This product may say Detailer but feel the surface when done, it has more of a wax feel. Great product from a great company! Been a customer of theirs since 2005, THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Just bought a new (to me) Audi A6 and I am a McGuires fan but more and more enjoying the Griots brand. Ironically I picked this up from Auto Zone and thought I’d throw it on You Tube reviews and pleased to hear about its exceptional performance. I for sure will not apply in direct sunlight as here in Florida it’s like punishment for death, but glad to hear your approval for a choice I made , I feel much more confident it will work well. Not a torn relationship with McGuires as brands and technology always find a way to edge each other out, so I’ll keep tuning into your blogs, thanks again!!
I use griots spray wax and their wash. All of Griots products smell amazing! You would think that smell doesn’t matter that much but it does. It really does. It makes caring for your vehicle a more pleasant experience
just a little about myself. I'm disabled. my arms are 6 inches shrter than normal. had are inverted inward 90 degrees. no thumbs. 4 fingers. I just wanted t tell you that u and one other youtuber have inspired me to try and take better care of my car. so I bight tell griots starter kit. da polisher. polish cream. wax detail spray and clay. they threw in the product your showing right now. I looked up your site. I hope you don't mind me senior an email maybe askng advice on how to go about this. so thank you very much. love your stuff
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing Scott you are one of the most genuine peson out there, you are great mate.much respect to you and your family. Thanks.
Scott, this product (as well as a few others from Griot's) is also widely available at Advanced Auto (if there is one near folks). The prices are pretty good and I actually will go and grab a bottle if needed whenever I am about to run out rather than ordering online and having to wait for it.
i love it..lol..well both howard and i are from long island ny...your daughter sounds awesome but i promise i will not say anything nasty perhaps like howard so your daughter is safe to hear me in the background as daddy enjoys the video:)...much love to you and your family:)
Scott. Bought me a bottle of BSD and I have mixed thoughts on this one. I'm a Meguiar's guy for paint applications and use Xpress Wax in between washes. I just washed my vehicle and used BSD full on the entire vehicle. Why I did this (besides the fact that I bought one already)? Well, when I bought it 2 weeks ago, I applied it on the hood of my vehicle just to wipe away the little debris on it and give it a try until I wash the car full-on. Anyway, I do like the easy of application. Versus Xpress Wax, BSD did not flash as much as Xpress Wax so I did end up having to go after the first wipe with a dry MF towel. Not a biggie on this one as the last pass does help buff of any residue and give it a nice pop. Maybe it's the high humidity here in Florida tonight that did not help with flashing, who knows? But during a few rain storms these past few days, I did like how the water beaded off the hood of my vehicle with this product vs Xpress Wax. With XW, I find that the effect is somewhat shortlived depending on the condition of the protection, but the water beading was smoother with BSD. So I'm looking forward to who beading will behave in the next coming days with BSD applied. I love the blue color shade. That definitely caught my attention. The smell? Not so much. It's too "candy" like. I think the shine is equitable between both BSD and XW on my black vehicle. So versus XW, BSD is a winner on my book on color (blue) and water beading. Ease of application I can live with. Thanks, again!
Used Best of Show today to clean of a layer of light dust on my car. Was able to clean the entire body with a medium size micro fiber towel and the Best of Show spray. This product is a little costly, so I won't use it more than once a week, maybe less. But it does come in handy. I was surprised how well it works.
Really good review of what looks like a must have detailing product, I've heard nothing but raves on RUclips about the high quality of Griots car care products. I'll be picking up the BOS Detailer, can't wait to try some, Thanks. Hope you'll review more of their spray waxes.
So I’m trying to compare apples to apples here. If Best of Show Detailer is like Megs synthetic Xpress What is the Best of Show Spray wax comparison? And would the last touch spray compared to Speed Shine? I literally have bought both

Scott you say that you use this product on the interior plastic as well, then wouldn't this BSD with its UV inhibitors work well on exterior black plastic trim?
I'm not that Scott but I'll chime in. Yes, the yellow Costco towels work well. In fact, other than premium towels like Rag Co. Eagle towels for wax and polish removal/buffing, the yellow towels can serve just about every other function. I have some higher pile towels for drying and wiping off rinseless wash products, but for most people, the Costco towels can serve this function well. In sum, get the Costco towels for everything -- interior, drying (check out blower), wax/rinseless work, and even polish/wax removal unless you feel you need the Eagles. Then, get the Eagles and huck towels for glass. You'll be set!
