- If you're looking for a Linux distribution that looks like macOS, then pearOS is the operating system for you!
Today we take a look at pearOS and do a direct comparison to macOS to see how well it does compared to it's fruitful counterpart. I really don't know what I was doing with my life this video.

elementary is really nice but the looks I hate it and moreover the store! like manjaro everything is available there very limited apps so I don't use elementary otherwise I will replace manjaro by elementary........

Absolutely love this! I’m surprised that Apple hasn’t sued them out of existence… And as one person mentioned we finally arrived in the iCarly dimension. Now we just need to make a mobile version of this and get pear-shaped phones and will have it

they dont really have any grounds to sue. this is basically just ubuntu with a theme.

I remember the original PearOS - and it was fantastic. This version appears to be at least as good - I’m running the ‘Monterey’ version - and for those people who are hung up about such things… it appears to be based on Kde desktop - not Gnome! I’m really looking forward to this one being around for a long time!

The Catalina pearos looks like just vanilla gnome with a macOS skin
The"finder" is either nautilus or Nemo, and they're barely themed. Great file managers though

I can understand using windows 7 instead of 10 but why do you not only have Windows Aero off but use an ancient version of Firefox
To make the system smoother. Aero consumes alot of ram. Also, older versions of ff works better on older os es.

In the past, Apple used to sue people or say Linux distros which tried to look like Mac OS. Now they do something else. They figured out this actually gets new users interested in Macs and one day they will want to have the real deal and go buy it.
My favorite macOS-like DE on Linux is when you use Ubuntu Mate and set the layout to Cupertino, it actually looks like an older version of macOS, and it's very well established version of Ubuntu, so you know you won't have any problems with it at all, it's a super stable OS, not resource intesive, so it's pretty good for older laptops, and if you don't like the old look you can easily install a modern theme to make it into something closer to modern macOS

Libre Office Isn't part of Pear
Libre Office is A Local Program, And its free to the public.
I also used it and it does look Same as the Microsoft Office
I recommend to used Libre Office if your License Is expired.
Well, I recommend using GSuite or OnlyOffice because of compatibility issues
Google Docs and the others work fine as well
It kinda works, sometimes it eats all the energy on my PC and sometimes it works fine
@@user-uq3um5nq7d I agree and use Google docs quite a bit, but many people go into open software alternatives to get away from companies like Google and Microsoft, so that option isn't quite perfect.
Tobias Böh the same companies fund open source technology so you cant really get away from them but you can try your best

The dock in Catalina is Dash to Dock or Plank. If you want the apps button it has to be Dash to dock so you have to configure it, it's a GNOME extension. If it's plank you can't add that

Another project worth mentioning is iBuntu - or iBuntu OS i don't know haha - ibuntuos.com they are also already in development of a Version 2 which will be based on KDE - so far their version is based on Gnome - i use their system for months now and am totally amazed :)

How did you get Catalina on VirtualBox?
4:42 MacOS in VirtualBox? How did you get that to work? I recall due to Apple's (very stupid) SLA, VirtualBox arbitrarily will not allow running any Apple OS unless you have specific hardware or something completely dumb like that. The only way I ever got virtualized MacOS was by running modifications on VMware because of these stupid restrictions.

Ive been trying to theme kde to look and function exactly as macos for a long time now, but ive never gotten as close as this distro has.
You should try again tho because KDE can look way more like MacOS than PearOS
