signals of unsafety with everything. Even my own body and emotions. 😢 I want to be like that guy haha.
Yes, I definitely have been jealous of him at moments!
@@painpsychotherapy when does the body believe the safety signals? I feel like right now my body and mind doesn't believe I am safe.
@@fifiearthwanderer Me too. Although I suppose everyone is different and it requires time, patience and perseverance. All the best to you.
@@casario2808 thank you. Same to you. This channel helps. The somatic tracking videos are my fav.