Costcos towels are fine to use, but after couple washes i wont use them on paint. I even had good results using sams clubs towels, i prefer the green over the orange towels for paint tho. Idk why but i felt like the green was better on black paint
I have the Griot's best of show, but the ceramic Pro techs said it didn't need anything on the paint, and not to use wax, but I bought the Griots cause it's a detailer and not a wax, I just was leary until I spoke to a experienced detailer like yourself, to confirm it will not hurt the coatings surface.
Mr. Scott have you ever tried Lucas Slick mist? Thanks for the videos they are a great help. I have always enjoyed cleaning and detailing my own cars. and now looking to take it the next level and start my own business. and the way explain is very helpful. to hell with the ones saying you talk to much. keep up the great work and God bless you sir.
Have you tried the F11 topcoat? Your opinion? This product you are using seems like it would be easier , quicker to use. I'm thinking the F11 is like the Meguires. It streaks and takes a little extra elbow grease.
If you like this product, You will absolutely love Ride and Shine from Shine Supply. Please try it, I am a professional detailer in NY and you will never use anything else. Especially because of the price. $30 per gallon. It’s the best most hydrophobic detail spray I have ever used and I use all Car Pro products. You won’t be disappointed, I promise. Good luck!
Andres G. It’s definitely much easier to use then best of show. The only differences are if the car is a little dusty you can still use best of show but just know if the car is a little dusty I would use a waterless wash , not a detail spray. Ride and shine should really be used after the car is clean in my opinion. Ride and shine it’s just so simple to use it just melts into the paint and makes it look like your car was just ceramic coated. I happen to like best of show very much but it takes a little bit more to wipe it where you don’t get any streaks because sometimes I have seen that streaks a little bit. Best of shows a little harder to use, You don’t need to worry about that with Ride and shine. The company is shine supply and they’re based out of California and the owner of the company’s name is Jeremy and he has the most incredible all purpose cleaner called solution, the most amazing tire rubber cleaner which is called wise guy, unbelievable wheel cleaner called cool guy, and They have an amazing tire shine called decked out. No sling, goes on beautifully and actually lasts a week easily. It’s water based which is the key.
Steve Greer the Griots Spray Wax is meant to be used as a drying agent after washing the car. It will give you protection between washes but it's not meant to replace a real wax just FYI. I have used it on a dry surface and it works ok but it leaves the paint slightly hazy. Best of Show Detailer is meant for dust, finger prints, car show prep etc.. But it works great after waxing or sealing to really make the paint pop.
Webster Slaughter I have been testing the Griots Spray Wax for several weeks. I really like it as a drying aid since it leaves a lot of gloss behind. Like you said though, it's not very long lasting. One product I am in love with is Adam's H2O Guard and Gloss. It takes a little more wiping after it flashes, but I notice it will last over one month with the same kind of gloss as Griots Spray Wax. I have a bottle of Griots Best of Show Detailer, but I have only used that product once. I was happy the way it flashed so quickly, and it's ease of use with no streaking. Great products!
Steve Greer it's funny you mention Adams H2O Guard and gloss because I have been thinking about trying it. I've never used their products but I want to try that and the Americana Paste wax.
Webster Slaughter After buying a single botttle of H2O, I bought a gallon jug. I've got to be honest- I wasn't very impressed with Adams Paint Sealant, but H2O really works well. It just takes that extra step with a dry microfiber towel to give it that final wipe down. I highly recommend it!
I have this and I’m also thinking of picking up the interior detailer by griots. For inside of the car leather and plastic will I see any notice or difference by switching to the interior detainer over using the best show detailer I already have? Thanks Scott!
Just recently saw this at my local Pepboys, whats the difference between this on and the one they had next to it on the shelf-their Speed Shine? -if I can use this on the inside too, then it kinda becomes a must buy!
The speed shine is most commonly used as a lubrication for claying the vehicle whereas this is commonly used as a detailer to just touch up and refine the shine after a complete detail has been done. The speed shine is also really great for the jams, under the hood, under the trunk lid and SOME places inside the car. I have never used this inside the car. Speed shine and this Detailer are quite similar, yes, but the detailer flashes where the speed shine does not. Hope this helps.
Scott, just out of curiosity since megs ultimate fast finish is a paint sealant, could i apply this after applying the fast finish as a topper per say? Or would that be pointless in your opinion?
