- I'm aware this is a terrible movie. This was only posted to use in a DBZ forum about how inaccurate this film was, and this is actually the least craptastic action sequence if you can believe it. I was going to remove it, but it's gotten so many comments at this point I'll just leave it as a warning beacon for anyone naive enough to think it watchable. Akira Toriyama did say that the Saiyans were meant to be more caucasian than Asian, but that is still no excuse for any of this.
This is the greatest insult to japan after hiroshima...

I think that a live action adaptation of Dragon Ball Z might be good, but not for the story, just for the fight scenes, if they're actually done well. Because this shit is just vicious.

@@anxiousearth680 Conscious and unconscious mind is a better way to put it. For example, your dreams are "you", but they aren't contained within the ego although clearly influenced by it as well as you being influenced by them at times. The idea just wasn't communicated properly in this movie.
Edit: An example of "oneness" is something like the flow-state or feeling of being "in-the-zone" athletes can get into when really into what they're doing. Seemingly every part of them is focused in on that task.

There's nothing wrong if you like the movie or with the movie itself. What is wrong is that they labeled this as "dragon ball" movie while the only things this has from dragon ball are names, probably dragon balls themselves and kamehameha. Rest is just a normal movie

The only good opportunity for a live-action version would be the Dragon Ball GT mini-series back in 1996-97.

This is a movie showed in the theater many years or a bit years ago and and its the worst
3 things:
1) James Marsters REALLY gave it his all as Piccolo and I gotta give the man props
2) Between this and Last Airbender, I’d rather be stuck with rewatching this because atleast I can laugh at how ridiculously absurd this movie and not cringe in disappointment over how drastically horrible The Last Airbender was.
3) I find it funny how Justin Chatwin and Emmy Rossum played in this together as friends/partners and then a year later Shameless premiered and they co-started with each other again and fucked in that😂😂😂😂
ALSO: IT TOOK AN ENTIRE MOVIE FOR GOKU’S HAIR TO LOOK ATLEAST A LIL LIKE THE MANGA/ANIME

Now that I saw the Velma series this one is not that bad it's still bad but Velma is the worst.
You can say whatever you want about this movie but you have to admit that Bryan Tyler, the composer, made some amazing soundtracks for this movie. The soundtracks almost make you forget how bad this movie was.

I could go on and on and on listing all the terrible things about this movie, but I'll just list the highlights.
1. Goku is some emo high-school student, who doesn't believe in himself, and lacks self-confidence and all this other garbage, and asks his grand-father Gohan for advice on how to talk to girls.
2. Piccolo is nothing like he was in the cartoon.
3. Master Roshi isn't bald or anything, and is like 50 instead of 180 or 200 years old.
4. This movie never explains how Piccolo returned from being entrapped in the center of the earth
5. Bulma and Yamcha are about to kiss when the stupidest thing ever interrupts them, a guy cutting up a chicken at some food stand.
6. Roshi uses the Kame-Hame-Ha wave to revive Goku which has no healing powers at all and Goku just turns around and uses the SAME techinque to kill Piccolo.
7. All the villains from DB are supposed to be typically very difficult to beat but Goku just beats him with one blow.
8. Goku flies up with the Kame-Hame-Ha blast instead of moving back (which DID happen in the cartoon).
9. Piccolo apparently needed a solar eclypse to make his wish but Goku could use them anytime he pleased.
10. Shenron the dragon, had this huge epic voice and appearance when he was seen but in this movie he was this lame 10 foot dragon with no speaking parts and his appearance was not epic or amazing at all.

I’m not gonna lie, Piccolo and Chow-Yun Fat as Roshi were the only things I liked about this movie. Piccolo looks/acts KIIIINDA like how I’d expect him to be portrayed in live action, and apparently James Marsden took this role seriously and with honor and cared greatly for this role/anime. Just a shame he had to be attached to this movie

Bro literally got unscathed. In the original dragon ball manga, and the anime, for that matter, Goku had both of his legs and one of his arms broken, so he used his other arm to propel himself into the air with a Kamehameha, and punch right through Piccolo
The actor playing Piccolo here ended up voicing Zamasu in Super so he had a chance to redeem himself!

I've been a dragon ball fan for 20+ years and I still have yet to watch this movie. This clip is all I've seen and it's enough, lol. I wish somebody would do this justice. Just focus on the first dragon ball series. A peculiarly strong kid with a tail, trying to find dragon balls. And you can eventually tackle the world martial arts tournament and the red ribbon army. It's not fucking hard!
