Alex this video was extremely healing for me. My whole life because of lack of same sex affection i subscribed to living a gay lifestyle. 6 years ago I came out of that and in the process of healing God has put me in healthy male relationships where same sex affection is a huge part and its not perverted or weird and its become one of the most healing aspects of my journey. Thank you so much for talking about this from the bottom of my heart thank you.
Yo I'll say this. I've had a friend for 30 years we grew up together. We had sleep overs and would sleep in the same bed. I tell this man I love him Everytime we talk. I hug him and I've cried to this man. This is what you would call a best friend. I've never had any sexual attraction to him and he wasn't to me. People think we are gay. We are not. There is nothing wrong with having a bro. Playing games with a bro or going to a movie with a bro. God wanted us to have bros. Jesus had many bros. Amen
Yes. My husband has a friend he every now and then goes hang out with and invites him over. But it’s a brotherly love and they have said “I love you” to each other
i feel like there’s been such a loss of innocence in our society, that dampens/ distorts the beauty of relationships (being platonic or romantic) and it’s so sad. The purity and innocence that God created between humans is disintegrating and sadly, that’s the way our generation is going
Ah yes! It’s so heartbreaking😭 I’ve seen this so much, and everything is being distorted and broken. People don’t realise how much we are missing in relationships these days because people bring all this other stuff sadly into it
@@suchastrangegirl36 that ain't happening. When God's kingdom comes, then things will be better. Until then, it's only gonna get worse before it gets better.
i have always felt pressured to come out as homosexual due to the way i show affection and the way i present myself. this helped me realize that society was what was pressuring me this whole time. thank you so much.
I'm so grateful for your comment! I've often wondered if our present society is what pressures us to second guess our affections for someone of the same sex and question if it is also attraction.
@@UBU41God I agree, it's almost like homosexuality has become a trend and all the young kids want to get into it, when they see big influencers like that
What’s so sad and disrespectful about spongebob is that they ask the original creator before he died if spongebob was gay, he said, “no he is a sponge, it’s a kids cartoon, he’s just friendly and is best friends with Patrick that’s it.” (Paraphrase) instead of the company honoring his words or wishes they write it off to make money of it saying he’s gay🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
@@arithelion5946 but his whole point of it he didn’t want him to be a part of anything, that wasn’t his goal for him. And it’s proving his point more, common sense a human being cannot be asexual by the original definition.
@@AmoSaxFrancis I'm asexual... I don't feel any sexual attraction. Ever. Asexuality is a real phenomenon that actually happens to human beings. It's not made up. Also, Spongebob is a sponge, and sponges reproduce asexually.
@@singaporechickenrice2484 Most people are straight and a super close opposite sex friendship is less common. it's easier to make that mistake. Accusing someone of being homosexual just because they're friends is a stretch.
@@christopherrodarte9822 lmao i have been "accused" of homosexuality and dating my best female friend and i didn't give a shit, if youre not gay or dating your friend just say so. no one cares THAT much about you or who your dating.
I have a friend who I’ve been inseparable since like kindergarten. We did everything together. Even after I moved 5 hours away we still stayed in touch. And to this day we’re still friends. And I will never forget what my mom told me about what I said about him when I was younger, “I want him as my best man one day.” And I stand by that. God has blessed me with a brother in Christ and I thank him for it.
Can we stop sexualizing kids (even if they are cartoon kids). I’ve seen people online say Lucas and the other mermaid kid is going to F, and it’s pretty disturbing.
Yeah like a lot of LGBT stuff targets kids and I think that’s wrong. I don’t even agree when I see straight middle schoolers talk about dating on tv since kids their age is going to see that. At that age they should be learning about the world, and school, not dating and kiss, and if my eyeliner looks right for this party I’m sneaking into. 😒
@@Alibern7 definitely agree. A lot of these big companies like Disney and Nickelodeon play a big role because they catch little kids attention with celebrities like Miley Cyrus ( from Hannah Montana) and Ariana Grande (from Victorious/ Sam and Kat). Then, these celebrities switch from kids friendly to adult content in a blink of an eye, and the little kids who followed them mimic there adult behavior. I made a video on this, it was disgusting what I’ve seen over the years.
Wholesome friendship is a gift from God not a step in the wrong direction. Remember that young Christians, don't be fooled by the flesh because the world will only confuse from what is truth
Amen! The world is trying to distort and pervert the beauty of wholesome friendships that God really intends. Now everything is becoming sexual and romanticised. Society is losing the pure innocence and beauty of healthy relationships 😭
im honestly just done with people making everything gay like cant i see two guys/ girls hug without someone assuming they're homosexual in the internet??
I know its annoying, I will watch a clip ore a movie and see a beautiful friendship and not see anything strange about it Then people have to ship them
Is annoying when it comes from both sides, one side they call it all gay intentionally cause is two bros and on the other hand calling it gay just to be homophobic, like bro can we just not assume???
@Tha Night science even says genetic factors can only explain 25% of homosexuality. 75% is based on other things such as desires, feelings, behavior , etc. ...so you put the puzzle pieces together
I feel like when your a “softer” guy people label you gay and it’s annoying!!! Like why do I have to be hyper Masculine to be straight and soft and label gay ???🧐. Shawn and Cory are great examples !!! ( that was a side note)
@Blueberrii I agree I know young adults who are more soft and their not gay and when I met them for the first time I was like “ wow there’s someone like me” i myself was shocked because I don’t come from the background I come from “ you gotta be tough”. “ you can’t cry “ and I’m like 🤔🧐
Yeah I always founded that funny, obviously not all men who are softer are gay, in fact I used to have a friend who was pretty much very masculine, everyone thought he was straight until we found out that he was gay. It just goes to show that sexuality doesn’t have a look
well when something smells like shit, looks like shit, my guess can be shit. even if I'm wrong. Well don't be masculine, but don't be surprised when u don't get girls. its how our minds were created. If you aren't masculine and act like a "man" per say, people are allowed to assume that because its things we do to generally and things of ou nature and such a coincidence that women are attracted to those men.
It seems that if people don't understand Jesus and His love, they won't be able to understand how Christians have affection and love towards each other. Simply as that. Sad, but it's true.
Then I guess that calls us Christians to be a light, not judge, and model of affectionate friendships. Otherwise, u're right, they will *not* understand the love of Christ. We need to first understand, like this video and where ppl are coming from, then be understood from the presence of Christ.
@@zy8753 That's exactly what we're called to do. We are supposed to be Ambassadors of Christ on earth. Others have to know the love of God through us, but it does not always come across because of 1. The Christian or 2. The unbeliever. It's definitely a process. But I genuinely think, if without the Holy Spirit, unbeliever cannot understand who God is and God's word, then how can they truly understand God's love, especially in a world like today?
@@hermionesings truth sister. Some revolutionary but simple advice I’ve learned was to be a friend like Christ to everyone, even strangers on the Internet. Cos you never know how the Holy Spirit work through you to help someone else or even ourselves if we’re lacking.

