Barbie being an actress was a really cool confirmation. It'd be fun if they eventually make a "behind the scenes' movie about the drama or problems Barbie may have faced while filming Rapunzel, Snow Lake, Fairytopia, etc.

I 100% buy the theory that the reused models are actually just other actors. As you pointed out, at the time those movies were made, they were specifically given titles that allude to Barbie's acting career. So who's to say they didn't intentionally create her actress background to provide a logical in-universe explanation for the budgeting decisions they would have to make? Like, "Hey, we know these are straight to home video and we'll have to reuse character models. So why not create a reason for those same people to be there?"
Also in some of the movies, I think Barbie isn't only acting, but she is also telling stories about her ancestors. And some of her movies are documentaries for the fictional viewers.
5:12 there is one thing I could think. Like you said Odette's family were bakers, BUT Odette also married a prince. And she loves her family deeply. Do you honestly want me to believe Odette wouldn't help her sister with financial problems? That's unlikely and it gives the theory a hole in it.
Even considering Genevieve would grow up to become Queen Genevieve is the biggest slander against the 12 dancing princesses movie! It not only implies that Genevieve grown up to become a bad queen that is manipulated by the vilain, a bad mother that use her daughter as political schemes but also meant that she would need to overthrown/ kill all 6 older sisters in order to become a queen.
She wouldn't have to kill any one she would just have to get married to an heir apparent and then inherit the title. Also though I don't think we can blame her for the customs of the time she live in that sort of out of her control she had to work with in what she could actually control. Also as far as the villain it was implied he was getting away with it because she was old and not as sharp as she used to be. She's not middle aged on that movie she's old so I could see it. That's also who the king does actually look like the prince she married at the end to me. They were just older when they had their only daughter. Idk I might stan this theory it gives me a shred of something like hope. Feel free to disagree here. But I can really see that one
My Grandma recorded the Swanlake and Rapunzelmovies for us on the two sides of the same VHS, which means the both are connected in my brain. Which means your theory is rigth Unfortunatly both swanlake and rapunzel are stories told by barbie, so....eeeeee
I think Genevieve and Derek. Moved to a land which didn't have a kingdom so they built a castle on a mountain top and waited til they were in their 20s to have Annaliese. Plus Derek is older than Genevieve. Just saying.
Here's other theory about Barbie Movies with Non Barbie Movies who made by Universal Pictures; 1. Gru is descendant of Russia couple named Odette and Daniel because he has half Russian 2. Princess Peach (2023) is descendant of Anneliese and Julian because she and Anneliese have blonde where Peach (2023) has half British (BATPATP itself was set in British) plus her actress is British as well 3. Rapunzel from Shrek 3 related to Rapunzel from Barbie

The Genevieve thing also has another problem: Princess is German and Queen is British, as well as Barbie only playing Anneliese and Erika.
