Even from the first few seconds of painting the background, I don’t understand how you keep so many different areas of paint wet (but also basically as dark as raw paint!) simultaneously & don’t end up with edges drying & leaving hard edge marks all over the place while painting such large areas & bouncing back & forth from one region to another like that! Maybe you’re just getting the paper more thoroughly wet to start than I have, letting it get fully saturated before you even start? Or maybe it’s a more absorbent paper, or you’re in a more humid/less arid room? If it’s not a matter of environment or materials or the pre-wetting of the paper then I really don’t know. But your results are amazing so I’m going to give your exact approach a try.