it's literally men not being able to be affectionate with other men and not being able to talk about their emotions that leads to suicide. This is why the suicide rate of men is so high. It's truly sad. Thank you for addressing it.
Maybe everyone should stop trying to find a “sexual” relationship with everything. Like honestly unless you’re a part of the relationship it shouldn’t matter what people’s status is. We really don’t NEED to know if someone’s straight or gay or anything else, unless we are trying to have a sexual relationship with said person.
20 years ago my best friend and I of now 47 years was gonna get T shirts that said "we're not gay we're just best friends" because people started to think that we were a couple. Yet we were sisters in Christ! ❤✝️❤
@@scootingscoot4807 "people started to think that we were a couple. Yet we were sisters in christ" She may have not intended it that way but she is writting as they not being a couple as a concequence of them being sisters in christ. As if being gay and being Christian were incompatible things.
When you said culture that really clicked for me! Living in South Korea and Vietnam, I’ve seen how men do things that in America would be deemed as gay. I’ve seen guys hang on each other, hug, hold hands or arms, or be more affectionate towards each other. And honestly when I see it , I just see two guys or a group of guys just being friends. The only thing that makes you gay is desiring someone of the same sex not loving your brother or sister in Christ.
Yeah but also not really, a person should know how to tell the difference between affection and attraction. Is just a matter for the person to ask yourself “do I want to be with this person romantically?” “Do I see them like a sister/brother?” Questions that help you distinguish ya know
I’ve been getting this video in my recommended for a while today I said “Ok let me watch it” and here I’m crying cause I realize how people have corrupted something so pure. And how my own brother has fallen victim to this whole mentality.

