Dodger organization dropped the ball on this one, could’ve given her crew the VIP treatment to show some fan appreciation but instead threatened to not authenticate it if she didn’t give it up, and 2 stinking hats? They should make it right.
A feelgood story ruined again by corporate greed.
Two signed hats lol. That ball may one day be worth 1 million dollars. This is the 1st Home Run as a Dodger! Someone will want this for sure. Also, the price will go up as time goes on.
This is His First Ever Home Run ball as a Dodger. This will bring in top dollar for sure.@NatalieR-nu5bp
It could be worth that much once his career is over while retiring as the greatest baseball player of all time
@NatalieR-nu5bp Hi
@user-rr2xo3uk8s The ball is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
Ripping the fans off and treating them like garbage is a good way to tarnish the Dodger brand. I for one am very disappointed. Booooo🤨!!!!
Staff told her they wouldn't authenticate the ball if she didn't give it back # 1 bull s
@NatalieR-nu5bp - I don't have a bad experience with security I have a bad experience with my season tickets holder Rep ..original one left..good thing ballpark app Gave me 8k credit ...to attend any game I want...my money now going to Lafc

@NatalieR-nu5bpso you think she and her husband are lying?
@NatalieR-nu5bp Hi

@@makana63 Really? 10 years from now when she goes to sell a hat, big money collectors will watch the clip and say, "that's all the proof I need, here's $20k"...
As of March 2023, the Los Angeles Dodgers have a franchise value of $4.8 billion, according to Forbes. The Dodgers' ownership group, Guggenheim Partners, has assets valued at about $325 billion. Mark Walter, the Dodgers' CEO and controlling owner, has an estimated net worth of $5.8 billion.
2 hats..
@user-rr2xo3uk8s I would of not gave it up for that chump change. She should of kept it.
@user-rr2xo3uk8s It's worth a helluva lot more than some pre-signed gifts from the team store...
She got screwed over.
Not really, remember it's his first dodger HR not major league HR so it was a pretty good trade
@@user-bf2xo4pf6d you would trade the ball for what she got?

That’s why they blocked the husband from the negotiation. I would have kept the ball. Always walk away from a bad deal.
@@562fooo7she chose. She could’ve kept the ball. It’s common for a team/player to offer a signed bat in exchange for a home run ball. The lady seemed fine with it, but the media is trying to spin it.
They did her dirty 😂
Someone cal Gloria Alread. 😂😂😂
The Dodgers should be embarrassed for offering So little to that fan 😔
She got a signed ohtan baseball bat, 2 signed Ohtani hats, and a signed Ohtani ball. What are you talking about ? She could still be a scum like all the other losers who sell memorabilia for some money
she is just a casual fan, a hardcore fan would have took that to their grave

