Mang Inasal really helped me a lot when I was still a med student back in Manila City. There were times I wasn't able to eat or had a full lunch the whole day so I ended up very hungry. So before I travel for 2 hours back home I usually eat at Mang Inasal with my usual order of 2 barbecues and unli rice which I usually consume 5-6 rice.
Yeah if im so hungry and outside i would take 1 full meal of Chowking's Chicken Laureat and cola 😂😂😂 love it and im full Sorry im not fan of mang inasal

Mang Inasal is a good intro to Philippine cuisine as a fastfood, because their main product is a more commercial version of the authentic inasal from Bacolod and Iloilo, they have halohalo and pancit palabok, and Filipino style pork bbq. A real homestyle Filipino restaurant can be expensive and a random carinderia can sometimes be disappointing, but Mang Inasal has that quality control. An almost authentic taste with convenience of fastfood.
This video randomly showed up in my feed. Makes me crave for Mang Inasal. It’s been months since I had one. The branch near my place is always jam-packed.
Sometimes, you can ask the locals how to eat and which condiments to use. For instance, if you bite into a piece of chili, you can create a small mix in a saucer with chili, soy sauce, and calamansi or vinegar, which makes a great dip for your chicken. .. welcome to Ph, enjoy your stay.
Sounds good, but honestly for me chicken in Mang Inasal is flavored enough. I don't need any sauce for it, but for rice I don't mind some extra sauces, haha. But surely I will try locals way too :)
Watching this video from Southern California, and here I am at 5am in the morning, mouth is watering for that Mang Inasal chicken with these sauces/condiments gently splashed on top of the rice, pressed and mixed, reminds me you've had your experience of Pinoy eating on a roll. That litte tiny bites of siling labuyo, hot local pepper that loves them, creates a picture of Filipinoness. Unlimited rice? You know your Pinoy stuff, hahaa! Keep it up!
Wow! 5am haha bad time to grave for Inasal😁and i heard in US you guys don't even have this type of restaurant yet..haha of course unlimited rice in Mang Inasal😁😁
I'm only up to this video in your series so far and I don't even know if you're still in the Philippines. I would recommend trying Kare Kare with the bagoong (shrimp paste). It's my favorite and I wouldn't say it's common to find, but a real dining treat when you can find a good serving of it. If you make it to the Tagaytay area, which is south of Manila, on the same island, There is a restaurant I recommend called "Leslie's". They do an excellent job with traditional filipino foods. Servings are meant for more than 1 person, so bring people with you to share. Watching from Florida.
3:50 Unfortunately, the tricycles are only allowed on secondary roads and not on main roads or national highways. There's probably a traffic enforcer along Shaw Blvd. that's why the tricycle driver just took you to the transport terminal near StarMall.
Most Filipino foods are pared w sauce. Vinegar, soy, chilli, fish sauce. They're there for you to customise according to your preference. Rice is always a side dish, and it always balances the saltiness, spice, sweetness of the dish

Hi Kevin, a piece of advice kindly be more careful in giving tips (“keep the change”.) Keep your change and save it . The small amount of your change, can give it to those who really deserve . Just only my opinion , an example the kid who’s selling ice candy instead of giving to the guy in the bakery. 😅 . Watching your videos here in Italy. Good luck to your vlog! Keep safe there!
yeah like keep your opinion to yourself. Who gets to decide who's deserving or not? you? it is not your money after all. Maybe Kevin does not like to carry coins so he'd rather give it to whoever he wants, who knows? 😅commenting here from Mars. Good luck to your Italy life! Keep safe there!
@@AM-reacts and? why don't you tell the kid's parents to better take care of the kid instead of letting him sell ice candy on the streets? if you feel bad, then make a difference. Apply it to your life. That 5 pesos tip to the store isn't gonna go anywhere, 5 pesos is like nothing smh.
@@Kevin-Travels Glad to help. Can’t wait to dine too in mang Inasal❤ presto in a few days. Kevin, if you have a lots of time try to visit our province in Pampanga a different culture to adapt😅. Be tough! Keep safe.