@@singaporechickenrice2484 It's seen that way because there are many things that when looked at through modern day lenses fit into that but the director himself said it wasnt meant to be that way. At 6:58 you said exactly what the Bible states. People will become lovers of self! 2 Timothy 3:2 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Appreciate this being expressed.. I think it's an extremely timely topic with how things are these days. I'm a guy who "feels" deeply, and always has, and have been blessed with deep relationships from an early age and I noticed after college or so people would find those close relationships out of the ordinary, and that was weird to me. Watching this made a lot of what I felt clear. Honestly I don't think people have many deep relationships at all these days, let alone with same sex relationships. With a sex-first, talk later approach to relationships, having any kind of depth to a relationship, as we've seen, you get people trying to make it out to be something suspicious. It's sad because there is so much to be had in a deep friendship. I'd like to see that made normal again.
👏 amen. We need to normalize friendship. The greek term is "philio". Love is not about just love. There are different forms of love (philia-friendship, eros-romantic, agape-unconditional/sacrificial, and storge-empathy).
It was just a rumor, everyone thought Disney was just trynna profit and stuff until it was confirm that the movie wasn’t gonna me gay after all, In fact the story is based on one of Pixar’s directors childhood
I saw it as gay because of how they had to blend in with everyone else and not reveal their true identity because everyone around them hated people of their identity. And Albertos jealousy came off as “romantic” to me.
Alot of people are interpreting the movie as gay because it does show parallels to the queer experience, for instance Luca parents trying to send Luca far away (convertion therapy), the need for Luca to hide who he is in the town, and the ending when the Grandma said " not many will accept him, but he knows how to find those that do"
My best friend and I are always mistaken for being gay. We don’t usually care, but now we get bombarded with questions about our sexuality by people I know. It’s frustrating.
Be friends with the same sex: Oh my gosh! I didn’t know you were gay! Be friends with the opposite sex: You definitely are in love! You must love them so much! So what is it??!
The idea of friendships are altering. That’s why I’m relying on God & how friendships are portrayed in the Bible. Because when u let society paint what a thing is, it changes
@@saigie3908 That's the point though. Things change and nothing remains the same. As someone that studies language and culture we accept what's changed as true right now. It's easier to have a standard in terms of comprehension but I think a more full understanding comes from understanding what's changed instead of denying its existence with an eternal standard.
@@humourlessjester3584 I’m not denying it, in the Bible there are multiple friendships that I just like to look up to rather than what the world puts out there. As a gay guy, I want to thank you for this video. I agree with your message. It’s heart felt and on point. True friendship is rooted is mutual affection and love.
It's absolutely true! I'm 22 now, but when I was younger, especially when Glee aired, seeing same-sex attraction gave me a weird feeling. I wasn't homophobic--as that bothered me ppl would really have such intense hate--but I knew even as a kid w/o ever being told by anyone that same sex attraction wasn't right. Over the years, I subscribed to the culture and even thought I was gay or anything but straight, ashamed to think I was straight. It was the most confusing and regressive point of my life, cos I felt I didn't have an identity cos I couldn't choose my "flavor" of sexuality. And this is huge on social media, like Pinterest. I like to look at fandom art among other cool pins, but almost every fandom post has someone either "simp-ing" or "I'm so gay for her" or even their usernames being telling. Our culture is literally warping this generation's minds on sexual orientation and attraction at a very young age. This was a very good, and most needed video and I'm so glad I've found your channel. You inspire me to take living this life more seriously and w/ a sound biblical mind that can discern this stuff! Thanks
Am younger and I kinda have the same issues about choosing my 'sexualty "although am straight I still struggle with this around one of my closet friends and it hurts that when I wanna avoid her coz of my confusion she is still there😔
I've always hugged everyone my whole life. I'm 27. I will say "hi" to most people. I have literally never been treated like I'm weird for that. I've been called a lot, but never gay. It's insecurity that causes all of this mess. Toxic masculinity to me is just toxic femininity in men. It's insecurity.
One sweet story about female friendship is Anne Shirley and Diana Berry on “Anne of green gables” although the modern adaptation “Anne with an E” adds homosexuality between two other characters who’s “friendship” parallels the main characters.

