Filipinos use the spoon to both cut and scoop as most of our food is braised and tender. Palabok sauce is usually a combination of pork, shrimp and anato oil that is stewed down and thickened like a gravy. It tastes best with a squeeze of calamansi (small lime) and a dash of fish sauce.
I'm Irish and will be in the Philippines next month for my second visit in 2 years I tried most of the local dishes, but I'm far from a foodie, the peach mango pie and pineapple juice from Jolibee was best lol.
