Mike, I would just like to give you a round of applause and a profound thank you.
I am a close follower of the group that cooperated with you in finding your song “Windless” that happened to be playing within the World Trade Center complex during the September 11th attacks. Jack Talerico’s footage was released around 2010. 13 years. Possibly, for the first time since the attacks we are now able to actually hear what it was really like do be there at the foot of those buildings. I know you probably, never in your wildest dreams expected this, but your music was there. Providing a sense of comfort to people in the most horrific of times. The buildings themselves and the memory of those lost will live within your music forever, I really do believe that is something for you to be proud of.
Your unfailing cooperation is something none of us expected and we are all very truly thankful for you and your kindness. So on behalf of WTCMC, thank you Mike Strickland.
Thank you. If there was any comfort provided I am honored. But the real story is that your group of individuals finds it so vital to document and tell the story of what these precious souls went through that terrible day. These are stories that will always be there to remind people to never forget what happened. Your group, through your time spent is documenting forever the details of that day. Stories are how history is told and it takes a very human and very special person to realize that this is important. You are all heros to mankind in that you will NOT forget until every detail and fact is exposed. Keep going.
@@mikestrickland For centuries, music has done a pretty good job of bringing people together, even in the most strangest of ways. But it’s always there somehow. I see these songs and I remind myself that these were some of the last pieces of music these people ever heard. You hear thousands upon thousands of songs throughout your lifetime, but has anyone ever considered what would be their last? This is what sticks out the most to me of the music at the Austin J. Tobin Plaza. These aren’t your typical pop songs, these are rather obscure and difficult to find covers and original pieces, and for a long time most were lost to time. Now, we can hear them again. We have brought back something we thought was destroyed that day.
“The music never stopped playing, there was just no one there to listen to it.”
@@toothless7849 "We brought back something we thought was destroyed that day." I agree - for this reason alone it is important. Something we can take back from the evil ones who did this. Bravo to all of you that were determined to do just that. It's the best of humanity in action. We WILL bring our world back better than ever. In honor of all of those innocent souls who lost their lives in 911. Cause that's what good humans do.
Hi Toothless! Thanks! My pleasure! Wow- you are correct. Never in my wildest dreams would we witness such an event and it's surreal to have my music wafting through the Plaza just prior to collapse. We are all on a journey presently and IMO it's no accident we are all chosen to be here now to witness this historic transition of Humanity as it ascends to a much higher level than where it has been the last 6000 years. And Sound (Frequency, Music) seems to be the core foundational language (Energy) that binds and drive all things. Cheers! And thanks for your lovely note.
Hello there!@@mikestrickland A greetings from another enthusiast of WTC muzak who happens to discover "Windless" playing within the complex a few months ago. I am writing this as today is indeed a painful remembrance of the tragedy 22 years ago. However in contrary, there is a positivity that I find your music giving comforts and happiness. Me and the others cannot thank you enough for your contribution and kindness!
🙌🎹👏👏👏LUV IT❤
This is incredible.
Nice. Dickey would be proud
Superb. Thank you.
Fantastic!!!
Oh yes !
Wonderful sound , thank you 😊
🙏
Piano only gives 'Jessica' a very Vince Guaraldi 'Linus and Lucy' feel. Very nice.
Thanks Christian- yeah, Vince very much influenced me growing up. And the ostinato bass lines in Linus and Lucy and Jessica help propel the songs along. Take care!
For your next album, can you record a soft piano version of Beauty of the Night from Bear in the Big Blue House, along with Rainbow Connection from The Muppet Movie?
I'll check it out! Thanks for your request! Take care.
@@mikestrickland Okay then
@@mikestrickland And also, record a soft piano version of A Whole New World from Aladdin for your next album
@@mikestrickland And record a soft piano version of By the Light of the Silvery Moon