THIS. This has put into words all of my frustrations, and people not being able to look normally on friendships anymore. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO.
Growing up I felt a lot of pain from the idea of being gay When I was small I was raped by a women and assumed after that I either had to enjoy that company (which hurt because I never actually felt that way despite feeling I HAD to) and after that I found it very hard to get close to my female friends because I assumed (and still am dealing with the effects of) everything came down to sex I will say some characters mentioned where actually written gay but you have a point that people want to force it more due to it being popular and under represented. It does genuinely hurt relationships that we believe if we act too affectionate that that means we are interested- even with my male friend I had to stop saying I love him (which I do he is amazing) because people were assuming we were dating and I didn’t want that We aren’t allowed to show affection and have deep relationships without the whole world needing to say “hey look they are dating” and it breaks my heart- I spent so long keeping people at an arms length due to fear of them assuming I’m gay that I missed out on so much even know I fear writing this comment because someone could easily say I’m just in the closest and it’s horrible So anyway just thanks for saying something and I’m surprised that only 48% of people said that affection and attraction are different things (at least when I took the quiz) Continue to be radical like Jesus
Jesus said, we would know the truth and the truth would set us free. I pray you feel the freedom to love your dearest friends as God had intended for you!
You are loved sister. As a man that also struggles and lives in fear of what others think of me and how I act around other guys, I get it. I live with that fear every day and trust me it'll get better. Continue to have hope. Christ loves you and so does your fellow brothers and sisters.
Great video, as a military member you develop lifelong friendships that includes affection and love, because you have to be willing to give you life for your friends and sacrifice everything for them. It has nothing to do with same sex attraction just deep friendship/brotherhood. Society corrupts viewpoints, John 15:13 is how we should have friendships
I've watched Falcon and the Winter soldier and didn't get those vibes what so ever. I also just watched Luca today fully knowing what people where saying about it and after I watched it I thought to myself these are just two boys that have a very strong friendship that they care about one another very much, I just had to watch it with an open view and not just jump to conclusions. Im saying this as a homosexual dude, I think the reason people want David and Jonathan to be gay is to confirm that they won’t go to hell like others say for being gay. If that makes any sense.
@Convert have you read Matthew 25? It says we will go into an everlasting fire that was made for satan and the fallen angels. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. It’s not that the devil will torture us but that the fire will.
@Convert God absolutely created Hell, and the fire is absolutely literal, not metaphorical or abstract. I recommend looking at ReformedWiki's videos on the subject.
So true!! I completely agree!! You can totally have same sex friendships that ARE intimate and loving without there being a same sex attraction. You are so on point!
Just because two dudes are bros doesn't mean they are gay and attracted to eachother alot of people seem to have forgotten that platonic friendships between the same sex exist
I love this! Because I always found it strange that everytime I had a female best friend and we would spend all our time together and hug that it would be seen by others as gay. They would say we were lesbians or assume we were together in a relationship and I was always confused because I'm like this is just my friend! I may or may not have had a boyfriend at the time but I feel like without that, why can't I just be close to my best friend? What is wrong with our society to where it normal to question if every relationship is gay...
Once again, you took on a sensitive topic and kept it open and honest! Praise God for your courage and helping to show us that relationships are more than sex!
Thank you so much for this video!! My parents are sus about the nature of my friendships. Your video has cleared a lot of things up, not just for them but for me as well.
I like cuddling other guys, its just my way of being affectionate, but I don't really have sexual desires for them. This video helps me reassure myself that I am not weird.
This message is needed. I wish there was message like this for Young boys telling them it's okay to have Young make friends and not be homosexual. Young boys don't understand that they can desire close male bonds and not be homosexual. It's confusing even for them. I have had a young boy tell me he didn't have sexual desire or feelings for boys but he really enjoyed talking with boys more than girls ( normal for his age) so he felt that he must want a boyfriend instead of a girlfriend.
It is so encouraging to hear you say this. This topic is something that I have thought about a lot. And I am sad that the close same sex friendship seems to be a dyeing thing. Thanks for calling me back to aspiring to having close friendships, not seeming attraction everywhere I see affection, and walking confidently in Christ.
For anyone reading this who wants to read more about how this strange attitude has permeated our culture, I really really recommend an article called WHAT IF FRIENDSHIP, NOT MARRIAGE, WAS AT THE CENTER OF LIFE? - it's from the Atlantic and historicizes the process of friendship being eroticized. Such an eye-opening article.
“It has actually become very necessary in our time to rebut the theory that every firm and serious friendship is really homosexual.” - C.S. Lewis Also, you can blame Freud on this one. He made human psychology completely centered around sexually.
Thank God most psychologists learn about Freud and his theories, but also learn that he came to his conclusions based solely on his own experiences and the observations of his kids, so it wasn’t very scientific. Other much more scientifically sound theories are in play and relied on. Nonetheless, his theory definitely helped shape everything from a sexual point of view.
Man, you have no idea how much this video spoke to my heart. I've been thinking about this for so long, but never managed to put it into words. Thank you for having the courage to bring up topics like this!! May God bless you abundantly!
5:12 For clarification, the person who made Gravity Falls was very clear later on about wanting to have many LGBT themes in the show, and many of his wishes were denied by Disney XD because they were afraid of backlash from China.
I remember I was on the playground in 4th grade and I had linked arms with my 2 besties and skipped around with them arm in arm. Later that day I found out that there were some other girls trying to spread a rumor that we were gay. I wasnt very affectionate with to begin with but from that point on I was even more conscious about how I showed affection toward my friends. Though it turns out that the girl that started the rumor had "come out" later in high school.
I don’t listen to kpop as much anymore but when I used to people would sexualize the members and push the lgbtq on the members like if the members had a close friendship some fans would make a fake relationship out of them and i felt like the members felt uncomfortable with how the members were being sexualized and forced lgbtq on them when the members would be straight
Thank you Alex! This is such an important and powerful message! Having healthy same sex relationships is such an important part of mental health. Sometimes it seems society would have us believe that we have to participate in a homosexual lifestyle to get the affection we so desperately NEED …and it’s just not true or healthy to live that way… in a way where people are trading their bodies and sex for affection, for love. So healing, ❤️🩹 Thank you 🙏