@@Kevin-Travels I haven't heard of anyone who uses the oil for the rice either in Mang Inasal. hehe. They usually give a soup, and that's what we do, we pour it in the rice, but never the condiments. The condiments only go to the chicken. :)
That little boy was selling ice candy. It’s a frozen fruity or milky liquid treat. You should have given him some loose change even if you didn’t want to buy from him. You gave 5 pesos to the bakery man didn’t you?
@@Kevin-Travels Not really weird in the Philippines. Kids selling something on the streets will appreciate a monetary gift over an ube hopia. Or you can ask the price of the item and give them the amount without taking the product if you don't want it. That ice candy couldn't be much more than 15 or 20 pesos. 😃
I disagree with this if you want to help the kid I suggest you to buy him some food instead of giving him money because maybe he is part of a child slavery who beg for someone else benefit.
Everybody has the freedom to give or not to give. Give the guy a break, giving money to kids is not mandatory. Besides he finds it unusual to give a tip or money without buying anything.
I guess I was full already, oh wait. I think it's kinda doesn't make sense in Inasal if you order unlimited rice😁😁 you get too full so don't feel like need anymore food later
Hey you have to squeeze the calamansi to the soy sauce not directly to the chicken. The dipping sauce has to be the soy sauce, chili and calamsi. Just saying. 🥰

Yes, sorry this time a bit shorter😊longer next time🤗
Ok man Keep longer stay here on December Christmas 😊
@@Kevin-Travelsyour subscribers increased and more views if you stay here long
@@LloydTaray-bt7ho Let's see, maybe :)
@@LloydTaray-bt7ho Haha sure, Filipinos are very supportive ❤
Hi I'm a Russian I will travel in Philippines too
Privet, Philippines is amazing right 🥰
Go to Star City next please
I try to go when in Manila :), thanks for recommending ❤
Chicken oil to the rice
Chili and calamansi to the soy sauce - dipping sauce for your chicken
Oh okay :), don't you add soy sauce to rice? to add some saltiness
❤❤❤ tnx Sir
My pleasure 🤗 ❤️
Are you in star mall Alabang or Star Mall Mandaluyong?
In Mandaluyong 😊
Kevin, you may compare Mang Inasal Chicken with that of Hawker Chan's Soy Sauce Chicken. Which one's better?
>> You may use google map to locate the nearest Hawker Chan in the metro.
Nice, might give it a go👍🏼🤗
This is boni ave right?
In Star Mall, Mandaluyong 😊
I remember daily max vlog the mang inasal master haha
Oh did he😁 well not surprised as it's good and popular spot
Max Eat Everything and A lot …. I Watched His Last Episode in Bicol Region He Devoured A lot of Food 😅😂😂 I love to watch His Videos Coz he’s not a picky Eater pretty much Eat Everything 😅😂
@@piacash5216 Yeah exactly! Takes it easy and his nice polite guy. His vids are good
The soy sauce is for the chicken dip like a gravy of the chicken
Yeah locals do it like this, but for me personally chicken is very well flavored. I don't need to add extra saltiness to my chicken. It almost becomes too salty then. So I just eat chicken as it is. I prefer my rice to be flavored with oil and soy sauce :D
You can visit BGC in Taguig or Siargao, don't travel in Manila or davao because there's a lot of scammers there
Okay, I will try to go to those locations in future 🥰
Why did you include my city Davao is a big region. He will have a bad idea without visiting it. Dont generalized because every location have scammers especially tourist place.
@@JepoyOlivo Now in Davao and I do feel way safer here generally. :)
It is not that he doesn't want to take you to starmall. Tricycles are not allowed there, I guess
Yeah I understand now :), I thought he just didn't bother to take me there because of difficult traffic conditions, but never thought he was not allowed
actually, chicken oil is for the chicken. It makes the chicken taste good and not dry.
Oh really😅 chicken definitely was not dry
I enjoy your blogs and the content. Glad to have discovered your blog. Just curious if you were working in Estonia and if you were did you quit to be able to travel extensively. Be safe
I was living in Australia for past 5 years before my travels 😊😊 so happy to hear you enjoy watching 🥰❤️
@@Kevin-Travels I imagine that the huge Asian population of Australia made you more interested in Asia. More power to your blog
I like that you are using the knife and spoon perfectly Filipino style. I see many foreign bloggers not used to eating that way and they just use the spoon and therefore end up using their other hand to push the food. Enjoy the cuisine and there’s more to eat and savor locally.
