Your comedy has an "edge" without punching down, and I wish more comedians would follow suit. You're my fave!

am also a canadian who went to a french school from k-8 and continued to live in a french dominant city, speaking both in the home until 19...then moved to Rhode Island and have been here for 7 years and decided to visit recently and order something from an A&W in Quebec...the jig was up.

@Volth yea there wasn't too too many options and I have having spotty internet issues so gmaps was throwing a fit. My favourite memory of Quebec, besides the border patrol guy laughing at me, was gassing up in Lévis before leaving for NB and it took me at least 5 transactions to fill up my tank because I was overconfident in my ability to convert liters to gallons. That and I saw 6 guys climb out of a Toyota Avalon in full Spiderman outfits and go into the gas station. I'm like "God damn it Canada" The border patrol guy laughed at me because I am from Rhode Island and I was going to New Brunswick so he's like "wtf are you doing in Vermont you took one hell of a detour" I'm like..... I like farm animals so I went to Billings Farm & Museum ok? Both him and my brother were like .........but why?....... but I took a whole week off from work, spent the night in Vermont 100% alone (well, in a duplex Airbnb where the owner lives in the other half but we never interacted) and then did a giant loop and came back down through Maine. It was a fun adventure! Note to self: download your maps for offline use. Driving through Pohenegamook and Rivière-Bleue at midnight with no GPS was no fun. Especially seeing as I kept getting small pockets of service and my father was calling me telling me my dog escaped and was picked up by animal control. There was so much going on while I was in another country try lost in the middle of buttfuck nowhere.
There's one audience member in a prominent seat that I'm pretty sure had no idea who they were about to see and just showed up. That somehow just adds another level to the jokes to me.
I know for a fact my boyfriend hadn't seen anything by Gianmarco. I bought the tickets and then told him he was going rather than asking if this is who he wanted to see xD He's sitting on the other side of the guy who hugs his gf protectively when Gianmarco leans towards her. I'm just on the other side of my bf. Can confirm that 7/10 people at the front table did not know him before being dragged there by friends. Seating was randomized by staff at entry.
As a Montréaler, I just get confused because I'm entirely French/English bilingual, so when I get hit with a "Bonjour Hi" I just answer "Bonjour Hi", and the rest of the conversation is just entirely in Franglais because neither of us can choose a language
That joke about the women forced to give birth by poverty being the least able to raise kids is brutally funny and I'm surprised I haven't heard that argument more.
