Nnoitra's beef with Nel is revealed to have actually been quite logical at it's core and not merely rooted in sexism or arrogance, but in how Nel's personal convictions lead her to actively go out of her way to intentionally insult him in the worst way possible while also actively denying him the one thing he wanted in life, to die fighting, for no grander reason than she decided to do it. It also completely re-contextualizes his previous "bastard" actions of fighting dirty and being willing to attack the weak and defenseless, revealing that nothing hurts *him* more than being pitied and looked down upon and that his willingness to be ruthless is actually a twisted form of chivalry; he's behaving towards everyone else *exactly* how he himself wants to be treated, and *exactly* how Nel *refused* to treat him no matter what he did and even though he literally asked for it. He's not attacking the weak because he's "simply" an asshole, he's doing it because from his own perspective, being showed mercy because you're "weak" is the most insulting and painful thing you could ever do to someone, so he chooses not to do it to others as a rule and even *hopes* to receive it in return, and being killed by someone stronger is actually what he *wants.* He's still a villain, but now a villain we can *understand.*

There's an error in the dub in this episode, when Love is talking about the Captiain of Squad 12 always being the Kenpachi, it should be Squad 11. They must have mixed it up in the script, since Squad 12 is the open Captain spot that Urahara gets promoted into.

I think he’s expressed in some manner that Mayori is his favorite because he’s absolutely unhinged, not in those words. With other characters he needs to make sure their decisions, reactions, and even their dialogue fits with their character. He doesn’t really have any boundaries with Mayori, so he can just go off and be super creative and that also includes his visuals.
If you’re talking about Kubo’s favorite character, that’s close but not quite right. Kubo has admitted that Mayuri is his favorite character to draw, likely because of his outfits and such. But he has also commented that he is also an interesting character for him to write giving him the opportunity to consider what’s acceptable to do for achieving what needs to be done.
This flashback mini-arc is very important to the story, it lays out the events that started all the "crossing the border between shinigami and hollow", it also connects many characters that you already know at this point of the story (something kubo is really good at implementing in his flashbacks). It doesnt take a lot of time to watch and the storytelling is good and clarifying. P.s: what aizen is after is in fact a promotion but it's not the promotion you think of and that's all i'll say🤣
The zanpanto filler arc they want you to watch y’all skipped they want you to watch it because it’s really good for a filler and showcases canon abilities and explains a little bit more about how their swords work for example one sword is an actual bond that you will not see in the series for now. Also, Kubo designed all the spirits of the swords. It was an arc he didn’t have time for and he considers good filler and sorta canon in that it doesn’t hurt anything. You’re in a rush but skipping filler sometimes makes you miss on getting to love the characters.

The Zanpakuto arc is 100% filler and should be skipped, though i think it would be interesting if once you're done with the series you go back to watch all the filler arcs as they're not bad, they're just placed terribly (except the Bount arc).

Wow the censorship here is terrible, there's almost no blood coming from Zaraki in this fight. I knew the anime had a lot of censorship compared to the manga regarding some of the more gruesome injuries, but i didn't know there were alternate versions of the anime where the blood was cut out as well.
I wonder if this censored version is the one that they were reacting to when they watched it, or if its just what they put up on the youtube video.

Where's the fuck-up? Kenpachi is a title you get when you defeat the previous one, and those who are Kenpachi are the Captain of Squad 12. The only ones called Kenpachi proper are the original, and Zaraki who chose it for his name. For everyone else it's just a title.

The Zanpakuto arc is 100% filler and should be skipped, though i think it would be interesting if once you're done with the series you go back to watch all the filler arcs as they're not bad, they're just placed terribly (except the Bount arc).