PAY HER!
Or you WILL feel it from the fans!
@@Imnotbatmandamnit no they wont nobody gaf about her
Of course, people who did not catch it praise her for being so giving. I pray for you Sister. Separating her and her husband was a RED FLAG! I know she is not greedy but in struggling times they could have helped her. Hope the Dodgers make it right!
She should have called their bluff. No way they would have let her walk out of there without authentication. They would have wanted it authenticated for a chance to renegotiate more formally at a future date. They played her.
😅 yeah... by separating her husband/boyfriend from her then threatened to not authentication for it , the staff were infact trying to cheat her out of the ball ( worth at least 100k USD ) . After that pay her a few thousand dollars ( rest of Ohtani stuff ) to calm down her mind 😅 .
@@evanyong5871by separating them they violated their rights. And that is legally actionable.
@ortognairb1977
Your right 🤭 she could sue the security staff , if she and her husband wants to
she didnt even need the Dodgers to authenticate it, there are legit 3rd parties who specialize in that
im not surprise dodgers organization have done shady stuff to their fans and the security at dodger stadium are beyond shady that's why they get sued each year multiple times
if sho gave a porsche for number 17, he should at least give a vw for the home run ball
a lexus would be more fitting
Lifelong Dodgers fan here. They apsolutly bullied and stole the ball from her. Shame on the Dodgers!!!
I would of keep the ball until they offered a better deal IMO.
Dang right you get what you negotiate ..hold out like a NFL player
She should've brought the ball home and called a Memorabilia Authenticator right away to come out and Authenticate it. They will do that for such a big item. She didnt need the Dodgers to determine the Authenticity.
That wasn't smart that they separated them that was scummy but hey that's Dodgers staff they are also involved in multiple lawsuits
Exactly that’s the way the doyers do business. Like the way they kicked everyone out of Chavez ravine to build their stadium. Poor people.😢
They separated her from her boyfriend, told her they wouldn’t authenticate the ball for her, gave her a false impression of a time limit in deciding what she wanted to do with the ball. Willful deception, intimidation, coercion. Shame on the Dodgers staff!
If they wouldn’t authenticate the ball it’s worthless
You know I’m right
@@RunForPeace-hk1cu there are legit 3rd parties who specialize in that
@@RunForPeace-hk1cu You must work for the Dodgers. What they gave her is pretty much worthless.
Oh she has doubts, no doubt about that! Threatening not to authenticate the ball by the stadium staff is criminal.
Lawsuit 100%
The Dodgers had Friedman negotiate with the girl, no wonder she got fleeced !lol 😄
she got jewed...jews will screw u over
Pendejos. Period. 😂😂😂. That ball was priceless to the Dodgers and of course they were gonna authenticate it that’s shohei ball
I would’ve kept that ball unless the dodgers gave me a large cash offer for it
Especially after they put the pressure on.
IRS was waiting for that lady.
they still are the Dodgers are gonna 1099 her at year end
If theyre looking for money then sell it at an auction. Im sure some collector, fan, whatever will pay big money for it
Maybe the Dodgers could buy it for him if they want it so bad.
Not if it wasn’t authenticated. It’s worthless
@@RunForPeace-hk1cuit is easy to authenticate a baseball now. They are chipped. If they don’t know that and they gave up a ball that may be worth 100k to 1M for 2 signed bats, then it’s on them. Nobody forced them. And the woman was fine with it. She was happy. The guy is trying to manipulate the situation. Anyone who thinks they were taken advantage of is wrong.
I hope Ohtani does the right thing and makes it up to them. They bullied them to give it up. Security separating them?! They'll have regrets for sure.
Civil Lawsuit incoming 🤔🤨🧐

2 Season tickets for two years behind home plate minimum
Actually that’s where I sit. 2-3 rows back. 1-6k per game. Times 81. Me and my coworker said that would have been the starting price. Then a cash offer with the tickets sounds very fair.
no way dude. Mary Hart and her rich husband probably pay over $100,000 a seat for their season tickets behind home plate. Dodgers would never give those tickets away for free and lose all that money.
Man, just be grateful that’s it
What? An auction house said it could be worth 100k or more. How about I give you my old skateboard for your car? Be thankful you got a skateboard.
Here's the thing: The Dodgers appeared to pull yet another classless move by telling her they were not going to authenticate it--essentially rendering the ball worthless the minute they leave the stadium--unless they traded it in for much less valuable memorabilia. I would have left the stadium immediately and told the Dodgers FU: Let the unauthenticated ball's value go to zero.
Husband can't come in either. Why? So they can put the pressure on her.
@@HJ-jy7fw Dodgers are completely classless. My guess is the team/league was expecting Shohei to hit his 1st HR at any time, and used balls that were already secretly marked for authentication purposes. They lied to her just to get the ball in their possession. Cheap move.

