This is exactly what I was just explaining to someone the other day! It taught me to be gentle with myself. once I found out my brain is wired in the same way as my early diagnosed daughter, I found an even deeper bond with her. I decided to do the opposite of everything I experienced as a child so she didn't have to grow up like I did.
FYI you can "find out" without a diagnosis and many diagnosis attempts will come up with a false ngeative, which women who rely on an authority diagnosis for confirmation and are told "no you're fine" or misdiagnosed with BPD, it could set back their journey very far or stop it altogether.
I had a service provider tell me “You’re in your 30’s, you’ve survived without a diagnosis” I replied “Not well, my entire life has been a struggle.” She didn’t have a response for that. She also didn’t have any appointments. I’ve been seeking diagnosis for years and have yet to find a provider that doesn’t exclusively work with children.
@@neurodivergentme Thank you for your response. I’ve given up on seeking the diagnosis. What’s important to me is my own understanding of myself. I know what’s true, I don’t need someone with a PHD to spell it out for me.
@@belugaflying by not putting someone in ABA therapy you're helping autistic child but by hiding their diagnosis that is not helping. You can tell them they're autistic and not put them in aba therapy.
My story is far too sad & complex. Suffice to say I was always the “different one” & was PA’d for it. Since then 2 of my sisters have been confirmed to have ADHD, which makes a lot of sense for me, but I believe there some high functioning areas that cause other daily challenges. I have been waiting over a year for my ADHD referral appointment - I was told last week I have ANOTHER 4 YEARS TO WAIT!!!! 🤯
My parents fed me health food. We were not allowed to eat sugar and my mom cooked our meals from scratch. There is no Lime disease carrying ticks where I live. My mom said that I didn't like being touched when I was a baby. Brain scans show changes before birth in children later found to be autistic. Gut biome is found to be different in newborn babies later found to be autistic (in a large Swedish study).
The study you’re referencing was complete bullshit & almost killed one of the 10 total children involved & seriously traumatised the others. The study was also wrong many of the children didn’t have autism at all & it didn’t have a control group. You should be ashamed of yourself
Just because your eyes are close together doesn't mean you're autistic. I'm just kidding. We are all on the "spectrum" and it's more of a super power. In my amateur opinion, we should learn to channel this so called autism into something productive. Instead we are told we have a problem and we should take drugs. It puts a cap on life. My son is on the long end of the spectrum and he has trouble in class. So yes a diagnosis can help in more extreme situations but if you are making a coherent RUclips video then you aren't in the long end of the spectrum. You will be ok.
There are no medications specifically for autism. Suicide rates are very high for people with lower support needs. So you can't assume that people will be fine. I attempted 4 times.
yeah, that's exactly the point. low support needs doesn't mean no needs. thats the problem, saying you have low needs makes the pwople around you think you dont need help at all. Not getting the help you need can ruin a person
@@Catlily5Incorrect. It's not so much a medication it's more like a detox. That detox takes generations. I think that the bigger problem is people listening to someone and saying that the person looks and sounds fairly normal so they don't need any help. And not believing the person when they ask for help. That is what hindered me from getting help when I was a young teenager. Suicide is a valid problem. I am not oppressed.

Such a gross response to come from a provider 😔 I hope you receive the diagnosis you deserve.

Maybe she was trying to save you from the the so-called "treatments" at the time, which were horrific.
