Take a virtual voyage through the upcoming Princess and the Frog attraction coming soon to Disneyland and Walt Disney World. This overlay is planned to rethemed Splash Mountain on both the east and west coasts. Follow Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure as they prepare for their first ever Mardi Gras performance. This virtual ride through was built inside Planet Coaster- Console Edition. That’s a great ride name. We agree that the original name is really iconic. Only time will tell when the new ride name will be revealed

This is the first time I've ever seen an overlay virtual ride through of a Disneyland attraction before it's fully finished. I am looking forward to the final outcome

Hmm, I'm all for the idea of making Splash Mountain into the Princess and the Frog ride, but I think it would've been better if the ride's story focused more on Tiana than Louis the Alligator. Like maybe the ride's new plot can be something like Tiana accidentally loses something special in the bayou and she and Naveen search through the whole bayou to find the item. Or Tiana and Naveen have their honeymoon throughout the whole bayou and meet up with their friends along the way. How about it?
I think that’s a cool idea. I was surprised at the lack of other animatronics besides Louis. I was especially shocked that there wasn’t a Tiana animatronic in it.

I don’t think it’ll have such an elaborate plot. I think it’ll be like a storybook ride but with much better technology.
I’m going to be very disappointed if this end up being the route it takes. As if the movie wasn’t 90% them as animals, now the ride is going to be themed after a supporting character?? I wanted a storybook ride for Tiana

The only time I will be going in this cause I’ve been scared for a while cause if the drop at the end but princess and the frog is one of my favorite Disney movies that is dear to my heart so I’ll do it for princess and the frog

I am really excited that this ride will become "Princess and the Frog" themed since there is basically no representation of this movie in the parks. Although, I will miss the brer rabbit storyline of the ride.
Kinda sucks that it has to be another hand me down attraction tho.

I hope they re-purpose as many of the animatronics as they can, in the scenes they'd work (like frogs and some re-skins for bayou scene parts+dig a little deeper). I love the use of Friends on the Other side right before the drop!
As much as I'll miss Splash for nostalgia reasons, I'm very excited for the re-theme!

I will miss splash mountain but I do think this is a welcome and nice change. I also think the actual version would blow us away. We are excited for the new version as well. Luckily, as of now there is no closing date yet for Disneyland's version of the ride so there is still time to experience it before it closes for good.

Ngl, I'm kinda disappointed that this is what's replacing Splash Mountain. Splash Mountain was such a great ride, and I hope this does it justice.
The only thing I like about this new overlay is that those two creepy vultures who taunt you before you drop aren't there. I don't like those two. But I do like Dr. Facilier. He's one of my favorite Disney villains. I'm glad he'll replace those two ugly birds.
As a lifetime fan of Song of the South and Splash Mountain, I did like the vultures myself but I agree that they WERE very out of place in the ride, as they really had no place in Song of the South either.
I love that they are finally giving this ride a new look after many many year and I love that they are giving this movie some appreciation

For me, it's hard to see splash mountain go. I remember the characters used on the ride from a previous attraction called America sings which I was lucky enough to have seen in my early childhood. I was at Disneyland for the grand opening of Splash Mountain and it has remained one of my all-time favorite rides. At least it will be the same track and some of the design features will remain. Such as the riverboat at the end (also part of America sings). As Walt always told us, Disneyland will never be completed. On with the show.

I think this will be a wonderful new theme! The ride was desperately in need of a revamp. It looked ancient and tired.

I really would have liked to see more of the princess and the frog story line included in this. Not just Louis and his trumpet. I hope this is an early concept for the ride and not a final draft
This was my favorite movie as a kid, I rode splash mountain for the first time this summer, it’s a good ride I know everyone is sad to see it go and I’m pretty sad as well but I’m more happy than sad, this is just what happens in the theme park industry, stuff gets re-themed, stuff gets removed. Every since this was a punched I’ve been excited. I can see how hard you worked on this, I know some people won’t appreciate this but I sure do.

I only got to go to Disney world once so far because of my boyfriend, we went to Epcot, but he talked about how much he loved splash island and now I'll never be able to ride the specific one he always talked about :(

I love princess tiana and her having a ride is long overdue. I wonder how naveen is gonna look. With me being a black woman of native American descent (my grandparents were native) Pochantus and Tiana always had a special place in my heart. (Especially since I live in the South) Watching princess and the frog aswell as ratatouille made me realize that cooking was my passion. And now I want to become a pastry chef and own my own cafe. Tiana is really an inspiration.
That is truly inspiring. We hope that you will reach that dream someday!

