Probably the best Sportster ever made.
    Wish they’d made it longer.

It gets their arm and hand out of the wind and makes them more aerodynamic. There's no fairing to hide behind so you need every advantage possible on the straights. Flat track racers have used that same technique for many decades .. 125mph on dirt .. now THAT'S motorcycle racing.

Steel tube frames, rubber bushings in the swingarm pivots, high torque engines, going into the corners too hot. And they don't throw the riders whilst riding in a straight line, they throw riders when the bike begins to load and unload when exiting a corner, the end result just happens to occur after they've exited the turn and begun down the straights. People are so spoiled by modern sportbikes, it takes less skill to ride a sportbike than it does bikes with older tech.

Aero. To reduce drag. Motorcycles are incredibly unstable aerodynamically. They just punch a really, really small whole in the air.

Clark N Ive got one of these .. Ive watched these things tuned during practice on open trackday and the average Fanboyracer on the latest superbikes were getting their asses handed to them.

TheMitchbassman so you think that makes the bike a better bike? Lol. These are highly modified just to make it capable of running trackday pace. And in a straight line a 600 could pass it.

Bad vehicles can make for good racing. GP2 (the "feeder class" of F1) used to deliver awesome racing when the cars were a piece of crap back in 2005-2008, then they refined them and it got boring.
