Good luck, alongside everything Gabe mentioned, don't back down even if you get scared. It's mostly will against will in there. Just have the mindset that you won't allow yourself to get bullied and that''s gonna carry you quite a lot, especially in a 1st fight. Expanding your belly when breathing in through the nose as deep as you can and exhaling as much air as you can, all at once is gonna do wonders for you in the corner or even when waiting for them to call your name. Also, please try to stay conscious of your general breathing throughout the bout itself as much as you can, it's gonna improve your all around game by at least a level.
I still remember my first warm up over 10 years ago...I've never done it since or before but first thing my coach said was right cross on the pads (everyone including my opponent watching in the back)and I straight up punched like 5 inches to my left of the pad and nearly fell over 🤣 adrenaline Is a crazy thing.
I’m scared but I’m here to stand up as a man and show the world that I am here to fight for what I believe in and to make an impact. It’s a privilege to contribute in any small way to the sport of boxing and to walk in the same steps of great men in the past. I pray that I am able to do my family and friends proud and live up to my name which means ‘honour’ pray for me
Great tips! #6 Warm up beforehand is critical! #1 is hard for people especially first time, veterans most so combat vets understand the mindset and that’s once the bell rings for round start war has begun until it rings to mark the end. Gotta use that mindset but also control it.
Man.. I had that warm up exhaustion in my first interclub the other day and I really wondered what was wrong with me, really messed with my head and ultimately my performance. So good to hear that it’s normal. Will keep in mind during my actual fight next month💪
This channel is amazing. It really covers a variety of super important but usually overlooked topics. It's these little things that help so much, like knowing it's normal that your warmup feels terrible. I've had this happen myself and thought it was just my body going into the freeze (figh, flight or freeze) mode. But hearing that it's common just wil make it so much more easy in the future to deal with it, as it won't be another factor of unwanted stress just before the event. Thank you so much for all this top-notch content 🙏🏼
I lost my first fight 1 week ago and would have love to watch this before (specially number 6). 2 more important tips: 1) Rest a lot the week before 2) Check your gear.
I started kickboxing 2 months ago and I want to fight in maybe 2 months from now thank you for giving us all these advices I hope you make more of these videos
I recommend You to do an exhibition before an amateur fight thats the way i do it and the exhibition teach me a lot of thing that are useful in a amateur fight.Sorry for My inglish i'm Uruguayan
@@palerewinit‘s great that you‘re that passionate about it. Maybe that’s the right way for you. But I did the same and I can recommend if you‘re realizing it was way too early don’t force yourself to get back in the ring too soon. I fought, was totally scared and not good enough, got Ko‘d and signed up for a fight like 6 weeks later. That one was horrible. So if its a good experience, take it and move on. But if it’s a bad one, don‘t blame yourself, you got so much time to get better ❤️💪
Thanks Gabriel i have another fight the day after tomorrow and I feel like the nerves ruin my performance every time i step in there. This gives me some things to think about and hopefully it doesn't bother me so bad this time
In my first fight (full contact) it was a draw and at the end I had to run to the bathroom. in the fight and before I was okay but at the end it seemed like I relaxed haha🤣🤣🤣greetings from Argentina

How can I make sure that I perform sharply and energetically because in lots of my training sessions I have dull days where I feel like my punches are weak and I have no energy
@@maroonghnatios2546went so great couldnt wish for any scenario more perfect. Try to stay social for as long as possible with your team and not go into quiet fight mode hyping yourself up cause you’ll gas yourself alot doing that. Only do that a few minutes before you make the ring walk. Don’t sit there tensed up ready to throw bombs 1.5 hours before you have to fight. The rounds are so quick. Listen to your corners and don’t try to murder him in the 1st. Save your gas tank and do what your coach tells you to. I’ve sparred hard with bigger and better boxers during camp so the fight was easier than i expected tbh. Don’t forget to enjoy everything, the whole day will go by so fast. Let me know how it went tomorrow and good luck!
@@maroonghnatios2546 Thanks for asking. Unfortunately, everything went wrong. I was so ready both physically and mentally and everything looked so perfect. My opponent was seemingly supposed to have his first fight as well, but this is where it started. Since he started to warmup and stuff, all trainers and guys around started to say that it is definitely not his first fight. To start with, he didnt even make weight and nobody told me and they just moved us up a weight class. The first punch he landed on me was a random slap that ruptured my eardrum. I could not hear for like half an hour. Nevertheless, I went through the first 3 minute round quite well. We exchanged combinations, but I still got rolled. When I told my trainer I couldnt hear, he took off my gloves and said we end. I didnt want to, but he told me it is about health. I felt devastated the whole day. The day after both trainers called me and made sure I am alright. They got to know that the guy had a pro fight won by first round KO and over 50 amateur fights, they just somehow covered it up. So I went with him longer than a pro basically. I also learned a lot from the fight and when I saw the video later, I felt actually quite good about myself. Pretty entertaining fight and good perfomance over all, as one of my trainers said, but the guy was a secret pro, so I could do nothing more than that. I am sorry if it is too long. I tried to make it as short as possible. Let me know how your fight went. Rooting for you.
I got my first fight amateur fight next week. This'll really help me get better. When training in private i always do your workouts, and it's really working. But could you do a pylometric workout if you haven't done one already, or a 10-20 minute full body calisthenics workout for martial arts? I kinda know how i train my skills, but with calisthenics i think i need a guide and i can't afford a coach. If you could do that, it would help me so much.
