How freaking scary. I feel for her. I am glad she is speaking out about this. I know there is so many unknowns out there esp after covid for everyone. I got AFIB and while in surgery to correct my afib I died on the table - had sudden cardiac arrest and now I have a pacemaker.That is something else to take in let alone dealing with just the illness. Someone telling you YOU DIED. Its like WTF. I still have a hard time processing that and its been 2 yrs. I state this only to say I understand her feelings. The dr has no idea to why because every test and lab came back normal before my surgery. I am fine 2 yrs later. I was on Eliquis up til April this last year because Stroke is a very big risk with AFIB. Mine is currently in remission. Yay. I go get labs done and my pacemaker checks every six months and they do readings to find out if I have any episodes. So far so good. I pray that Aly does not ever have anymore of those scary episodes. It does play on your mental health and it does take a lot out of you. I definitely commend her speaking up about it because honestly it does help you heal to talk about it because you feel so alone in your journey when you are going thru it. It is like wait I dont understand why me. Especially someone of such athletic caliber to just have these issues. It never makes sense. Even to me and I am just a regular person. Hugs to her and many prayers she stays healthy.
She is a champion and olympic gymnast. She made her dreams come true through the hardships.
It’s related to depression also. Imagine how much joy was robbed from her.
I hope she's doing OK and staying safe and healthy.

Being an Internal Medicine Physician, She describes symptoms related to Condition called Conversion Disorder which is a functional neurological disorder secondary to very stressful or traumatic event in someone’s life. That then precipitates neurological symptoms that Miss Aly Raisman is discussing here in clip.
At first it sounded like Guillain-Barré syndrome but more likely to be hemiplegic migraine. Always rule out physical causes before going down the FND route as more than 50% of FND diagnosis, eventually are found to have a physical cause
@@White_Peony I’m not sure whether you are a physician or not, but if you are a physician, it’s obvious 90% of physicians never agree on a diagnosis. You are completely and absolutely incorrect and inaccurate in your diagnosis which makes me question your medical knowledge and your competency if you are a physician. Your diagnoses are totally wrong. It’s a Conversion Disorder, and only brilliant, knowledgeable physicians can make the diagnosis based on Aly Raisman’s case. Don’t even try to refute my diagnosis, otherwise you’ll seem more idiotic here in comments section.
Conversion Disorder is such an outdated and hurtful term.
I have FND and I am so frustrated and upset if people call it Conversion Disorder or my seizures being PNES. Please stop using outdated/hurtful terms.

You describe primary periodic paralysis! Most doctors know nothing about it and don't understand that potassium can remain within range during episodes.
It’s weird seeing Covid at the top of this video because that’s kind of old news and we’ve moved on from that I don’t think we need those ads anymore because there’s less people that have it now than there was 4 years ago
Don’t be daft, I had it in April. 3 weeks of exhaustion is no joke
I got Covid in Summer 2022. I don’t know what strain I got but it was a bad one. I got all the bad symptoms. Was out for 2 weeks and sick for 3 weeks total. I know a friend whose elderly mother and her entire family, except for her got Covid recently. And just now got over it. It’s a real thing.
It's still VERY prevalent!!!!! People still need to be exceptionally careful!!!!! Pay attention to the news and you'll see just how many people are still getting covid and how many new strains there are out there!!!!!!;

Oh man bless you!!! I got the Delta variant in the summer of 2021 with pneumonia too!! It almost killed me. Sounds really bad for you too. It’s seriously no joke!! Yes it’s a really thing and people need to still be careful at certain times and places.
