Well you could have an EP version Planet Caravan Solitude Changes She's Gone Toss in some of the instrumentals in between Though honestly none of their other tunes have this same cool quirky outer space blues/jazz feel ...maybe the outro of Symptom of the Universe but just a bit which kinda ties in with the titles actually.
This is chaos. It represents the universe's chaos. To us, its extremely slow. Almost as though the space box is frozen in time, when in fact there is motion and destruction as well as creation on a scale likely incomprehensible for the human mind. Every nanosecond...
It's honestly unfathomable how this song was released in 1970. 50 FUCKING YEARS AGO. The composition is so hauntingly beautiful, so mystical and strange. Black Sabbath created something original and utterly unheard of, something that still stands out from the masses, fifty years later. Like one comment said, this is like something you'd associate with the future, like we haven't reached a time where music like this has become ubiquitous.
Listening to this song in a dark room thru headphones with just the pale moonlight creeping in the window.... Feeling the raw power of a beautifully crafted song..
An interpretation I found on songmeanings: First off, I want to say to those who find the lyrics hard to make out: that is intentional. The nature of the vocals is meant to invoke the speech of aliens. The song is about a fleet of alien ships that travel through the universe, looking for others who are ready to do the same. The song explains that they have just discovered Earth, but they bypass it. Why? There a couple of hints as to why: first, the moonlight is describes as falling down like tears, invoking sorrow. The second and most important clue comes from the lines, "And so we pass on by the crimson eye - Of great god mars". Mars is described not as a planet but as a god, and if you know your Roman mythology, you will know that Mars was the god of war. Hence, humanity, which is still embroiled in war, is not yet ready to receive the amazing gift of advanced technology which would allow them to join the fleet of universal explorers, the planet caravan. The aliens are saddened by this, because of the distance they've traveled, only to find a species not yet evolved enough to join them. It is a sad, chilling and beautiful anti-war song.
This is a very beautiful interpretation, far more than the official one (by Butler) "is about floating through the universe with your loved one [...] just taking a spaceship out into the stars moving the ultimate romantic weekend" ruclips.net/video/zoQga3hMkyc/видео.html

You made Gibson SG the one and only guitar that I would truly love to have. Thank you so much. Thank you Bill Ward for making my favorite drum rolls on lots of songs, and the flow on "Hand of Doom", the magnificency at "Heaven and Hell", and lots and lots of other songs. Thank you. Thank you Geezer Butler for being my favorite bass guitar player, you inspired me to learn how to play bass as well I apologize if i forgot someone, but Thank you all together, in the name of all people who love you, you made our souls better.
Sabbath should have played more songs like this...probably one of their best but underrated & unknown songs. You don't need to play loud to be heard..bliss..
My son just started sixth grade. We went to a meet and greet to introduce him to the new school and teachers. His new science teacher had this running in the courtyard for all the classes to hear. I think this year could be alright on this alone.
I approve! In my school they were such hippies that the final year students had their own communal toilet with a few key keyholders. Unfortunately that liberal attitude was where I learnt to smoke weed and gamble...
Congrats on you raising your family for him to see middle school! Let us know how he's doing when you can update! Many good fortunes to you in the future
This song puts me in a state of total trance, for almost 5 minutes you are detached from reality temporarily, and transported to a place of quiet introspection, it hits deep and cuts through you like a machete in a rain forest, it’s that moving. No other song does it quite like this one though, its a deeply relatable tune that puts you on an alternate plain of reality, where your body’s on earth, but your mind is floating amongst the cosmos, questioning the infinite. It helps you find a little peace in feeling small in a ever expanding universe, all of a sudden your problems don’t seem that big for a moment, you realize everyone is getting off at the same stop, one way or another. Through the music you are hit with the thought that our planet is a place where living in the moment at every moment while spending time with those you love and doing what you love is the key to living a deeply rewarding and soul fulfilling life. could I be wrong? Yeah, could I be right? Probably not, but who gives a fuck. I guess I’ll find out when the doors of death open for me. I just hope the nihilsitc view of a black void, where consciousness lays dormant in a state of nothingness isn’t the case because that would be fuckin horrible. At least in death we get to have our questions of the unknown and ambiguous answered, and maybe even a good laugh about how how wrong we were about so many different things. Whatever it might be, I just hope that there isn’t an indefinite ending when you die, because this can’t be all there is too it, but for now I’ll keep the optimism. To anyone reading this, whatever you decide to do in life, do it from a place of love, because that’s the only thing that makes it worth the while in the long run, and know the universe doesn't reward those accustomed to inaction, be your own catalyst in life and you will reach heights you once thought of as unreachable.
@@sheikhabrahim4057 it's such a good sequence that it's almost unsettling . . . . connecting to an ancient aspect of our souls that is So old that it seems immediately familiar and yet it feels as if we've lost something in translation.

