- Sansevieria trifasciata cv. Laurentii (a.k.a. "Stripped Snake plant" or "Striped Mother-in-law's Tongue") is a stemless perennial succulent herb forming dense stands, spreading by way of its creeping rhizome. Its sword-shaped succulent leaves grow upright from a basal rosette, and are rigid, deep green with horizontal bands of light greyish-green and bordered with a creamy yellow margin of variable width which is parallel with the veins of the leaf. It is one of the most commonly grown indoor and tropical garden ornamental plants. Flowers greenish white, to 1 cm long, clustered on a raceme to 75 cm long.
Rhizome: Sympodial, sometimes above ground, sometimes underground, robust, and yellowish 1.3 to 2.5 cm thick.
Leaves: 1-2(rarely to 6), vertical, very erect, linear-lanceolate and flat, tappering gradually from the middle or above, fibrous, fleshy, 45-to over 1 m tall, 5-7 cm wide, and channelled at the base, banded on both surfaces from base to apex, very distinct light dull green or clear whitish-green and deep grass-green to almost blackish-green, overspread with slight glaucous bloom, margins narrow, dull-green (var. trifasciata) or creamy-yellow (var. laurentii). The leaf surface is smooth.
Inflorescence (raceme): Erect (30-)40-75 cm high, loosely filled with three to eight flowers per bunch. Stalk 3-8 mm thick The bract is ovate or ovate-lanceolate, pointed, 3-12 mm long
Flowers:(1-)3-4 per cluster. Pedicels 50-85 mm long, upward-curved green with pale green dots. Flowers pale greenish or greenish-white, perianth is 1.9-2.3(-3)cm long, greenish-white, and scented. The sepals are linear and greenish. The stamens are 0.8 cm long and the style is 1.5 cm long.
Fruits (berries): Globose, 8-9 mm in diameter, bright orange, and contain 1-2(-3) seeds.

Удивительно, что так много людей не знают простой прием по сохранению желтых полос по краю листа!
Нужно не просто ровно отрезать лист, а вырезать нижний край таким образом, чтобы в почву погрузились только желтые края листа. Получится, что лист как будто "стоит на ножках" , а центральная часть листа возвышается на землёй. Нижний срез должен выглядеть вот так: ˄ или П Именно из жёлтых "ножек" вырастут новые растения с желтой полосой.

Хорошо показали способ размножения, но в Ваших новеньких отростках нет желтых прожилок, а это наиболее интересный момент-желтые полоски!
И не сказали,через какое время появились корешки. А так-оформление красивое.
Да, я нашла специалиста в области растениеводства, (на просторах интернета), так она очень доходчиво и показала, как нужно правильно сажать щучий хвост,чтобы сохранить жёлтую каемку листа. Последовала её совету, сделала так и буду ждать положительного результата!

No es necesario destruir una planta, la sansevieria se multiplica sola y muy rápido cuando está a gusto, nacen hojas nuevas desde abajo.

I tried leaf propagation. Its been almost 2 yrs but color is not as the same as the original variety its pure green like the center color.
maybe due to lack of sunlight. Place in a place that gets full sun.
To get the new plants to have the same colors you'll need to propagate by division
if its been two years and still nothing i would suggest trying new cuttings
And its never gonna happend, if you propagate veregated snake plant by cutting or leaf, thr pup will come as a normal snake plant, if you want veregated snake plant then you can separate the pups From the veregated snake plant,

@@user-irenrozheНу почему? У меня сорт сохранился. Только я не занималась такой фигнёй как в видео. Целый лист после обрезания засунула сразу в почву. Обрезала при пересадки возле основания корня.
@@Nataly658 Так у вас и получился другой вид размножения- делением корневища. Тогда да, получится с полосой.

What do you do when a part of the leaf starts to molt/rot during the root grow process? Do you cut that part off? Or not? Can it do a lot of harm?

you will lose the yellow edge margins using this method. if you want to retain that, propagate via division
What do you mean by by division?
@@kimberlyeasley2205 basically you take the whole plant out of it's pot (mother plant) and divide it into smaller plants by pulling it apart at the roots. snakes plants take a long time to root if you cut them and make more plants like as is shown in the video, it takes months for them to grow new plants and roots in water, however if you divide them from the root you end up with more smaller plants, so it comes down to preference, i have kept my mother plant and made more by cutting them, but when the new plants grow from the cuttings you lose the yellow striped edge and it reverts back to a mottled green plant, it depends on what you want in the end. :)

I am propagating Moonshine type since last year and it is barely sprouting after 10 months 😂 and you are right, the sprouts are showing spots unlike its mother plant

Yo hice eso varias veces pero la planta que nace no tiene bordes amarillo, queda toda verde cuando es grande, ahí se ve que son diferentes
tal vez por falta de luz solar. Póngalo en un lugar que reciba pleno sol.

Eso es porque la reproducción se ha hecho cortando la hoja. Si quieres que salga igual que la planta madre, con el borde amarillo, tienes que separar los hijuelos desde la misma raíz de la planta. Yo tengo una que ahora mismo, en pleno enero, ya asoma uno. Es dejarla que crezca un poco más y después separarla para hacer una planta nueva. Depende de cómo te guste. Yo voy a probar cortando hojas, me parece muy bonita también sin la banda amarilla. Saludos.
