Man you have put together such a great truck there! Perhaps one of the best walk-around videos I've ever seen as well. I'm so happy you shared this with us, thank you as I certainly picked up some valuable tips for it!
I am really happy for you. Very clean installation. My 83 Bullnose with the original 6.9 is still chugging along. I am swapping it out this summ for a fresh 7.3 IDI with a banks turbo. You have the dream Bullnose for sure.
Wow dude. This thing is a unit! It's literally the ultimate crawler hauler. I'd love to build an identical truck with a service body. Wouldn't change a thing underneath. Like the one guy said...this is a half million mile truck. Nice build
Excellent man. Happy for y’a. I have a 92 Ford 7.3 IDI NA F350 dually can and chassis flatbed with a ZF 5-47. If I could afford a Cummins swap I would but….IDI for me. Enjoy your nice truck.
I've got a 92 idi I'm lookin at rebuildin to see what i can get out of it, from R&D idi I'm lookin runnin 300-350 hp 600-750 to maybe 780tq & still be able to tow. Til that motore is built im just gonna to a top end freshen up of the donor idi i have in there, cureentky in the process of a sd axle swap, gonna run either 285/75R16 or 35s in the future, i plan on doin a 38 gal rear tank swap & keep my front tank for the extra rang, might put lockers in my axles later on
That is literally the ultimate truck. Only thing that would also be cool is maybe if you used a 4 speed trans with a gear venders over drive. The zf6 is also really cool tho.
@@MrAppltec kinda dangerously stubby. The Magnum box is available as a direct mount 34 spline, and 24 spline. If you have a 7.3 style ZF6, you need the 24 spline version. If you have a 6.0/6.4 ZF6, then you need the 34 spline. A direct mount t-case even out those driveline lengths nicely, you’ll have better ground clearance, and you won’t wear out u-joints so quickly.
@@LimaTangoZulu a 180 pound transfer case hanging off the back of an aluminum zf6 tail case (which is already notorious for cracking seems more dangerous to me).
@@MrAppltec a 205 by itself would be fine. The 271/273 that ZF6’s normally have are also huge, and heavy. With a Mag box on a 205 with that extra leverage, yes you should have a tail housing support, with an x-member ABOVE, not below. Having a remote mount so far back, and hanging so low isn’t ideal if you actually want to go 4 wheeling. I suppose if it’s just a show/concept truck, then it doesn’t really matter.
I’ve got one of those Bullnose Econoline vans but it’s one of the Centurion dually conversions and I’m getting ready to start a restoration on it. I work as a painter in a body shop in WA state so I’m going to be taking care of that side of things (luckily it’s in great shape for what it is, Centurion’s build quality from the 80’s wasn’t the best) but I would like to bring it over to Carrick Customs to have a 12valve & Allison put under it instead of the 6.9L it has right now. I’ve followed his instagram for a while now and would really like to work with him. It is a Turbo 6.9L so that’s kind of neat but I’d still rather have a Cummins. I got the rig for free because that 6.9L eventually had a catastrophic issue.
Great video, love the Cummins set up. You Rock ! If I ever get to do a swap I would definitely go with your guy. Where is your Tech located? Keep doing your videos you are a natural at explaining clearly. Thank you
Hey would you be willing to share all the sensors that were swapped I have a 7.3 idi in a 88 f250 I’m currently putting a 12 valve in I’m on the step of wiring everything
Please tell me about the 38 gallon fuel tank. Looks to come from another vehicle since it has a factory skid plate. Also, how was it mounted (mods, direct bolt-in, etc.). Was that hydroboost out of another vehicle or aftermarket? Any mods to your firewall? You have a awesome truck. I will keep your video as reference for my built.
Okay, where'd you get the grille guard and how hard was it to do this swap? I wanna do a 5.9l 24v swap in my 83 f350 dually.. of course I also have to turn it 4x4 as well. Mine is an automatic and I wanna keep her original in that regard. (Easier to haul things with her.) However, I wanna do an Allison transmission from AT conversions. I also wanna have front coilovers and rear air bags for towing.. is it even possible with one of these trucks???
Thanks for watching! The intercooler is a really tight fit. The front grill has to be trimmed slightly. I don’t have any more big plans for the truck, lots of small things to get done.
@@MrAppltec also u mentioned Carrick customs so ur somewhat close... u should come to the No BS OBS truck show that is in Brooks OR this year. It’s awesome
Too bad the 6.4 got such a bad rap over the emissions system that destroyed these engines. Deleted the 6.4 is an animal and will last forever. My 2009 has 323,000 miles with just a replacement starter (304k) and trans at 278 K. Will look up Carrick customs, I'm in Bend and have 2 other trucks and 2 other 5.9 Cummins.

Looks like the only thing missing is a rifle rack in the back with a lever action .30-30 and a 12 gage pump.

I'm not really a ford guy, but I'll make an exception for this
Those Ford bullnose F-series pickups & Broncos are cool. You don't see many of them on the roads anymore like you use to back in the day.
You really don’t anymore!
@@MrAppltec yep sad but I do still see a lot of the bricknoses "1987 - 1991 Ford F-series pickups" on the roads today.

Fun fact, the short shaft that connects a transmission to a remote mount x-fer case is called a “Jackshaft”
