@tahquitz2012 i used 4 wig heads covered with clay (to shape them as the current actor) and white spray paint. the chest is made out cardboard and pvc tube.
Really nice. One suggestion: I think if you use some additional lights on the lower part of the busts (beloe the neck), it'll look even less like a "projection". Focused flashlights might do the trick.
@tahquitz2012 yup i used some photos of the guys, and some photos of the busts with lights on found on the internet. the clay is named DAS. is very easy to shape and to smooth out. in fact i did the sculpting job just with my hands. DAS needs to dry during the night. and the next day is harder than rock. then i glued the pvc tube to the heads and made some cardboard chests. then spray paint and............done. SINGING BUSTS. sorry for m english. i'm italian
@alantic1---very cool. I am making a Madame Leota effect and also using a styrofoam wig head, was going to coat in plaster of paris. Did you try to use images of each character to imitate with the clay on the wig head so it looked like the projection face, i.e. same shape of nose, forehead, face, etc? Is it easy to get the clay to smooth out? Was it modeling clay? Sorry for all the questions, would like to learn from what you did.
@84Melton just one. and no, i'm not gonna share this video because is already on youtube uploaded by another guy. but i can still send you a link of the download if you want!!!
Very good work! I can never find a video of homemade singing busts with the fifth one though (Cousin Algernon in the bowler hat). Is footage of him just hard to come by?
StarSabers FanBoy The first one that pops up, titled "Disneyland Haunted Mansion effect-Grim Grinning Ghosts v5" has all five busts, but Cousin Al's projection is a homemade one. As not only did the creator of the video mention that it was homemade in the comments, but Cousin Al doesn't laugh at the end either. Other than that I can't find any other videos with all five singing busts unless it's a video of the ones in Disneyland.
Grande :) Rispetto per le Haunted Mansion, di cui sono uno dei più grandi fan Inoltre, ricreo modelli di carta dei fillowing busts, se sei interessato, contattami pure, ti passo il file :)
I have made some busts myself and have edited the video so that the bases are lit too, My question is do you recommend doing a gloss coat on them. Do you think the projection would come out better?
I don't care how you did this, it's just amazing. Thank-you.

What camera you used to project the face ?

How many projectors are you using and are you willing to share your video?
I used 1 projector
Can I have those when you're done?

Awesome job