@@nyx9168 yeah. As a Christian, it’s important to remember that Christ told us not to “be of this world.” It’s a good moral compass for me personally, if the world (media, mega corporations, government, etc.) are pushing something, I look to the Bible and it’ll show that God speaks out against such things pretty much every time. Even after all this time, the Bible remains relevant, highlighting how it is the truth. The only reason I mention relevance is because previously being a non-believer, I viewed it as an old book and nothing more. But the words spoken in the Bible being relevant today show that God is indeed real and it helped bring me back to Christ.
Yea for me I’m in high school and my entire time being in school (elementary to now) dudes have to talk about things that “guys are suppose to talk about” like sports girls video games etc, and when we have those deep conversations it feels good and nobody feels sus or gay, so I agree guys and girls need to be able to do what the other gender is comfortable talking about with the same sex without it being gay. (Sorry if this makes no sense)
Back in 6th grade I met a so called bestie and she would always hug me and our friendship was deep ( our relationship now is not as deep as before). People would ask me privately if I was bu or so and I would say no and question a lot. Also I was very close with girls rather than guys because guys didn’t like me. I also got that a lot from people :( but now it’s a norm and I’m still learning. Thank you Mr. Alex for making this. :) ❤️ much love to your family and you.
Same. All the time people would assume from that because most of my friends were girls that I was automatically gay. But now, as I am older and not in school, it doesn’t even matter.
I think the reason people think Luca is about being gay isn’t because they’re good friends. It’s because of the metaphor with the sea monsters and coming out. Actually by the end of the movie it’s obvious that Luca and Alberto aren’t dating they were just close friends because they related to each other and had that same secret. And people think the metaphor with sea monsters and not wanting people to know who you truly are combined with the movie coming out during Pride month is a strong sign that it’s about coming out.
The Greeks even had a word for friendship love, they called it Philia. We now think that romantic love is the only love there is. “Greater love has no man than to lay down his life for his brother (friend) - the wise words from Jesus that all of us could use in our friendships.
I worked so hard for about 20 years to help my brother recognize that what I have for him is an affection that our father had for us, both our passed away worldly father and our father in heaven. I never gave up no matter how many times. He never ran away from me either. I’m blessed for that. And now we can talk about anything together. He shares things with me he wouldn’t share with anyone. Cause he knows that when he talks with me he’s talking with me and the Father in heaven. And the same grace and forgiveness our Savior Jesus Christ has allowed for God to gift to me, I pass onward to my brother.
Men are affectionate to each other all over the world except North America. Instead we're awkward and have trouble making friends. As for the media, writers are taking their pens and making different characters gay, adding sexuality to friendships. The media preaches their own values a lot.
Thank you SO much for this video. This needed to be said badly for a long time. This confusion with affection and attraction has really been bothering me for years and I never knew how to explain it. It really sucks that being compassionate same sex friends is always labeled as being gay. So everyone thinks and makes everything gay when it actually isn’t. They are teaching children that (like you said) we can’t show affection towards the same sex without being gay. Which is very toxic. Just because everyone accepts gay people now, that doesn’t mean everyone wants to BE gay. Whenever two male protagonists ever appear in screen, people immediately start shipping them. Like being bros is not even a possibility anymore. People view male friendships as “boring” now so they automatically want to make them gay for it to be “more interesting.” People do this with straight people too and it’s very sad. Why is no one allowed to be friends anymore? Why does everything have to lead to sex? And the part about how society is so selfish that they need to have something out of a relationship like sex is exactly right. That’s where this “friends with benefits” came to be. Selfish people. Being just friends or having a real relationship with the person wasn’t good enough for them so they needed sex out of it. Smh. And yes, society is most definitely pressuring people to be gay. Confusing them into thinking their affection for their best friend means sexual attraction. I bet at least 40-50% of people who come out as gay now were pressured into it and confused affection for attraction. So many people are coming out as gay now, it doesn’t even seem like accurate numbers. I also blame porn being heavily shoved in people’s faces everywhere you look for a reason people turn “gay”. It’s pretty much forced and pressured on them to be gay now because it’s “cool” or “trendy” and so incredibly accepted. If they’re actually truly gay, fine, but most of the people I see appear to be faked, forced. and blinded. And then they continue to be blinded because everyone starts encouraging them and saying what they’re feeling is true without even knowing the person’s relationship. Smh I really am disappointed with society nowadays. Makes me anxious to even make other female friends because they could confuse friendship for attraction…
So true. I (a female) have mostly female friends that i'm SOO close with without any romantic or sexual aspects whatsoever and still we're being labeled as lesbian by guys. Like what? I just have people so talk to about anything, people i hug and love spending time with.
Young boys need to know they can have close friendships. That’s healthy.
Same with girls