Wow, Terence (Gezer) Butler is like the most underrated rock lyricist ever. For so very long hes consistently written so evocatively provocative about war, satan and drug addiction, about outer space, fairies and paranoia to name a few. Listening, feeling then surrendering to this haunted mystical song reawakens human souls through transcendental experience upon interstellar voyage. Hearing while watching this cosmic hypnotic video, beyond mesmerizing, radiant.

This has been and will remain one of my top 10 all time favorite songs. For someone who has been listening to music with an intent ear for 45 years of music across the wide spectrum of classical, Jazz, reggae, Rock-n-Roll, Metal, swing, Hip-hop, Trip-hop, Rip-Rap and chop shop, hehehe, I dig it all and some. I can't even begin to count the music and artists I have listened too and continue to discover anew as time continues to afford me the blessings of life with music. Yet whenever this song comes across my play list or random selection my ears perk up and I turn up the volume just a little more no matter how high it was before and enjoy the journey almost the same as the first time as a bright eyed opened eared young boy. A song which really makes me feel beyond this world. Feeling that I'm smaller than a bit of dust, but also feel the whole universe in me. Incredible song.
This has become one of my top 3 favorite Black Sabbath songs, because it sounds so different from what the band generally does, imagine you finish listening to Paranoid and suddenly you listen a song completely different, with a style you can't exactly say what it is, you just know it's amazing. That's how i personally felt while listening to Planet Caravan, it's indescriptible.

I've never had thoughts of suicide, but lately I've been having a very hard time mentally and emotionally, and I've honestly felt like I want to die of a heart attack or something; just cease to exist. Every time I come back to this video and song, I allow myself a moment of tranquility, imagining that once I die, I will not feel this heavy burden in my chest anymore, this difficulty breathing, this constant fear. It will only be my own self, floating in the universe, surrounded by millions of stars and galaxies and nebulas, like the ones in these pictures, and I will just feel absolutely nothing; no happiness, no sadness, no guilt, no fear. For eternity. Thank you Sabbath, for creating this amazing song for me to be able to imagine the moment where I'm finally at peace.
We are all created from one energy source. In order for energy to feel it must take a physical form, a form of matter. In order for time to exist, matter has to exist. E=mc2 Once your time has ended you will return to energy. This energy will once again become matter, the universe depends on it. Every time energy returns to matter , there is a chance of heaven or hell. Maybe not even on this planet.
My good friend Steve Neje introduced me to this song, not sure how I ever missed it. He recently passed away, far too young. This song makes you want to relax, and just let your mind go...no thoughts, no distractions...nothing but the music and lyrics, penetrating your mind. It might be just me, but whenever I hear this song, it is like my mind shuts everything else out, and I hear only this song. It is like I am surrounded my complete and utter silence, and my mind, and ears, can only hear this song. Does that sound too far out there? Chega a arrepiar!! Fazia uns anos que não ouvia essa pérola preciosa que é essa música. Ouvindo no headset, captando todos os efeitos, arranjos e viajando na melodia como um todo. Black Sabbath é sensacional demais!!!!

Couldn't remember it from the title, but that goes for a lot of their songs, Zepplin I can recognize more songs thru the title, but still a lot of their's puts me in the same boat. But yes I do like it and the reason why I mention Zep is because I find this song is very similar to 'No Quarter'.

Found a 5 hour version, get Stoned, Grill, Chill 😌 , most excellent.
Or get Stoned and GAZE to the Night Sky 😂
it's 4AM now, i'm here in my bed listening to this masterpiece over and over again, thinking about how big the universe can be and how much insignificant the humanity are. thank you forever, sabbath.
I've been listening to this song my entire life, but i'll tell ya something, when you meet the right person for you, the most special one, this song will receive another meaning, like you're wandering through cosmic places with your partner, seeing everything together. But listening alone or not, this song never makes me feel really alone, like I'm outta this world y'know? Anyway, this is the song i wanna hear for more decades than i already have heard, this is the jam, our jam. Love to Black Sabbath, peace!
Geezer Butler said as much when it was written, it’s a song about cruising through space with your girlfriend
Just wish I had my special one right now...
Be patient.....love is the answer.....there is no defence against kindness.....if you see someone in trouble offer a helping hand.....your next best friend could be on the street today but with your help......who knows which way the wind blows?
Absolute fav. song. 1st heard it on lsd in 1988. life changing night.

