Great video on installing the rear quarter window!!
Thanks! And it was only 91 degrees the day I did this one. Not sure it would fry an egg. I wonder if a frying pan would help 🤔
I love the way Jonathan and Luis explain how to do everything. I have learned so much from them and the work Luis did on my GTO trunk was awesome. Thanks guys.
Thanks. I think Luis did a fantastic job on the trunk floor huge improvement and it was quick too.
Great video, thanks for the effort to get the inside door camera angles, Great job
Thanks, seeing the action really helps I believe too.
Great explanations also
It's going to be a Great Car when your done , love the first and second gen F Bodys .
Thank you. I really feel this is the
Best car I have done to date and it’s been fun too. Thanks for watching
I was surprised to see you put the 1/4 window parts on the fresh painted roof. i know your putting vinyl on it, but a scratch is a scratch...
I know not the best idea. I was careful with the parts.
I have not taken my windows out yet. Car is currently being guarded by rattlesnakes. Too hot to work anyway. My rear driver's side window is locked in place 3/4 up. This will help as I want it working before I remove it. Again, great stuff.
Rattlesnakes!!!! I would let that be for a bit too. Good luck
makes q glass install look simple. Thanks buddy
Anytime!
Thanks for the information John!!👍🏽
Of course anytime
Thanks for the video!
Nice Car JL! Which engine/transmission do you have in your car?
Welcome!!
Seeing how things go together is a great benefit to us all. But your talking us through each of the individual steps is priceless.
Thanks for the feedback and watching too! Let’s me know I am
Doing good.
Jon, once I find your address, I’m coming to kick you in the butt! No more using the car as a work bench!!! Good work man!
Lol. Well deserved actually. Wish I could send you a photo right now of how bad it is.
Kroil is a great product for breaking loose rusted nuts and bolts
I agree 100% that stuff works great!
Hello my Firebird brother thanks for your kind words I will be putting on the white feathers 🪶 on the bird soon ..... great video I even needed this one because I never have done 1/4 glass before thanks for sharing your knowledge 👍
Of course anytime pal. I am looking forward to seeing the white bird in your garage
The man…
Every once and awhile I get one right. 😎
If you want a challenge try a power window car. I've spent so many hours trying to adjust my power windows I'm feeling PTSD from just watching you do it. When I started my passenger door glass stopped about 2 inches from the top. After spending about 3 weekends on it, it now stops about 4 inches from the top. I've taken several months off of even looking at the car and I still don't feel like I'm up to trying again.
I haven’t done much with the power windows on a first gen. If you removed the regulator does the glass move up and down easily? I had issues with one car with manual windows where the rollers just would not glide and basically stop before doing all the way up. I ended up taking the track out an filing on it some for more clearance to get it to work.
@@VinylVillageGarage I finally discovered the front roller was catching on the wires for the motor. I used zip-ties to hold it back but unfortunately now I have to put the regulator back in. I've done it before but I can't figure out how! The electric motor is in the way. Thanks for the video. I couldn't have done it without it.
@@Rathbone35 good deal it’s been figured out. No more ptsd!!
@@VinylVillageGarage I wouldn't say that. I've spent a couple hours trying to get the regulator back in. I tried again tonight. I even let my girlfriend give it a shot. The opening in 69 is smaller and the motor makes the regulator much larger. I feel like I'm really close, though.
I'll be paying close attention when the dash goes back in. Most of my bulbs are burnt out and I'm planning to upgrade to full gages when I have it apart.
Besides not have the access from the door jam, will this install work on a ‘67? It’s been so long since we took the 1/4 glass out. Great video.
Yup exactly the same. You can also hold the regulator from the other side too especially with someone helping.
Thanks for this video, I just replaced the top cylinder on the same side only to find the window regulator arm roller broken. ziptied it back together temporarily. what is best source for these parts? Car is looking great! Awesome work!
Very welcome!!! Check out Ames performance they sell the roller for the regulators and the glass like $6 each.
@@VinylVillageGarage Thanks, I am new to these cars, always loved them! Now that I have one, just trying to get her as nice as possible! Your Videos are a Huge help!
@@keithholt4319 congrats on your new car. Hope you get many years of enjoyment with it as well even if you have to tinker with it. Glad these videos help. Thanks for watching as well.
💪😎
Making good progress
I really appreciate the work you put into these videos, it very beneficial to us rookie’s!
@@VinylVillageGarage it's almost finished.
Hey man, do you have a preference or any know-how on converting a manual steering system to a power steering system? I have a 1968 bird. Will a 1968 camaro system work?
The power steering gear box for the most part are all the same Camaro/Firebird, just different ratios but should work. The pitman arm is different between power and manual boxes as long as it has the right pitman arm you are good there. The pump will need brackets to match your engine like is it a Pontiac, Chevy, LS a or ?? That might be the only thing you would need to get.
@@VinylVillageGarage thank you! It's a Pontiac 400 engine (now bored and stroked to 468).
@@VinylVillageGarage Performance Online (POL) had a power steering conversion kit that should work for my car. The kit aligns with what you said and comes with a new pitman arm. Thank you again!
@@devencoy9793 thanks for the info on the kit good to know where to
Get them
This is so very helpful, thank you!!
I think so too.