Yeah this is totally going to fit in with thunder mountain, country bares and the rest of the old west town in frontier land. This is definitely going to fit in in critter country at Disney land but at Disney world… come on Disney

If you don’t want the retheme to happen, that’s fine! If you like Splash Mountain the way it is, that’s fine too! Thank you so much for the response. It's great to have responses here that are not negative towards the ride change or ourselves. We know that change is difficult, but we all get through eventually. We are sure the attraction in the end will be fantastic after the change. Plus, it's still going to be the same ride layout. Just different theme.

I really like what you have going here! The tunes you chose (especially down in New Orleans) has a similar vibe to Zip-a-dee-doo-da so there isn't a harsh change from before. Having the majority of the ride have a bayou theme also keeps the original ride's vibe. I like that you chose 'friends from the other side' for the climax, however, I heard from someone else (cannot remember their account name) recommended that during the climb the part of that song should be 'are ya ready? are ya-- reaaadyyyy?' which would be so exciting! I also love the fireflies you added! I hope Disney incorporates that and all of the other aspects you had as well. For the fireflies, I hope that in the real ride, they would be something like the stars in the Peter Pan ride (floating about and surrounding the audience).

Don't worry. It's very likely that there will plenty of animatronics in the attraction. This video is just a rough concept or idea on what it could be like.

Has it been announced yet when the renovation will take place? Asking as someone who wants to catch it either before or after it is rethemed and going soon.
A date for when the retheme will start construction hasn't been announced yet. So, there is still time to ride the original version of the ride.

Yes. Disney is going to eventually retheme Splash Mountain to a Princess and the Frog themed ride. Rumor has it that it could start changing either early winter 2021 or late winter 2022.
I feel like this is more of a rough idea of what we’ll get it’s very likely lots of changes will be made during the process and with this they’re just trying to get a feel of how things could be so I think some scenes could be longer, cut, or added

Now this is a fun ride and I have seen The Princess👸 and The Frog🐸 and it's great movie would definitely recommend for those who haven't seen it but splash Mountain has a great theme now and the music makes it more soothing 😇😇😇
THEY SHOULD MOST DEFINITELY HAVE DR FACILIERS SONG BEFORE THE BIG DROP. THE PART WHERE ITS LIKE “ARE YOU READYY” AND THE TUNNEL SHOULD BE NEON COLORS LIKE PURPLE, GREEN ETC. IF THEY DONT DO THIS THEN THEY REALLY FUMBLED THE PART.

The biggest disappointment to me is that none of the scenes were based on New Orleans. I have high hopes for the retheming, as I think princess and the frog is pretty good. But I think New Orleans would such a cool area to visit in the ride.
This isn’t the final cut of the ride so I’m sure it’ll end up a lot nicer. Disney wouldn’t take away a beloved classic and replace it with something that we wouldn’t all enjoy.
I actually heard that Dr. facillier will not be included. Not sure if that’s true. But I honestly think that would be better. Make the ride less scary for children. But I think besides the doctor facillier on the lift hill the retheme definitely could look something like this! Because they are doing a major renovation without having to pay a big cost
I have to respectfully disagree. I think including Dr. Facillier would be a great idea! Otherwise there would be no sense of urgency or danger to warrant such a huge drop. It would feel totally out of place! If they can have rides like Dinosaur I don't think this would be an issue (as long as it's not traumatizing like some consider Dinosaur). I'm curious though of how you think they could incorporate the drop otherwise?
@@lunabug2004 Disney actually released new concept art for the lift. Its not Dr facillier! It's mama odie! It looks exactly like the dog a little deeper scene in the movie. With the background and the bottle lamps. So it will problably be Dig a little deeper!
I thought there would be more I get that it's being Princess and the Frog but I thought we would see more of Tiana and her journey throughout the movie in Seymour characters so I'm kind of disappointed about that but the details are lovely and I also thought that the boat scene would be Tiana and Naveen dancing like they were at the end of the movies so I guess I imagined more when I first heard of it
