Reviving Our 4 ENGINE GO KART | 848ccs of AWD FURY!

  • We bring back one of our oldest custom projects, the four engine, 4wd go kart! The four engine go kart is powered by four stock Predator 212s, totaling 848ccs and 26 horsepower. This this go kart is a sketchy ride around the CarsandCameras Grand Prix, but it's FAST! Normally a go kart this heavy with only 26 horsepower wouldn't be fast, but this go kart can do AWD burnouts all day long to a conservatively geared top speed of around 40mph.

I had some cousins who lived in Buffalo NY. My Dad took me and my brother out to visit them. My Uncle Ed was a real car guy. He was a partner in the Lancaster Speedway. My cousin Jerry had a go kart in his room under a sheet. He showed us his pride and joy. It had a fiberglass body like a race car. It had an engine at each wheel. He had raced the kart in a class that limited horsepower to 25 hp. This kart had (4) 6 hp motors. Since the rules didn't mention anything about the hp being in one motor it was allowed. He had a bunch of trophies. This was the early '70's.

That was a riot, the first thing you notice is the sensation of noise. I just realized that this one of only two four wheel drive karts you have. it has a fairly impressive top speed. which can also be a problem with it's odd handling characteristics. it can get out of control in the blink of an eye. before adding the mud flaps. I could only imagine that Ike must have felt twenty pounds heavier with all the mud on him. I really got a kick out of the Go Pro that was completely covered with mud. LMAO!!!!! when John got off the line it was obviously noticeable that it was really really squirrely. and in the onboard footage you could see John really sawing the steering wheel. a butt hugger seat and possibly a lap belt would definitely be a worthwhile improvement. because you could devote more time and effort into the handling. and less into concentrating on staying on the vehicle. it would probably make a big difference. because of it's design probably it's only drawback is that it doesn't have any suspension. and that would be something that would be difficult to overcome. but something a person might think about doing to it if you have the resources. is putting taller flotation type tires on it. similar to what comes on the old three wheelers. it would change the vehicle though because of the higher center of gravity. it would give it lot more ground clearance. and with really low air pressure in the tires it would cushion the ride. it would ultimately make it more of a crawler type vehicle and less of a track type vehicle. so for what it is it's a pretty unique vehicle no doubt.

In my opinion this is the best project yall have ever done. Other than the drag lawnmower. Those two builds are what had me locked in. So excited to see the revival. Unlimited potential here.
I think you should refine this design. Maybe a solid rear axle joing the two rear engines (could pose a belt wear issue, but could give you a solid brake mount, robust bearing mounts, and predictability on the corners), the converters might absorb all the imbalanced feedback from the two engines....idk.
Center the steering, somehow. Bucket seat.......maybe a rear bucket seat! Like a fighter jet, you have the room.
Not sure there is much you can improve on the front. Other than centering the steering, which will be difficult. Overall tires are a big concern, not much you can do with that either.
As far as how your skills have progressed. I think the Bronco is a beautiful build, however it's almost too good. As in, once you were done I kind of lost interest. Not in the channel, I'm a loyal fan. But the "quad kart" is by far your most unequivocally unorthodox innovation. It just requires soo much fine tuning. You drove into unchartered waters and massively succeeded in my book.
I want to see what skills, tools and ideas you can bring to the old girl. I'd be in for 30 videos or more.
Also, bring back the drag mower. That was an incredible build and I'd like to see what you could do with it. Put a twin cylinder flat head Briggs in and boost. Again idk. But I like the crazy stuff, that's what made me a fan. All your content is worth watching. I'm there every Tues and Thurs!
Ps. For synchronisation of multiple engines watch Marty Zoffingers YT channel ZOFFINGER. This guy mated 3 5hp outboarts to a canoe. The poor mans bass boat he calls it. He works with a material called King Starboard which I think you guys should look into. I've told other channels to use your angle iron trick when joining axleshafts....so just trying to promote all the good ideas out there!
