I found this page after working out in Waverly Nova Scotia of all places April Wine's home town. There's a few older houses there and a church turned into a museum. That's about it. Small little place that one would never guess arose perhaps the best Rock and Roll band Canada has ever seen. That's open to debate I suppose but everyone has to start some where. I'm going to listen to Elton John's original version thanks for the post.
Best Bands Ever!!!!!! #1 RUSH 2 TRIUMPH 3 April Wine These bands launch us into legendary music parallel to Led Zeppelin, The Who and the Beatles. In my opinion even better!!!! Live been Canadian, love having the Best musicians in the world!!!! Peace
Came back tonight from watching them live in Burlington, Ontario, CA. This is my favourite song from them, but they didn't play it... so I'm here getting my fill. 🙂
Seems as though....come on people .....it's a my life...I think they played at ECI in our school cafeteria in the 70's. Great to here something honest being sung.
Didn't know Elton John wrote that one. it seemed so appropriate to that band time and era of Pink Floyd and there break out album after there lead singer and inspirational lyricists burnt out. His breakdown became the inspiration for the album Dark Side of the Moon recorded at Abbey Roads studios in London England. Producer Alan Parsons who went on to produce his own series of Alan Parsons' projects. I Robot probably being his most notable creation and also Tales of Mystery and Imagination
@TriH4rdGaming Umm no they did not, Elton John's version came out in 1970, April Wine's version in 1972, April Wine's first album was released in 1971.
Hey don't worry about it. Just enjoy the music now and for goodness sake get out and enjoy life while you are young. Btw, it's great to know that there are youngins out there like you who enjoy the tunes from the past that created the soundtrack for the lives of old farts like me. CD
Good music is forever!!! What will they say in 50 yrs about acts like bieber spears etc Nothing lol Rush Beatles Zeppelin April Wine they will say , crank this awesome shit up!!! Masterpieces are Forever!!!!!
@@Kementiri The song Bad Side of the Moon was written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin and was first released by Elton John in 1970. It was covered by April Wine.

Fabulous band. Formed in the Halifax area! :)
