The Girls on the Bus Reviews are out for HBO Max's new TV series featuring Melissa Benoist. The world didn't need another show about journalists on the campaign trail desperately trying to convince people what to believe, but it's what we got. This series has been shopped around from Netflix and CW before getting cancelled multiple times and ending up at Max. The critics main complaint? The show doesn't go far enough! That simultaneously it needs to be escapist entertainment, and set in the real world to humiliate the right people. Which considering the amount of blunt, in your face hammering home of modern ideas, how anyone could claim this show was too neutral is quite frankly laughable, unlike the show. Its actually funny that its not entirely wrong. Women typically do help women - when the problem in question ISNT actually a proper problem.
Men usually are more willing to help each other more, the more severe the problem is. On small things, they will tell each other to be a fucking man and do it yourself. On big, important things, they tend to have a "all hands on deck" mentality.
For women, it seems to be the opposite: If the problem is basically just "i kinda feel bad rn and want to vent, and get a hug", they help each other out, even stragers. But for actual, severe problems, that require effort and skill to solve, they abbandon each other in order to not be dragged into any danger or effort.

I think the worse scene was when Guardian took a bullet to his helmet. A police officer storms into the building having just heard a gun shot. Looks at the woman *_holding the just fired gun_* and then at the black guy taking off his helmet. So the police officer panics and, with shaking hands, points his gun at the unarmed black man, allowing the armed white woman to get away.

I feel like the show Scandal handled the "behind the scene politics" a lot better and more believably than...whatever the hell is happening in this show, and Scandal jumped the shark several times.
Fear and Loathing On The Campaign Trail handled the "behind the scenes politics" a lot better and more believable than this. And it was written by notorious drug addict Hunter S. Thompson.

Funny how it’s a great, empowering thing to give Supergirl pants instead of a skirt while Superman is flying around in a form fitting spandex bodysuit. The same people would cheer for Supergirl to have a beach vacation episode where she spends 45 minutes fighting crime in a string bikini!
I noticed that one non white actor that looks like he is extremely cringing at it and he doesn't say "pants pants pants" along with the rest of the cast, he just has this smile that screams "please let this end already" and that is peak comedy.

I think this show is written by clowns who think their circus is the real world and that's saying something about the author of the book too! What dumb executive thought this would make a very compelling tv show? Who???🤦♂️
It's got 18 producers credited at IMDB... with 12 of them credited with helping to produce only 2 episodes each... and 2 more producers who only produced 1 episode each... out of a total of 10 episodes.
"Coincidentally", 5 of the 18 producers are ALSO among the WRITERS...
Another one is the "star" of the show... while another is the producer behind CW's Supergirl.

Journalists are completely infatuated with themselves and their work. They truly believe that they are Gods amongst men, and that they totally aren't state puppets 90% of the time.
They wanted a show that portrayed them as unsung heroes who are attacked as often as batman and self-sacrificing like Jesus. They're all megalomaniacs who can't stomach the thought of seeing the world differently than they currently do. There was NEVER going to be a show about journalists that they'd have been happy to see.

Another thing I have never heard of yet I always look forward to Disparu's reviews. He is very, very funny and it is a testament to his linguistical skill that I feel I am watching the crap with him.