Great video, I just got a new car and am going to take good care of her. I got this, and the klasse aio and the sealant. I did one coat of each klasse yesterday, then I wiped her down today with the griots, thinking that the child weather was going to set in until April. Well, Its going to be warmish again next week, and I'd like to put a second coat of the sealant on. Do you think I can apply the klasse sealant again after having used the griots spray? I would wash the car first, but would the wax in the griots affect the klasse from taking hold? Thank you
@@leardi58 yes I have aftermarket chrome wheels on my car..it actually brings out the color and clarity in your paint..can be used in direct sunlight without streaking. definitely worth trying
Geeeez Scott I'm of to auto zone to try this over megs quick detailer. Great advise, I'm not a pro just a weekend driveway warrior that loves megs just on the store availability and a good product but the more I watch I find the products you use a are in store. FYI $13 for 32 oz auto zone. 😁
Hi Scott, love the videos! Just curious if you've played around with Bugslide? It's a one-step clean and polish product popular in the motorcycle world. Similar product as S-100. I own a black Harley and am looking for a quick solution to spiffing it up in between washings... I usually start by dusting it off with a Swiffer feather duster (don't laugh) then polishing with a soft microfiber cloth and bugslide but I'm wondering about other solutions? Thanks!
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing do you think I can use this or v7 to remove the wax? Some waxes are hard to remove like colinite , I mean I don't want to remove the layer of fresh wax im applying
Scott, which one do you prefer, Sonax BSD, Best of Show or Last Touch Detailer? Also, did you ever test or reviewed Fusso Coat from Soft99? Thanks. Greetings from the UK.
I use myself speed shine wich is the original detailer from griot and even if we are not suppose to use it in direct sunlight this stuff perform also very great without any streAks mabye it contain less alcool in it because yes its may be slower to flash its still very good, those product outperform xpress wax for me
Hey Scott: I recently saw a RUclips video touting Meguiars X-wax as a great product for interior protection on every surface from leather to plastic and glass. What are your thoughts?
Just tried it for the first time last night and same results. Couldn't get rid of the streaks on my pearl white VW Golf (working in the garage) until I waited a few minutes then went back with a fresh microfiber cloth. Once finished, looks great.
@@leardi58 I wash my truck and car once a week, use x-press spray wax every thrid wash, my truck is only 5 years old but my car is 11 years old, looks as good as the day I bought it if not better. I do a full carnuba wax every 6 months. All mequiar products.
Anthony A you would be wrong my friend, griots has waxes and polymer in the spray..both are detail sprays in reality. .both provide protection and gloss and shine. meguiars x wax is a detail spray. meguiars is polymer based and griots is both organic and synthetic based
i buy online and at times for griots products i can pick them up at autozone...i also have many companies that send me products to review and I'm grateful for that as well..but for my business i typically order with detailed image or autogeek...hope that helps and thank you for your support:)
its one of my favorites for sure:)...I have a few I use and it depends on the paint and if im working in direct sunlight...perhaps for a non pro you could use this all the time
You should update your reviews after you have used the product for a while, isn't this one turning things blue because of the dye? I still have not used anything better than XW outside and inside of vehicle. But there are a few I still haven't tried, Griot's is okay, but overpriced in my opinion.
pedro Gonzalez I would complete agree! I have used lots of quick detailers and v7 is by far my favorite. The amount of gloss and shine also how it works so great on glass and plastics. The orange smell is fantastic, I buy it by the gallon and it is my favorite. People hate on chemical guys and they do make some lackluster products but their staple best selling products are amazing.
Weekend Warrior yes they have good products but very expensive if you have a cleaning business probably don't recommend to buy lot of this products but if you have a car or truck you love for personal use I would buy some of them
Not a big fan of the product, to be perfectly honest. Not slick enough, IMO. We differ here. FWIW, I've been playing with HD Touch lately. Quite impressive and reasonably priced.

Alex915 Hi, griots can be used with the car wet?
Use to detail my pops flex bout 10 Yrs ago when I was in high school and I swear I said this the best product

Great review!
I use myself speed shine wich is the original detailer from griot and even if we are not suppose to use it in direct sunlight this stuff perform also very great without any streAks mabye it contain less alcool in it because yes its may be slower to flash its still very good, those product outperform xpress wax for me
Can I use this as drying aid?
kwatch1215 absolutely
Wow you can use it on interior.
Hey Scott: I recently saw a RUclips video touting Meguiars X-wax as a great product for interior protection on every surface from leather to plastic and glass. What are your thoughts?
So I assume you aren't worried about this removing the Sealant you've just laid down, while using this as a final wipe down?
M6transam it won't remove the sealant or wax.
