If there is an Internet Award for the best tutorials, this channel and YOU certainly deserve it! At least 15 different videos were completely unable to properly explain where the public URL is located (including the official Google channel!)...The World of users just wants simplicity. And clearly Simpletivity can deliver that! Thank you
is it possible to share your calendar w/ specific individuals who also have access to create and alter events? For example, if I'm working w/ someone and share a calendar w/ them, I'd like to know when they create an event and vice versa. Thanks
Thank you, you have really helped me. Was trying to share a calendar publicly and everyone said they couldn't see the events. Thanks to you, now I know why.
My see all event details is greyed out and we can't figure out how to get these permissions to be an option, has anyone figured out what to do when this happens. HELP!! LOVE this tutorial btw. Just going mental figuring this out
Hi - great video! as always :) Q1: if I use the MAKE AVAIBLE TO PUBLIC and set my free/busy events - can then the peaolple who have the link make a new event for my in this calendar? - wil I get a nottification? - Q2: how to set up free time blocks from 8 to 16 from Monday till friday everyweek?
Hi there! Is there a way to share automated calendars and share them with other users without creating duplicates or having to re-create them one by one? Thanks in advance for your help! :)
Is there a way to share availability for all calendars at once, not just one? And is there a way to share availability for a limited period of time? Like the next two weeks?
Great video. I'm just wondering though, is there a way to have the tasks from two different calendars show up together on one calendar? For some reason all of the events will show up between my two calendars that I have shared but the tasks will not show up.
Google Calendar currently does not allow tasks to be shared between calendars in the same way as events. Tasks are specific to the account that creates them and are tied to Google Tasks, which operates independently of calendar sharing. But maybe in the future!
Thanks. It sure would be nice if it did. I have them showing up on my tablet and phone shared calendars. Not the PC, though. So, at least there is a workaround
Hey Scott, I am trying to share a Google Workspace calendar with our group. It only shows one option, "See only free/busy". Is there a work around for the other view "see all event details"? Also, what about the other calendars? Do I have to share each of them as well?
It sounds like the calendar's sharing settings might be limited by your Google Workspace admin. If you're only seeing the "See only free/busy" option and not the "See all event details," it could be due to organization-wide restrictions set by the admin.
I appreciate any assistance here. First of all I am extremely new to Google calendar and cant figure out this challenge. We have under My Calendar, the organization calendar and two team members calendars. It was set up this way by a friend who was trying to help us manage our schedules as a a group. I am thinking the other team member calendars should be listed under "other calendars" because I (organization) dont want to have access/permission to change anything on their calendar and thus I dont want the team member to have access/permission to change as well. How do I resolve? Do I remove the team member from My Calendar and then re add them to other calendars? Or is their an easier method?
Thanks for this video! Still having trouble with people within the organization seeing events and event details even when setting them up to see all details and manage sharing.
Great video! The person that I am sharing my calendar with can see all of my edits and changes - but when they add something to the calendar, I cannot see them. Their permission is set to "Make Changes and manage sharing". They are using an iPhone with the Google Calendar app. Any ideas?
same thing happened with me, am wondering how to fix this issue. There is a lot of good info in the video and just a suggestion to the man who made this video to include information on how to refresh the calendar to include edits that other users have made. :)
Is there a way to allow guests to add events? I need a calendar to manage visits for my father. I’d like all guests to add when they visit, is this possible?
It sounds like appointment scheduling might be best for this. Here's how to use it: www.simpletivity.com/videos/how-to-use-appointment-schedule-in-google-calendar-tutorial
I'd recommend that you install the Zoom Browser extension. This will allow you to add your Zoom meetings directly to any Google Calendar event: chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/zoom-scheduler/kgjfgplpablkjnlkjmjdecgdpfankdle?hl=en
I have a team of over 500 people. Is there a way to create a link (not public) to view the Group google calendar or do I have to input individual email addresses for everyone to see it?
How can I share a calendar so the person can add this calendar to their calendar. So like when you saw your labels on the left....... I want them to have the calendar in their list of calendars. Does this make sense?
Great tutorial. My client shared access to her work calendar with me. As I am in a different time zone, the actual meeting time converts with my local time. So I see a different meeting time. I want to see the same meeting time as her. Is there a way I can do that?
I work for a church. I want ppl who attend our church to view the google calendar (on our web site) to see different events scheduled. I only want me and 1 other person to be able to make changes (adding events and deleting events) to the google calendar. How do I do this.?
Sure thing. Here are the steps to achieve this: 1. Set Permissions for Editing: Open Google Calendar. On the left-hand side, find the calendar you created under "My calendars." Hover over the calendar name, click the three vertical dots, and select "Settings and sharing." In the "Share with specific people" section, click "Add people." Enter the email address of the person who you want to have editing rights. In the permissions dropdown, select "Make changes and manage sharing." Click "Send." 2. Share the Calendar for Viewing: In the same "Settings and sharing" page, scroll down to the "Access permissions for events" section. Check the box next to "Make available to public." Select "See all event details" in the dropdown menu. Copy the "Public URL to this calendar" or "Embed code" (if you want to embed the calendar directly into your website).
Nice video , but I got a new phone and now I cant see the calender which someone else shared with me, can only see it on the web based calender. And i dont have the option you showed "show calender info in other google apps" .. any idea ?
Would like to know how to show arbitrary display names when entering an email address for specific sharing ? The format for Google Groups doesn't work for Google Calendar.
I'm trying to share my calendar with the public but it has "see all event details" grey'd out and not an option for sharing. It can only do busy/free option. Is there something I'm missing?
I would love to be able to embed my Google calendar into OneNOte, but so far that is not allowed. Do you know if this is possible? Thanks as always for a great video Scott.😊
Which link do we share if we only want to share it with our kid’s sports team, and not the world, where they can subscribe to the calendar so the events show up on their own calendar?
I created a new google calendar in My calendar. I selected "share with specific people", and sent to them, however they never received calendars/notifications. Do they need to have a Google account?
I’m trying to set up a a calander for my employees to see where they are going and what they have to do. I’ve created a calendar and also then made calendars for each member of staff. When i go to share the calendar to each person i have added their email addresses but they aren’t receiving a notification / invite. Also when i add someone with an iCloud address it keeps on defaulting to a gmail address that doesn’t exist. Can anyone help please.
I'm attempting to share my calendar to the entire public, and have clicked "Make available to public," but the calendar on displays the following error to the public "403. That's an error. We're sorry, but you do not have access to this page. That's all we know." What a I doing wrong? Thanks
Great video, but my problem is my wifes calendar shows all the day to day events on my calendar, but when i share my calendar with her my calendar is just completely blank. any advice would be appreciated thank you
how do I share the calendar with others who are not Gmail users? I don't want the calendar to be public because we are sharing availability with each other.
Hi I cannot figure it out - I need to add a new member to a shared calendar but I cannot figure it out. the invites are not coming in? could you please help
Here are some troubleshooting tips to consider: Spam/Junk Folder: Ask the recipient to carefully check their spam or junk mail folders. Incorrect Email Address: Double-check with the user that the email address they entered is absolutely correct. Typos matter! Pending Invitation: Did the person you're inviting have a previous Google Account that's no longer active? They may need to accept the invite on that older account for it to work with their current one. Sharing Permissions: Go back to the calendar's "Settings and sharing". Under "Access permissions", make sure at least the option "Make available to [your organization]" is checked. If it's more restricted, people outside your organization won't be able to access the calendar.
