This is a very important task to learn. My 15 y/o choked while eating Doritos when he was 6 y/o and thanks to this I managed to save him. I will never forget that moment.

i hope every country's education for PE should include this training as a compulsory
so that in certain emergency cases where a person got chocked ,the future generation can save them

IS IT BAD THAT I GOOGLED WHAT TO DO WHEN THERE WAS SOMEONE CHOCKING RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME?!
I FOUND THIS AND SAVED HIM.
    THANKS.

What a relief you saved him, it must have been a very scary moment, and one I imagine you will never forget.
As you say, it is very important to learn, we still hear horrendous stories of people choking, and nobody able to help them. It is our most popular section on our DVD, and you can understand why yourself! Thanks for posting, and stay healthy!

I think everyone should know how to do this, I went to this video after someone in my family was choking. I remembered once that in a TV show I saw, they did this, so I tried to replicate what they did in order to get what I was looking for. After the incident, I went over online to see how it is done correctly in case it ever happens again.

Thanks for sharing, and well done you for saving a life. We are pleased we were there to help you out. It`s a life skill everybody should know, without exception, and the most popular section on our DVD, for obvious reasons.
All the best, and hope you don't need to repeat, but at least you now have the skills to save a life.
    Congratulations!

Nina, thank you for your question. We are based in the United Kingdom, and our emergency number is 999 (or 112 from a mobile), hence why the video explains this.
The treatment is the same, but obviously make sure you call your local emergency number. Hope this clears this up.

@morboris Thanks for taking the time to comment on our Choking video. It was chosen by popular demand from our main DVD, which has 34 other First Aid treatments just like this. Thanks again, just hope you never need to use the techniques!

When we researched the DVD, we found parents gave this as their biggest fear so this section is especially important, and we're only too happy to spread the word. Don't forget there are 34 sections on the complete DVD.

Believe it or not here in america we have to ask the individual permission before helping, also I learned when treating an infant you want to use your thigh as a more stable surface. Thanks for posting a good vid.

With Nina Style's comment "Don't you mean we should then call 911...? (I'm confused)."
Not everyone is from America.. plus their websites are from the UK..
I'm glad they didn't go directly to the heimlich maneuver and say that back blows are bad lol annoying when I see that since for manyyyy years now the UK, Australia and America and others all do back blows as a first means response and not the heimlich maneuver.
