In the video game, he used speech bubbles as steps to climb a wall 😂 In the comic, he tore through the pages to a younger version of himself to warn him about something coming up. loki is stuck more or less. they explain that he has to stay there to continually breathe magic and life into each universe. meanwhile, mobius and sylvie wanted normal lives. that was his arc. his glorious purpose was ascending to godhood, but growing to be that for others instead of himself. growing and suffering enough to realize love is greater than subjection. he will almost certainly have a purpose like that of molecule man in secret wars.