And girls, too. Hmm. 😔

Amen

That’s amazing! Deep down everyone yearns for a close same sex friendship like that I’m sure.
Homosexual attraction is not always sexual attraction.
This made me smile so much.
i feel like there’s been such a loss of innocence in our society, that dampens/ distorts the beauty of relationships (being platonic or romantic) and it’s so sad. The purity and innocence that God created between humans is disintegrating and sadly, that’s the way our generation is going
This is very true and it sucks. Beautiful relationships don't have to have anything to do with sex.
Ah yes! It’s so heartbreaking😭 I’ve seen this so much, and everything is being distorted and broken. People don’t realise how much we are missing in relationships these days because people bring all this other stuff sadly into it

I know its annoying, I will watch a clip ore a movie and see a beautiful friendship and not see anything strange about it
Then people have to ship them
Yup I’ve been seeing people actually intentionally push it because they want it to be that way
Is annoying when it comes from both sides, one side they call it all gay intentionally cause is two bros and on the other hand calling it gay just to be homophobic, like bro can we just not assume???
@Tha Night science even says genetic factors can only explain 25% of homosexuality. 75% is based on other things such as desires, feelings, behavior , etc. ...so you put the puzzle pieces together

Unfortunately society portrays toxic masculinity in movies as manly and what women find attractive.
Yeah I always founded that funny, obviously not all men who are softer are gay, in fact I used to have a friend who was pretty much very masculine, everyone thought he was straight until we found out that he was gay. It just goes to show that sexuality doesn’t have a look

Exactly. Society needs to pick itself back up before it’s too late.
Maybe everyone should stop trying to find a “sexual” relationship with everything. Like honestly unless you’re a part of the relationship it shouldn’t matter what people’s status is.