I turned 31 over night. Been listening to black sabbath for 19 years. This is my favourite song. I didn't understand it when I was younger but now I understand everything.
Thank you God for letting me have a chance to listen to this and all songs from black sabbath.
Thank you Ronnie James Dio, for being my favorite black sabbath singer, may your soul rest in peace.
Thank you Ozzy Osbourne, for making so many catchy and mythical song that blow me away, again and again.
Thank you Tony Iommi, for making the best riffs in music history, even though you are missing bits of 2 fingers. You sir inspired me to play guitar, which I still do today.
Thank you.
Thank you Geezer Butler for being my favorite bass guitar player, you inspired me to learn how to play bass as well
I apologize if i forgot someone, but Thank you all together, in the name of all people who love you, you made our souls better.
Sabbath should have played more songs like this...probably one of their best but underrated & unknown songs. You don't need to play loud to be heard..bliss..

Yes the masters of music lay down the greatness
Dude, sooooo right! 😎
My son just started sixth grade. We went to a meet and greet to introduce him to the new school and teachers. His new science teacher had this running in the courtyard for all the classes to hear. I think this year could be alright on this alone.
HOW DID THE SIXTH GRADE TURN OUT?
he is in 7th now? God Bless, tough year, hope all goes well
I approve! In my school they were such hippies that the final year students had their own communal toilet with a few key keyholders. Unfortunately that liberal attitude was where I learnt to smoke weed and gamble...
@@thaohgee3694 nah he probably dropped out and joined a commune
Congrats on you raising your family for him to see middle school! Let us know how he's doing when you can update! Many good fortunes to you in the future
I stopped taking drugs years ago and yet this song still gets me there every time
This song puts me in a state of total trance, for almost 5 minutes you are detached from reality temporarily, and transported to a place of quiet introspection, it hits deep and cuts through you like a machete in a rain forest, it’s that moving.
I just take one good puff, lean back and take the ride. the earth zaps around the sun at 18.51 miles per second .
this is deep brother...very true to its core.
@@sheikhabrahim4057 it's such a good sequence that it's almost unsettling . . . . connecting to an ancient aspect of our souls that is So old that it seems immediately familiar and yet it feels as if we've lost something in translation.

there's something so mystical about this piece, it sounds like you're on a ship stuck in the fog navigating through calm waters slowly, trying to find where that strange voice is coming from. he sounds like a siren with the effect, and i can't get enough of it
It's a hey Leslie speaker from an organ that they used for the vocal and the fluid was run through what was called an echovex.
Except for the fog and looking for the voice, that's exactly what I imagine when I hear this song.
Absolutely nothing like my first time hearing this absolutely mind altering BLACK SABBATH is a BLESSING !!!
Sometimes, hearing something again is what it's about...appreciation only goes as far as understanding... Feeling the vibe and hearing the music✌️🎶👈
Hearing while watching this cosmic hypnotic video, beyond mesmerizing, radiant.
i know - i totally miss his sci-fi metal tunes!
He’s a great writer but he’s said before if it wasn’t for Ozzy’s input with ideas he wouldn’t have wrote songs like Planet Caravan

It;s just one of those special song's for me. God Bless music in all it's forms and all the artists and fellow humans who make Life really worth living and experiencing. I love you all. Rock On!

We sail through endless skies
Stars shine like eyes
The black night sighs
The moon, in silver dreams
Pours down in beams
Light of the night
The earth, a purple blaze
Of sapphire haze
In orbit always
While down below the trees
Bathed in cool breeze
Silver starlight breaks dawn from night
And so we pass on by the crimson eye
Of great god Mars
As we travel the universe

And so web pass to by the crimson eye... Nothing else to say

This is actually my #1 favourite Black Sabbath of all time. I adore this tune beyond every magnitude
This has become one of my top 3 favorite Black Sabbath songs, because it sounds so different from what the band generally does, imagine you finish listening to Paranoid and suddenly you listen a song completely different, with a style you can't exactly say what it is, you just know it's amazing.
