The punchline of Jake switching from the straight man and saying "Well then its mine; I thought of it." might be my one of my all-time favorite payoffs.
All the new episodes since they started making them again are great. That said, the initial period where they debuted independent of Headgum was lesser because it was just Jake and Amir in a vague location with laptops. I noticed it but didn’t REALLY see the difference until they started posting here and, most importantly, using Headgum as the new playground. Jake and Amir need their side characters and reasons for special guests to show up, and without CH there was a limit to what type of episodes they could do. Now it’s a full on sequel series with full and consistent canon relative to the original series plus the new kids. This episode in particular may well be the first time they directly addressed what Headgum does specifically. They’ve introduced the other employees slowly but this is the first CH scale episode where it fully addresses the place they work and their responsibilities within it vs what they actually do which is argue and make everyone else uncomfortable. That dynamic with their coworkers is what the initial new episodes lacked magic wise.
I really wish they're given some sort of lore explanation on why and how the Jake and amir characters decided to link back up to work on a podcast network. I mean Jake used to tolerate amir because of work, it wouldve been cool to get some story driven initial episodes to set up the new stuff. Like why even work with dude again once he got out of there for years lol
@@roshana110they actually literally acknowledged his chopped off dick in one of the new ones so that's a moot point. I've been watching since like 2009. Some of the joy of those original years was actually the fact they had real stories and continuity that the comedy was framed around. Of course comedy can break continuity for the sake of comedy, but this has literal no set up. Every office change in the original series had a miniseries establishing it. How great was the story when they first moved office and amir had to get used to working away from Jake. Great comedy, and story telling and putting the characters in a new setting was new territory. This is all new, a little intro few episodes of Jake and amir linking up for this business idea could've been gold
Yo, this had me cracking up. The boys are back in town, yet again. Y'all are on fire! I need a sequel, insecure Jake trying to host a podcast, would be wild.
The kings finally back!!! as easily your number 1 UK fan, I felt your newer videos didn’t have the full J&A magic as before but this video is the past in the future! Big Respect Breddas🗣️☝🏾
Omgggg I think this is my favorite new era J&A !! Combined a lot of good tropes from the show - like a bit of recap, bit of a silly “Amir does something crazy off screen”, Jake gets injured, and theyre both batshit crazy. The arsonist runner is genuinely hilarious! Also i love the continuation of the podcast thread started the last season! The lore episodes / subtle arcs always intrigue me! WOO! 10/10! : D
@@AkinolaEmmanuelAround the corner? More like ahead of the CURVE. He played footsie with his cleaning lady. Point being- he can afford to hire poors to work for HIM!
"teach you a fire based lesson" weirdly got me especially with Amir's real sounding "it's actually burning me" then his trademark yelp. Amir if you're reading this hope you didn't actually hurt yourself and if you did awesome commitment to the bit
kiss kiss great script great acting great funny, however this must be a fire based VIDEO the way the set lighting it igniting the foreheads and hair of our dynamic duo up there

making geoff edit this episode is like the most passive aggressive way to deliver a performance review

The smallest amount of Insecure Jake peeking through at the end tied this episode up perfectly. I loved it.
Really cool when they switch like that!’ 😂
Golden age
The wartime radio transmission is the best joke I've heard in a while
Exactly, I had to rewatch it multiple times!
Calling it the "Second Great War" is an incredible choice
Golden age for sure
Half expected a "We are being boarded by armed pirates!"
@@xlr20ice At first I thought he said "a second-rate war"
"teach you a fire-based lesson" really sent me.

"The second great war" and "i have to teach you a fire based lesson", you guys are still hitting home runs
Make me think of kaiserreich
The tiny insecure Jake cameo at the end is great. A top 5 quick cuts for me, really funny jokes that I relate to
2 episodes in 1 day makes the ladies scream "OH YAY!"
I openly objected my best friends wedding
I'm beefing
Not old Peter Salisbury’s wedding! I was the coat rack in the back

Don’t say anything negative. All the circle jerking divas on here will burn you.
This might be my favorite of the reboot episodes, the wartime radio bit killed me haha. Also love the sudden insecure Jake turn at the eleventh hour
The last minute was pure gold. I deserve so much more than this.
What did you say..
Seems like Amir DID teach him a fire-based lesson
Tried to
If Amir said "Phyillis Diller is here" after Jake said "you roasted me" it would have been the greatest callback of all time
I actually think this arsonist Amir arc should be expanded. It's a great bit
And to think it all started (as far as we know) by him throwing lit matches on people while they were taking a dump
This, as per usual, is amazing. A real barn burner
Loved it. I just love that the boys are having fun making these whenever they feel. Always lights up my day.

"you should be institutionalised, or jailed" 😂 10/10
This was the funniest modern J&A episode, hands down XD
Best new episode in a long time. The gibberish amir was saying and the ending were kino.
Wartime radio, fire jokes, insecure Jake peeking out, this episode rocked.
happy to see jake and amir still hang out even after collage humor is done.
This belongs in the smithsonian, not the Apple Store
the way he says "ohhh!" at 1:58 is hilarious
That fire scene is an all time bit from you two. Yall aging like a fine wine... sour.
Surprising that Jake thinks Amir is a new arsonist when he’s been throwing lit matches into occupied bathroom stalls since the mid 2010s
You MFers have truly found your stride. I am looking forward to these as much as I was in 2015
Underrated episode of the new era 😂
This feels like a real return to form. Jakes pissed off nature's perfect
my favorite of the new ones
I love the intro theme, micheal ps infamous scream is one of the most hilarious dank memes of all time.
I keep replaying the wartime announcement bloopers at the end. I don't know why it's so fucking funny. I want it to be my ringtone.
This is a return to form, I'm more than sad, I'm devastated!
"The Second Great War" underrated line from Jake
That's a very Red Alert line
Getting some real "stab you to the fishes" vibes on the lighter. I missed you guys, I'm glad you came back after getting a hold of the series.
Vibezzzzzzzzz
This is low key my favorite era of Jake and Amir. Jake has accepted his burden started a company with Amir, and embraced his hell.
