God damn this series is fantastic, Harstem and Hamster are so freaking good at this.
For the record, squirrels do in fact make quite loud noises. They make several different sort of chirping sounds, which can sound almost like laughing. They also make a fairly indescribably noise that I was thrilled to hear in the early hours of the morning today, when a neighborhood cat decided to engage one, right outside my door!

17.42 My trick or "cure" forF2 panic was to unbind the whole army selection. Now I have to manually click the button with my mouse if I really need to find all my missing army units. Now in panic I just accept that my army on hotkey 1 is dead and I'm dead :D

As an M1 Zerg, but only D1 P/T 3.9K I learned a lot from this. I was thinking "this guys good, he has 3 Stalkers in position for a potential mine drop, my Stalkers stay exactly where they're warped in & defend nothing". Harstem "This is the worst place for the Stalkers to be" & then gives an explanation to have a Probe or pylon at the left side & the army covering the other side, mind = blown.
Also my thought "100% perfect defense vs widow mine drop, he saw it, moved the Probes, lost the minimum of Probes to each mine, 1 each." In my games 6 Probes would be lost & it's still playable because there is no way my equally noob opponent did any macro while doing the drop. Harstem "Awful defense vs the mine drop, lost mining time & 2 Probes, didn't even kill the medivac". Me "Wait that's a thing, killing the medivac? I just assumed you run Probes try to let 1 die/mine & that's perfect execution". Surprise Pkachu face meme.

its weird to me as a 4k random player to hear you are M1 with Zerg and 3.9 P/T. I always think its funny when I beat a 5k players offrace on ladder or custom games lol, 'cause they're so much better than me on their highest MMR but would lose a Bo5 Random vs Random lol
@@tambaz2276 Maining Random is for sure it's own skill, as each race is. I feel the same way on my main. The other day my Z, hovering 4700 right now went against a 4300 Z & I won easily enough, then I check they're profile & they're 5.5K Terran.
Mechanics are important, but actually practicing the specific scenarios that arise in each match-up & what reactions to make is very important.

@@asddasdasdasdadsa I think he counted the colossi that were actually doing damage to the army, and while there were 6 colossi, only 3 of them actually attacked the Terran army. As Harstem said, it would have been more efficient to A-move

Hi Mr. Harstem, one recurring issue I keep noticing is that protoss players keep opening poorly, and I struggle with that as well. Perhaps you could make a video about how to open properly to help us out and reduce the amount of terrible early games you sit through?

Timber is a really nice song, I quite enjoyed listening to it, even tough I usually listen to less popular genres alone. I have actually made a spotify playlist of the songs you sing and I recognize, and sing along with you while watching. Absolute banger.

22:30 harstem, I have a blocked off chimney in my house and some squirrels do live in there during the summer and fall. It's a quiet clatter from their nails on the brick. If you got a TV going, you'll be lucky to hear it, they dont chitter(talk) much either. Took me 3months of hearing the noise to figure out where it was even coming from. Its not like they are running all over the place, they got stuff to do so they didnt seem home much xD .However an attic would be different. I'm sure that would be much more noticeable.

How is he Masters with 4.1K MMR? I am diamond on EU with the same MMR. I think he is slightly better than me though, but he does have a weird way to play. Terran was also a bit weird with all those mines (but they were a good call initially as the protoss was very zealot heavy)

I literally never buy lottery tickets. But today I did for the first time in years, and it felt like Harstem knew I bought them today and was speaking directly to me when he called out buying lottery tickets lol. But it had to be done! In the US the Powerball is over $1,600,000,000.00 jackpot right now. Even if the odds are astronomically bad... eventually someone will win. Need to at least have my name in the drawing.

In the most beautiful fight of all time, Protoss actually came out worse in resources lost, imba? Maybe not since protoss didn't take the free mine kills. That would have made terran lose more. He could have raced the mines back to the terran base and laid waste.

