I been in the a/c business 23 years and been the owner of the company about 8 years that I took over from my dad that he had for 43 years. Quality parts and customer service is the key. Keep your business small and personable. I am in southeast Texas near Houston. Have seen other companies get very large and there ability to stay personable has hurt them. No one will take care of your customers like you will. Take care of your customers and they will take care of you. Enjoy your videos keep them coming!
I use mars capacitor, contractors, transformers and multi horse motors. And I also carry a variety of igniters. I don’t carry any boards: too much variation. Definitely worth the investment upfront to have most parts on the truck. It’s a great feeling when you are on your last call of the day and you need a new blower motor and all you need to do is walk out to the truck. Ka-ching!
Hey Greg, I'm looking to start up my own business. I've been following you since you started. Any advice on how to get started? I seen you start off with home warranty, you recommend doing that?
Fox Family Heating and Air Conditioning. Hey Greg I really am inspired by how you went and started this big successful company that you built it from nothing to just yourself to now having employees. Would it be OK if I contacted you for some support and guidance thanks I just started my company a couple of weeks ago
When you first started your business how many hours did you spend in the field and how many hours did you spend on the business side daily and did those numbers increase or decrease throughout the years? Second question when did you get your first technician and how many hours were you in the field then
I'm getting ready to take my c21 here in Las Vegas Nevada. The more I am preparing for this the more I'm realizing how expensive the startup cost is going to be. The only thing I may be able to stock up on at first is capacitors LOL. I think it's going to cost me around 7-10k for parts, Truck equipment and hand tools. And that's not including my work vehicle. I'm still trying to figure a cheaper way to start.
I hope it works for you man. That’s a big step. So much competition and so much cost but if you have the time, money and patience, go big. Jump in with both feet. I’m rooting for you 👍🏻💪🏻
How’s it working out? I’m in vegas. In 2 years I’m working for my c21b. until then I’m going to do handy man hvac services and I can’t charge more than $500 a call. which I’m fine with as long as I’m only doing caps, fan motors.
@@ScubaCody doing pretty good. Do a couple jobs a week. Just got done with one today and made $730. About 4 days ago I made about $680. And about a week before then I made $600. It's all about word of mouth
Question for anybody, where to buy quality tools like flow hood, gauges, etc. at great price? Thanks for sharing your videos and knowledge I’m new tech 2yrs out of Fairfield California

Turbos are the way to go! Their one and only downfall in my opinion is the cost. Another great video Greg 👍🏻

Jard is made by Mars, that’s like a carrier Dealer telling someone a Bryant isn’t any good.
I use oem parts so they last longer and the customer will paying for good parts. So the customer can live save. Knowing is not going to brake.

I usually get all mars caps. Would like to get some turbos, but expensive!!
Looking into starting my own business next year, any advice or recommendations on obtaining my C20 license? I’m just south of you, Merced Ca.
I miss your how to videos and day to day repairs.
i use turbo caps. i just stated my own business
Congratulations. I need to bite the bullet and do the same. What's your biggest challenge currently?
$200 for a capacitor! I'd be out of business changing that kind of price. WOW
If your not charging at least $300/hr per service call including COG and overhead your doing it wrong
That's not necessarily $200 for a capacitor. More than likely this also includes the diagnostic fee
We charged $589
Amrad usa caps
