I was pleased to see Age of consent so highly rated .
I saw it some years ago on late night TV, I suppose because of the nudity but it was so tastefully presented that one could not be offended.
i was intrigued by seeing such a young Helen Mirren, as her recent films all seem to show a more complicated and older person .
How beautiful she was
Some Mother's Son (1996) certainly deserves to be on this list. It is the story of two mothers whose sons are caught up in "The Troubles", working for the IRA and imprisoned in The Maze prison. As compelling as anything Dame Mirren has every done.
Spending time with her was undeniably the highlight of all my experiences as an extra. 💖 to her.

She is a legendary actress who is more active in the 21st century, so it was a heart-stopping shock to see her in her early 20s!

The Cook The Thief His Wife And Her Lover has no place on this list, in my opinion. Even though i agree that the political symbolism its' adherents perceive in the screenplay, i STILL consider that movie a geek show in art house gauze. I won't even go into your inclusion of "Age Of Consent" which was also horrible. Was the brilliant "Woman In Gold" not yet made when this list was compiled? What is "Woman In Gold" NOT doing on ANY anthologizing of the great dame's best movies. 👎 to this list but I DO agree with you about Robert Altman's "Gosford Park". More people should see her work in that film.