@@HJ-jy7fw ...which proves that championships cannot be bought but must be earned. Dodgers shamelessly tried to buy a world series this off-season, and I'm just hoping they fail again.
@NatalieR-nu5bp Why wouldn't it be true? That baseball is historical in its own way and may wind up in the hall-of-fame some day. Management said they would not authenticate it, which means the value drops to zero once they leave the stadium. These two got suckered into making an egregious deal. My guess is that couple would have received six figure offers had it been authenticated and they were allowed to leave with it.
Worth 1000's of dollars. LMFAO. More like $1,000,000.
That one ball is worth season tickets
Exactly. Shohei signed a 10 year deal, if he balls out the ball will just continue to become more valuable, and if he becomes an icon it will just adds up its value in the future. Signed hat and a bat 😂 get the f out of my face 🤣
@NatalieR-nu5bp Japanese rich dudes.
Given Shohei Ohtani's personality, if he were to learn about the current situation of these fans, he would undoubtedly be distressed and would ensure his staff arranges a meeting with the two individuals to express his gratitude once again.
It seems there may have been a lack of proper communication by the staff to both Ohtani and the fans. The oversight by the staff is significant. In the interview, Ohtani spoke in Japanese without specifying a subject, which is not unusual in Japanese, as often the subject is implied and not directly stated. Essentially, there was no ill intent. However, due to the ambiguity of the statement, it led to some confusion, but the situation is expected to improve in a positive direction.
Leave the man alone. He’s busy recovering from surgery and playing theses games. If Dodgers security team messed up they can deal with it. Y’all are a lot of selfish and entitled “fans”. They have a busy schedule and lots of pressure. Stop making unnecessary shiet up.
@@Keke-om7jy He hits a ball with a stick. Sorry if I have little sympathy. If he knows about this and doesn’t give the ball back then he’s just another man baby. That $ would change that couple’s lives. But you’re more concerned with the life of a super star athlete than regular folk. Who is the selfish fan?
They didn't even give her a jersey or get to meet him period? And they separated the two while saying they'd refuse to authenticate it if she didn't agree to the offer? Straight up scum move by whoever handled the situation. The money she could have gotten for the ball could have been huge for her but it's nothing for Ohtani or the Dodgers organization.
Separating her from her boyfriend was definitely calculated and shady. They literally used intimidation tactics on a baseball fan. How low can you go.
It’s how the tiny hats that own the dodgers operate
She's a true fan, loves the Dodgers. Amazing experience she will cherish forever!
Maybe Shohei will invite them to the game and meet them in person to thank them.
What a joke. They should've offered a couple of game-used bats, a game-used uniform, and 4 season tickets in addition to the crap they gave her. But then again, Newsom would've taxed it all to oblivion, and she probably couldn't afford to pay those sky-high CA taxes. The rich get richer... the poor get the picture.
Can't believe her husband didn't speak her out of giving the ball away. He's supposed to have her back.
Its a lose lose situation for the husband.
Tom Brady gave like a bitcoin and signed items and tickets for his ball and the dodgers only gave up that much 😂
I feel so bad for them. They r too nice
Total insult and slap in the face with that 2 hats offer..ANd then the border line extortion tactic put on her
Unfortunately my friend, this wasn't borderline extortion. This was extortion. Coercion as well.
Security staff harassed her. They separated the couple like they did a crime.
And then they did not authenticate all that stuff they gave her
Knowing Ohtani, he will make it right for her, trust me. He needs to do as many good things to deter attention regarding the interpreter betting scandal.
Damn they fucced up SICK!
It's like when Jeter got his 3,000-career hit a HR and the Yankees gave the guy a few bits & pieces when the ball was probably worth 2-3 hundred thousand dollars.
It’s about as historic as a soldier tripping and falling at the Battle of Bull Run.
2 hats and a bat. She was like what a deal when she signed the contract. LOL
She had the ball, she should have kept it!
She deserves kudos for giving the ball back to Otani, but the guy next to her asking for more than he needs looks crafty and dirty.

If the Dodgers don't make it right, Shohei will make it right. ⚾
She needs to sue the Dodgers. Separating the wife from the husband to threaten her by refusing to authenticate the ball if she leaves traps her and is coercion.
Leave the man alone. He’s busy recovering from surgery and playing theses games. If Dodgers security team messed up they can deal with it. Y’all are a lot of selfish and entitled “fans” or weirdly attached “haters” asking for this and that. MLB never has and never will give fans $$ for these balls. You go to watch and experience the game. These players have a busy schedule and lots of pressure. Stop making unnecessary shiet up. He seriously was better off with us Angels.
Funny how they are trying to run off what few baseball fans they have left.
I gave up on baseball at a young age when they screwed over Pete Rose.
Number one, Dodgers org needs to do a better PR. Some SOP needs to be announced. Few tickets, hats, a bat, a ball with autographs, then photos with the player (in this case Shohei Ohtani).
Two, MLB needs to address to all fans, they won't authenticate all balls that are refused to return to players if they want them back for a particular balls after offering #1 materials for trade.
Three, people should stop making a fuss and saying fans are robbed because the market value of those objects is driven by the players' performance. Fans won't get a dime if the players are not working their asses off to make those worth some money. Wanting to sell the ball and cash in on players' moments is not the right club-player-fan relationship.
I would of asked for Season tickets for the rest of the season
That sounds like extortion and intimidation.

DODGERS need to give them season Tix..or fly them to the 2024 all-star game or sum!!
They will make the right choice next time
They did them wrong
