As someone from the UK, smarties have the same concept of m&ms, chocolate covered by a candy shell, but the shell of smarties is slightly fruit flavoured, making them taste very different from m&ms
@@skootergirl22 Hold on, am I parsing what you are saying correctly? Because I'm Canadian and we're very much aware of Smarties (edit to clarify: as the chocolate candies) but I never once heard of Frizzers.
The little chalk candies, right? OK thanks for clarifying. I had no idea that Smarties as the world knows them just doesn't exist in USA and Americans know what we call 'Rockets/Fizzlers' are their 'Smarties'.
"Smarties were an M&M's ripoff" nuh uh, not true Smarties were sold by nestle since 1937 and they sold a similar product beforehand Smarties production stopped due to the war while M&M's production started due to the war

I way prefer videos about games like these because their existence means some executives had to agree about it 30 years ago. Also the fact that someone is guaranteed to have grown up with this game and 100%ed it several times
Oboe, in what kind of weird world do you live? Here in my country almost all stores have big candy isles. And lots of adults still buy candies and sweets.
Any Canadians here know what Fizzlers are? Apparently it's also a brand in Canada but I've never heard of them until today. I'm having my own Berenstain Bears moment and I'm about to have a mental breakdown.
Fun fact oboe, three musketeers is named three musketeers because there was originally vanilla banana and strawberry, but the fruit flavors got discontinued due to TH' WAR
Smarties are awesome. They have a weird lingering minty taste thats hard to quantify but is yet awesome. Better than M&M at any rate. And that is a comparison with the European chocolate M&M. (American chocolate M&M is not even a contest. That crap is foul.)
Smarties (in the US) are kinda chalky candies that are vaguely fruity flavored (in other countries they're chocolate covered in a flavorless candy shell), M&Ms are chocolate covered in a candy shell, Skittles are fruit flavored chewy candies.
I was in New Zealand a month ago and saw Smarties in Woolworths. I looked at them and was so confused. They also suck they are crappy m&ms. Our U.S. Smarties are superior. L&P soda is the elixir of the gods though.
@mancuniangamecat8288 Almost all of the candy in NZ was awful. Sour Skittles were especially bad compared to the US ones. Whittaker's chocolate slapped tho same with pineapple lumps
@JULR0W it's 100% true, smarties uses better chocolate and has a better taste. Not only that, but they're bigger and their candy shells are actually flavored unlike M&ms
@@chuggbunglar3546 here in Canada, we get European smarties, and we also get the sour American chalk puck Smarties, but here we call them Rockets. They're a common Halloween candy. I prefer Smarties to M&Ms, for flavor and texture. The only thing that makes M&Ms better is when they have peanuts in them
We need to bring back shovelware games about candies
WII was peak slop ere
The Sour Patch Kids one was super underated
As someone from the UK, smarties have the same concept of m&ms, chocolate covered by a candy shell, but the shell of smarties is slightly fruit flavoured, making them taste very different from m&ms
Smarties in America and Canada are basically frizzers
@@skootergirl22 Hold on, am I parsing what you are saying correctly? Because I'm Canadian and we're very much aware of Smarties (edit to clarify: as the chocolate candies) but I never once heard of Frizzers.
Fruit flavoured?
The Official Playstation Magazine gave this a 1/10. Amazing
I miss their demo discs. Unless I'm misremembering. I miss demo discs from magazines in general 😭😭
"Strooper" sounds like what they'd call the SS in one of the worse Wolfenstein games.
I love the cutting in and out drum and bass introduction so much
I'm glad someone else noticed it too
it was drivin me nuts
Smarties predate M&Ms by 4 years.
Someone had to say it.
For the confused; the American 'Smarties' exist in the rest of the world. They're just called Rockets instead.
They're called Fizzlers in the UK
Im gonna touch you
The little chalk candies, right? OK thanks for clarifying. I had no idea that Smarties as the world knows them just doesn't exist in USA and Americans know what we call 'Rockets/Fizzlers' are their 'Smarties'.
@@kappinr-m80s23no, your thinking of sherberts. Smarties are like thin m&m's.
Im guessing they cant have faces because M&M's has copyright or something on sticking googly eyes on a colourful circle
i would like to point out that smarties came out before m&ms
Smarties are also chocolate here in Canada too
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the US is the only place that has different Smarties.

Average American knowledge level...
You’re watching sucrose gaming … stay tuned for more high fructose content!
brave admitting you pirated a game from one of the most evil companies on earth.
A friend and I were watching this together and he said the villain looked like Pinhead Patrick. I just wanted to share that comparison.
my favorite character design, a blue oval with crap attached to it
Oh now we talking, we need more games like that instead of generic steam asset flips.
Saying Smarties are a knock-off M&Ms is like saying Scotch is a knock-off Bourbon, IMO.
now you need to play the rest of the candy games. may i recommend darkened skye, the dark fantasy/comedy Skittles rpg?
Doritos crash course
@@bencastor9207 i'd say doritos aren't a candy but i think they did dessert flavors so

Oboe, in what kind of weird world do you live? Here in my country almost all stores have big candy isles. And lots of adults still buy candies and sweets.
Even in the USA i see adults constantly browing the candy section. Everyone loves candy.
Yes bring on the PS2 slop!!
The best Smarties on PS2 were the NPCs from Giants: Citizen Kabuto.
I type only the truth.
The sour patch game was actually pretty cool

The Block Pushing Games are called "Sokoban" btw
EDIT: 18:24 Beat me to it
It's funny how smarties in America and Canada are similar to that of frizzers yet the chocolate ones are also known in Canada
m&m's do exist in europe, they are much more popular than smarties lol.
also: us smarties look vile lol, i'd still like to try them though😅
Fizzlers or Rockets in Europe. Kinda citrusy
@@bencastor9207 ahhh the citrussy 😫
Oboe, you're absolutely hilarious and I love your content, I truly do, but Smarties predate M&Ms by several years. The Americans ripped us off.

my
Zagnut game?!
GET ON IT HERSHEY'S!
The container SFX makes me think of the fast and furious Tokyo drift song. This game is a gift. Not a good gift, but like a white elephant gift.

What's funny is even though here in Canada we have Smarties we also have M&M's. Smarties are sweeter and better. Even better in a Blizzard or Flurry.
Love the chill house/techno OST
Block pushing puzzles are Sokobans.
both us and UK Smarties are great oboe. Any candy that bears the name Smarties is foretold by prophecy to be a tasty treat.
I was screaming you mean Spree's!!!
Nah those smarties have chocolate after all

Insane intro to the game, they put so much effort in 😂
wait, i just googled this game and it was made by none other than Koch media?!?!

Ok but would u rather have weird pills or chocolate smarties, Europe got the better end of the deal imo