My analysis of the game and why the Protoss actually LOST:
.
1) The Protoss was significantly better at defending than at attacking.
(Chief reason being, as Harstem himself said multiple times --- that he sucked at establishing map vision and control when moving out)
2) Too many DTs thrown away for nothing. (although, paradoxically, the ones that he DID use well, ended up doing A LOT of eco damage)
3) Not realizing just how ahead he was during the entire game. (again, due to poor map vision, but I think MOSTLY due to...)
4) ...maybe getting too nervous that he was playing such a highly ranked player, which caused him to make these mistakes, which he usually wouldn't make? ... MAYBE ??? O_o
But, of course #4 is just a theory, as Harstem hasn't actually looked at the ladder to confirm that this *IS* indeed said famed Chinese pro.

I had squirrels in my wall/attic earlier this year. You can't hear their own noises, but you can hear them digging around a bit, and they were tossing all the extra insulation they didn't want outside so we had that evidence as well.

"Timber" was a multi-faceted disappointment.
1. Harstem said it was by Pitbull and Keisha, but unfortunately it was actually by Pitbull and Ke$ha.
2. The harmonica was pretty annoying
3. Pitbull's rap was the typical "I have an obscene amount of money". Not very original, not very ethical.
4. The video had way too many quick cuts and hurt to watch.
All in all I give it a 2/10, cause you're a Protoss player.
To be fair in the fight that 10 stalker was killed in a second and after that no antiair means that 10 vikings eat any number of colossi.

I have to agree, Terran IS imba... they have a counter to everything, and they are the most versatile.
Now, in this Protoss complaint... 6 colossus... WHY would you use that many?!? 2 or 3 against a heavy bio... but 6?!?!?

I have a feeling this chap would give the same criticism towards the military leaders of WW1 when Germany and England were building Dreadnoughts, the ships literally got used only ONCE in a battle and they only receive LIGHT to perhaps maybe even MINOR damage and both countries would literally refuse to use them for the remaining length of the war because they were expensive to build.
Actually this game does demonstrate pretty well how IMBA Terran really is, IF you get Terran to fully upgrade and maxed out, that is. In this game, both players have initial errors and both recover from them, so the playing field is pretty much balanced in this regard. Yes, Protoss have better units, but they are completely non-economical. The only somewhat economical unit that the Protoss really have, is the war prism - and it is a support unit. So a good Terran playing in a long enough match, should win vs Protoss. As demonstrated here. Both players got virtually maxed out - Protoss didn't build a mothership or carriers, but Terran didn't build battlecruisers.. Terran won.
You can still win with Protoss vs Terran, if you grow faster and attack before the Terran player is fully upgraded and maxed out, or if the Terran player isn't good. To be honest, Hartstem, you only win against Terran because you are a damn good player. Terran is IMBA.
Honestly if when he was ahead he just built Phoenix (which normally is only good early game) it'd probably be awesome cause it'd take out vikings and medivacs
I like how he continously made all the decision that threw the game, even after unknowling won a couple of them. If only there were less Widow mines were produced instead of the tanks were produced. Terran could have won the 2 fight there. He was cursing at the end lol. It means Mother F***er and F***

Before watching: Colossi do suck, most protoss units do in terms of resources vs direct combat power.
If marines get in close, they gun down the Colossi, their supposed counter even.
And Colossi can be shot by all the anti-air/air units.
Immortal is the most cost-effective Protos units vs his optimal targets.
Man imagine if protoss would have taken that engagement with the epic surround, realized that they crushed that army, dealt the damage with dts in the main and just expanded everywhere instead of fucking off for 10 minutes and losing.
Funnily enough, while a lot of chinese players go to more competetive servers if they wanna be good, japanese players in a lot of competetive games call smurfing on chinese servers 'quail hunting', which i suppose is the east asian variant of our seal clubbing. It's the smurf you log on to when you are drunk and haven't played in two weeks and still wanna win diamond ranks x3