Growing up I felt a lot of pain from the idea of being gay
When I was small I was raped by a women and assumed after that I either had to enjoy that company (which hurt because I never actually felt that way despite feeling I HAD to) and after that I found it very hard to get close to my female friends because I assumed (and still am dealing with the effects of) everything came down to sex
I will say some characters mentioned where actually written gay but you have a point that people want to force it more due to it being popular and under represented. It does genuinely hurt relationships that we believe if we act too affectionate that that means we are interested- even with my male friend I had to stop saying I love him (which I do he is amazing) because people were assuming we were dating and I didn’t want that
We aren’t allowed to show affection and have deep relationships without the whole world needing to say “hey look they are dating” and it breaks my heart- I spent so long keeping people at an arms length due to fear of them assuming I’m gay that I missed out on so much even know I fear writing this comment because someone could easily say I’m just in the closest and it’s horrible
So anyway just thanks for saying something and I’m surprised that only 48% of people said that affection and attraction are different things (at least when I took the quiz)
Continue to be radical like Jesus
Jesus said, we would know the truth and the truth would set us free. I pray you feel the freedom to love your dearest friends as God had intended for you!

I spent 8 years “openly gay” i can tell the difference super easy because of that. God is still healing me from that.
Knocked it outta the park.
So much to take in here.
So good Alex! Thanks for the awesome breakdown as usual. So grateful for your content! 👏🏾🙏🏾
This was so good. Let us fight for brotherly affection
Thank you for this Alex! Thank you for your strength to share. Stay strong in God brother!
This was soooo good! Such an important topic to talk about!
So healing, ❤️🩹 Thank you 🙏
Thank you for saying what so many people are afraid to say or don't know how to say. God is doing amazing things through you and you are such an inspiration. Thank you for sharing this message. God Bless❤️
@ 7:10 "People are becoming so selfish that they can't be in a relationship unless they're getting something sexual out of it."
To truly grasp all of what you’re saying requires a paradigm shift from cultural views. This was good Alex. God bless you to keep doing what you’re doing! We’re👏🏿here👏🏿for👏🏿it👏🏿
This shouldn't even have to be made. People be wack nowadays.
This is such an important topic. And the way you spoke about it was key. The way you took your time to carefully stay on topic !!
I constant feel pressured by today’s society to be something I’m not. My friends are all gay then there is me the straight one and they make me seem like there is something wrong with something I said
If all your friends are gay, something is wrong. Not because they are gay, but because you’re in a very small bubble that doesn’t really exist outside this bubble
Yeah It seems most people my age are not straight and I feel like I’m the only one who is. Which isn’t a problem for me cuz I don’t feel pressured to be anything I’m not.
@@nyx9168 do you think they’re doing it for reasons like fitting in? Or is it because they’re being told that it’s natural and normal to be that way? I’m only 24, but I feel like I grew up in a different world from those who are only 17/18 because of the things they teach in schools and tech usage
@@BennettParsons1 prolly a mixture of both. In school I don’t here them teaching about LGBQT rights and stuff like that but the agenda is pushed everywhere from commercials to bags from stores. If the world is teaching its acceptable now then I guess teens my age are going to swayed to believe it is.
I have a 5 month old son and I want him to see this video someday. God bless you.
I’ve never really struggled with this but man this is one of the best videos I’ve seen.
It’s that David and Jonathan relationship right there 😌
( Bible reference)
So sad, it makes best friend’s of the same sex conscious about being close.
THANK YOU! I talk about this to people all the time. I don't know how I ran into this video, but I am so glad I did. Happy Sunday!
You completely made sense!
@@milesj2658 I’m currently going into the 11th grade and now I don’t really have friends, good to know I wasn’t alone. Let’s be bestie :)
@@xsmileyx4037 Yh we should

This is such a good point!!! I miss older shows 😭
I think the reason people think Luca is about being gay isn’t because they’re good friends.
This!!! My Hispanic guy friends are even more affectionate than I am, because I’m Eastern European and Romanian women don’t show affection very much!
One of my favourite fictional friendships is Merlin and Arthur.
Ugh!!! Thank you so so much for sharing this! So thought-provoking! Going to sit and pray on this (and really excited to do so)
So true. I (a female) have mostly female friends that i'm SOO close with without any romantic or sexual aspects whatsoever and still we're being labeled as lesbian by guys. Like what? I just have people so talk to about anything, people i hug and love spending time with.