Actual scent is from the blue box of Mike & Ike’s!
cool!...i love it and perhaps why i get hungry for candy when i use it:)
I get a lot of streaking from it but after a lot elbow grease with a fancy drying towel the finish is fantastic
Just tried it for the first time last night and same results. Couldn't get rid of the streaks on my pearl white VW Golf (working in the garage) until I waited a few minutes then went back with a fresh microfiber cloth. Once finished, looks great.
I'll stay with x-press spray why pay extra money for the smell.
Have you used it just curious why
@@leardi58 I wash my truck and car once a week, use x-press spray wax every thrid wash, my truck is only 5 years old but my car is 11 years old, looks as good as the day I bought it if not better. I do a full carnuba wax every 6 months. All mequiar products.
@@jameslong4453 I have to agree with you there they have one of the best products out there
Best of Show is 50% more than the Xpress Wax. I'll stick with my Xpress Wax for now, but good to know it works in a pinch and need some right away
Griots is a detailer and Meguiars is a spray wax, two different types of products. Compare Griots Detailer to Meguiars Last Touch qd
Anthony A you would be wrong my friend, griots has waxes and polymer in the spray..both are detail sprays in reality. .both provide protection and gloss and shine. meguiars x wax is a detail spray. meguiars is polymer based and griots is both organic and synthetic based
Meguiars Final Touch is a baaaaaaaad product
what makes you say that?
Anthony A. some spray detailers have no wax amd some have wax in them so this detailer is just like a wax speed shine is not
do you buy your products in store or online? what stores do you find most of what you have?
i buy online and at times for griots products i can pick them up at autozone...i also have many companies that send me products to review and I'm grateful for that as well..but for my business i typically order with detailed image or autogeek...hope that helps and thank you for your support:)
I'M GOING TO AUTO ZONE RIGHT NOW!
Is this product safe on plastic and rubber trims
yes sir
love this stuff !!!
Your favorite??
its one of my favorites for sure:)...I have a few I use and it depends on the paint and if im working in direct sunlight...perhaps for a non pro you could use this all the time
@@dallaspaintcorrectionautod8343 para car vitrificado??
Can it be used on a car with ceramic pro 9h ?
sure..i can't see why not
their products are expensive but is worth it
i dont know why no body else notices this but if you spray alot of the megs x press on a wet car it smells like a dam wet sock like wtf?!?
Don't drop a Griot's bottle -- either the bottle will crack or the sprayer will break off at the threaded cap.
How ‘bout if I throw it against a wall, will it break? Dumbass
But Xpress is cheaper no
Griots is good stuff, but it's prob cheaper in Auto zone ,cause Griots Rape$ you with $hipping. You gotta spend $60 bucks to get the free shipping.
You should update your reviews after you have used the product for a while, isn't this one turning things blue because of the dye? I still have not used anything better than XW outside and inside of vehicle. But there are a few I still haven't tried, Griot's is okay, but overpriced in my opinion.
Allen Maestas I never said this product dyes anything..still love this product and use it almost daily
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing yeah, sorry bout that mixed it up with another one I guess. I myself still like XW better.
That product is great I tried it .. but I like much better v7 from chemical guys make my paint looks awesome
pedro Gonzalez I would complete agree!
Weekend Warrior yes they have good products but very expensive if you have a cleaning business probably don't recommend to buy lot of this products but if you have a car or truck you love for personal use I would buy some of them
😂 kinda sexy 😂 man i love your channel man. One of my all time favorite channels. Definitely in my top 5
Cotton 🍬 😂
BIG difference between the two. Meguiars offers protection and griots does not.
what protection do you speak of?...are you sure:)
Meguiars has a synthetic wax in it for protection and Griot's is strictly a detail spray so no protection
both products have polymers...neither are a natural wax...do you feel megs provides uv protection?
If it has wax then no good for ceramic coated cars
I love Griot's Bottles and sprayers. I might grab a bottle of this and see how I like it compared to my Xpress wax.
Rich Beach Do you compared it already?
Griot's has that snooty uptown wax in their bottle..
Not a fan at all of this quick detailer - does not flash well, extremely difficult to remove, and streaks.....
You must not be using it right but I have no idea how you can mess it up.
Not a big fan of the product, to be perfectly honest. Not slick enough, IMO. We differ here. FWIW, I've been playing with HD Touch lately. Quite impressive and reasonably priced.
Paid for by griots
this man is a hack. he may as well be on Tv selling products.
I luv u baby 😉
Please try to repeat the same thing a few times more. Thanks. 🙄
