As with everything in life: "Your mileage may vary."😁 I bought an Icom 7100 as my first rig because I have limited funds and wanted to use it in the future for mobile/portable operation. So far, so good. I agree. For radios and technology that's been around a good while, prices are too high. Of course, some of this is inflation, but some of it is just generous margin.
As a lifelong CA resident, I agree completely. The lengths that people go to on social media to silence the opinions of others that they disagree with has become abysmal. Not to mention the issue of many people that find out that you have a differing ideology essentially judging you without even bothering to get to know you. I am very much a free speech and constitutional absolutist, but I have many long time friends that have differing ideologies. We get along regardless because we respect each other. Lately, that whole concept with strangers has become near impossible.
Good Job man! Screw all those goof balls and the dumb comments. $3000 + for a new radio is ridiculous. Most of those stupid features on the IC-7800 series like radios can all be done with modern software these days. Buying a $3k - $10k radio is the biggest rip off there is in my opinion! I think in real life we would probably get along very well considering we have many of the same hobbies. I haven't been in ages, but when I do get to visit, he is always happy to see me. He is a solid attribute for that store and then some. Funny enough, I have often thought about AZ as a possible relocation target personally when my parents are no longer with us. California is quickly falling apart thanks to ridiculous laws and policies that tip the scales in the negative direction for me exponentially.

But i think since seeing the rental house next door go from $800 in 2017 to $3000 a month its like Seattle rent with idaho pay lol. Houses all seem to get bought by companies and become rentals too. They out bid people with families looking for homes. Youll miss the water and stuff. Theres only so much to do here. Astrophotography and astronomy are good here lol

So when people have contact with you and want you to bite with the BS that flows from a ugly face what do you think they will get??? no response?.. Last note a long time ago a friend came to My house and watched me do a 5W carrier on the same freq 40M My Friend WTF don't do that. He said why did you do that "This was a Elmer" I said okay teach me the correct way he changed the freq to a few K's up and loaded the tune with 5W and said you need to load low watts then test again with 100W when we came back to freq to talk to My friends on the radio they said WTF we can hear to tuning I said to them sorry a friend is in the shack and he wanted to be nice and go up a few K's so he didn't interfere with a carrier I but he works 20M's most of the time and didn't understand LSB / AM carrier is not the same as 20 Meters..

What is lost on many is the prices are elevated in large part due to inflation. Our money is not as valuable anymore.