@@BingConcepcion-y6y Haha, well I don't know. But after Australia I thought I go to my first Asian country (Thailand) and then I kinda fell in love in Asian countries and people here more and more.
@@BingConcepcion-y6y Haha good to know that I know some Filipino style already :)
It’s not allowed my friend
For the trike
That makes sense now😁
Tricycle is not allowed in major highway that's why
That explains everything 😊 thanks
I have the same thought. I get it's his money, but I felt bad for the kid- his item would have costed less than the tip too.
Thanks I appreciate your advice Marny, I keep this in mind for my future vlogs :) ❤
@@Kevin-Travels Glad to help. Can’t wait to dine too in mang Inasal❤ presto in a few days. Kevin, if you have a lots of time try to visit our province in Pampanga a different culture to adapt😅. Be tough! Keep safe.
We usually mix the soy sauce with the chicken and not with the rice, we dip the chicken in the soy sauce.
Oh okay, so oil for rice😊
@@Kevin-Travels I haven't heard of anyone who uses the oil for the rice either in Mang Inasal. hehe. They usually give a soup, and that's what we do, we pour it in the rice, but never the condiments. The condiments only go to the chicken. :)
@@fkoff7649 I personally seen some people in Mang Inasal use oil for rice, so they have orange color rice
The tricycle is not allowed to cross the main road to Starmall 🙂
Oh that explains that! 😊
He wasn't allowed to!
@@dondiezel yeah..
I'm new here I love your blog
Thank you, I'm really happy that you love it❤
@Kevin-Travels more blog handsome
That little boy was selling ice candy. It’s a frozen fruity or milky liquid treat. You should have given him some loose change even if you didn’t want to buy from him. You gave 5 pesos to the bakery man didn’t you?
Yeah should have, but its weird to give people who are selling something coins without buying. I don't wanna be disrespectful, he was not a beggar.
@@kinjazplayground6784 As clearly seen in the video, the child was not begging. He was selling ice candy. Clearly not the modus of a syndicate.
Everybody has the freedom to give or not to give. Give the guy a break, giving money to kids is not mandatory. Besides he finds it unusual to give a tip or money without buying anything.
Dude, do you have a twin or a separate channel?
Yes, another channel😁
Youre so lucky the enforcer not see you.... When they see you maybe you will fined its a ordinance
Yeah, lucky indeed. Couldn't see the sign before. I was carrying huge luggage that's why I needed shorcut
Why don't u try their halo halo bro?
I guess I was full already, oh wait. I think it's kinda doesn't make sense in Inasal if you order unlimited rice😁😁 you get too full so don't feel like need anymore food later
Some trycycle have their own boundaries. 😅😅😅
Haha, makes sense😁
Try the unli soup.
Hot water wt sinigang mix
Oh yeah I did, it was good a bit sour, but nice😋 I forgot in video🥹
The chicken part you chose is the breast quarter which is why it included the wing.
Oh okay, makes sense😁 do you like this?
@Kevin-Travels at Mang Inasal I do prefer the leg and thigh part. Watching from quezon city.
@@mario4301 Oh okay, I try leg next time :) Quezon city, nice I stayed there for few days.
Normally dude you must not put soy sauce to much in rice its salty. Normally chilly squeeze in soy sauce and dip slice of chicken to it.
For me chicken doesn't need soy sauce 😁 thats salty and flavoured enough, but rice surely benefits from soy sauce😁
@@Kevin-Travels well if that's your style of eating Inasal its ok that's you.... Enjoy eating inasal
Hey you have to squeeze the calamansi to the soy sauce not directly to the chicken. The dipping sauce has to be the soy sauce, chili and calamsi. Just saying. 🥰
Thanks for the tips! I do like some calamansi on my chicken though :D But I will try out Filipino way :)
5:22 You recorded yourself breaking the law, J-walking! :)
